She now knows that one more slip would see her tenuous appointment cancelled and her on the backbenches for a long time, this way Sunak has her in control. Whenever the Tories bang on about the £1200 they have handed out - as though we’ve already got it in the bank which nobody does - I would caution this: my household has one working person and one on PIP. We have received/will receive by early next year, a total of £550. A guy up the road in a household earning £300,000 or 20 times as much, will have received £400 in the same time frame. We have the DWP refusing to look at the fact a technicality was used to block us getting the much-spoken-of £650 COL payment, because a lump sum of the full year’s miserable 1.75% pay rise, dropped into the exact paypacket used for the assessment period. £14.50 was actually earned in that month, the other £160 or so, was a catch-up for the months it was not paid on time (negotiating took too long).
The DWP have all the info required - they refuse to look at the issue, point-blank won’t do their job. Won’t make sure the payments are correct. The term ‘targeted support’ for ‘the worst off’ has been used an awful lot in the last 40 years by tories. Why does a £300,000 household that knowingly doubled the size of their own home to 6 bedrooms from 3 or 4, need 4/5 of what we’re getting as help with energy costs, COL etc? This is all Sunak, and the DWP blocking claimants instead of helping them. Take care all.
