@@tybes99 as someone that works closely with ECHR on a regular basis, we’re the ones suffering the most as a result of our obligations towards ECHR. Right now there are people literally travelling across most of the planet just to get to this island across multiple safe countries where they can claim asylum in, to get away from whatever bothers them or makes it unsafe for them in their native country. Literally they get sign posted to the UK by Europe who don’t want to deal with the problem and fulfil their own obligations to the ECHR because the UK is seen as some holiday destination. Doesn’t that irritate you? Doesn’t it mean anything to you how we’re literally being bankrupted by spending millions upon millions every single day having to get hotels to house, feed and clothe many (but not all) people that either shouldn’t be here or have any intention to contributing towards our system? ECHR was made after WWII explicitly to combat displaced people as a result of WWII. Of which they are many. Now, many years later, we have organised criminal gangs who exploit the system to bring people in to continue to growth of criminal empires. Or people develop networks where they funnel people here and coach them so they can claim and be granted asylum so they can funnel money back home. Its utterly crazy.

The security issue from sending an email to an unsecure address such as gmail is that the servers to those addresses can be located all around the world, so by sending that message to a gmail account may mean the contents go through countries with different data protection regs than the UK and the contents will not be secure.
What she did is gross misconduct and is a serious disciplinary offence. There can be no excuse of doing it by accident. Its disgraceful to be reinstated, let alone within six days, for such a breach.
