Even less happy ending now, huh? Little nightmares is, and probably always will be one of my most favorite titles, as the trilogy is just so well put together. First singleplayer game with an immensely good story, and perfect mixture of surrealistic atmospheric horror. One of a kind. Accomplishing this all while there is no dialogue, and leaves the story almost completely up to the viewers interpretation.
Ethan Sines it's made even worse knowing his journey amounted to nothing. All that fighting, all those secrets discovered, all of it for naught. This ending feels like a pointless struggle.

And the comics were cancelled for some reason, so it seems the story of those children will be left unresolved. It sucks that we'll just have to wait and hope for the Little Nightmares T.V. series. Though I can't imagine it being on the maw, as there are no more secrets it holds. The children became nomes, the guests became food, Six and the children are being hunted by nightmarish monsters. The game makes it clear that Six was the only one to escape with her newly gained powers. Which is another reason I'm saddened by the Kid's death. It would have been an interesting twist in the story narrative, and open opportunities for new story narratives. Sort of like the two leading two separate journies. Now, that will never happen.....AND I'M SO ANGRY ABOUT IT.
Ethan Sines except Six. She left, and we know why others never do. Kids are eaten or turned to nomes. The fat beastly people are lured in like lambs to slaughter, eat the children until they're gorged, and then become meat themselves. The twin chefs kill and cook the children and adults. Roger catches runaway children, and maintains the maw, even sending kids to the slaughter. The lady oversees the maw, ensuring it's survival. The nomes are children turned by the lady to force them into labor, so that they help keep the maw going. Six and the other hooded children are all runaways and survivors from the outside world who were brought to the maw. And in the end, we know Six' s and the maws fate, she kills everyone leaving only the nomes and twin chefs to maintain the maw. The Kid....was just another unfortunate kid on the maw. In the end, the only people we don't know about are the hanging man, the ferryman, and the bellman. But it doesn't matter now, because the maws finished. There's no one left to maintain it properly. I think that was part of the T.V.'s meaning. The story of the maw is finished, and now we're most likely to see the outside world with a different protagonist.
When I finished this game, I felt sad for at least a week. I was always thinking about this poor little guy. I played this song on every instrument that came under my hands.. guitar, piano.. I was obsessed. Now, this song brings me nostlagia. I went through the game with my friends, we were playing it at night. We all experienced the ending together. The room was silent. We didn't know what to say, some started to cry. I just turned off the computer, and it took us a while to be able to speak again. We named the kid Diego, as a joke, now this name is just the embodiment of sadness to us. He will forever be part of the best video game experiences I got.
It's a very haunting ending which perfectly encapsulates the "Little Nightmares" experience. I really wish this cue was on the original soundtrack; I do hope they release an OST for the Secrets of the Maw.
The Runaway Kid (Or as I like to call him: Blue) really didn't deserve this fate...it was dark and extremely sad which is definitely the better ending rather than him surviving... But I still wanted Blue to survive in the end...poor Blue...I'll never forgot you and your adventures! You've left a great impact on all of the Fans of Little Nightmares and will be sorely missed! This song is a masterpiece. When I saw the ending to this followed by this music, I was just shocked. It's so soothing as a song, but the context is so eerie and disturbing.
I think we all wanted Runaway kid to survive after all he's been through. Him dying leaves us with a sense of loss and longing however it also reminds us that there were other runaway kids who suffered just as much, who didn't receive happy endings as well. Those who were eaten and turned into nomes. Runaway kid didn't have a happy ending . . . and so did all the other nomes. The pain we felt as it was reavealed to us what was going to happen to him is the same pain we would feel for the other tormented souls if they were the spotlight character of the game.

when Six.. eats the nome... you're never aware of how much it has gone through until you play as the kid. It's pretty sad, coming all that way, just for that to happen to you. Really proves that not everything ends happily.

What bothers even more is that every character has a sad reasoning behind their actions, you can't completely hate on six or even the lady who herself is seen to be suffering. But the kid, he was the true shining in the darkness. It's hard for any human to see such a beautiful and kind light cruelly put off, it's wrong and unjust. Great game, kudos for the devs.

The first and only song to make me cry.. What really made me cry for some reason is the past we had with seven. We swam in the depths of what felt like hell, we hugged nomes, and saw what really keeps the maw running, and watching them being slaves, forever, and escaping the tall quarters of the one who owns the maw. We grew so attached to seven, and then seeing him before his final moments. But maybe death is better than eternal slavery, reflecting on how your life was before you were snatched from your home forever. Barely grasping a good time in your life.
In issue #2 of the comics it's demonstrated that people can become trapped in the mirror world but also switch bodies with the physical kind of person they want to be, and the frame of the mirror the Lady uses is very similar to the frames of the ones in the comic. Also all of the other mirrors back there are normal/bland, while that one's made to look unique. Pair that with the achievement name of "We'll Meet Again" and maybe even the flotsam bottle achievement descriptions and you have a somewhat shaky case but a case nonetheless that the Kid could still be alive. I'm one to believe that the meat is cursed, and maybe in particular the sausage, so even if The Runaway Kid is gone it's a little more comforting to think that he was the reason Six was able to continue and kill The Lady. I also think the reason we encounter no Shadow Kids in Six's story-line is because The Runaway Kid beat them all. I know the Shadow Kids probably weren't even designed or in mind when they made Six's story, but it's cool to think that The Runaway Kid saved Six because she wouldn't have been able to beat them with the lighter.

The runaway kids thoughts and soul were given to six after she ate him/absorbed him. This gave Six the knowledge that the lady has a weakness to unbroken mirrors. The runaway kid might have died but he accidentally gave his life to another child who was closer to freedom than he was.

The majority of games take a lot to make me truly cry. A lot of the time, it's because I cry-laugh or cry out of frustration. I played this with my best friend, who also adores the series just as much as I do. I was already upset by the fact that he was caught and turned into a Nome - we both were. To be fair, in some small way, it wasn't pointless. His death was part of what led Six to kill the lady and the guests. Presumably setting the Nomes free and stopping the Maw from claiming anymore victims. Of course, it lead to many worse things happening too. But either way he didn't die for totally nothing.

The runaway kids thoughts and soul were given to six after she ate him/absorbed him.
This gave Six the knowledge that the lady has a weakness to unbroken mirrors.
The runaway kid might have died but he accidentally gave his life to another child who was closer to freedom than he was.

I've literally lost sleep because of this. And tears.
The majority of games take a lot to make me truly cry. A lot of the time, it's because I cry-laugh or cry out of frustration.
I played this with my best friend, who also adores the series just as much as I do. I was already upset by the fact that he was caught and turned into a Nome - we both were. But as the credits rolled, we cried. Really cried.

All these secrets, all these dangers and mental challenges led him to painful death... This made Seven's journey pointless... after all he went through he didn't deserve it. Why Tarsier... Why you decided to do ending like that... Why he couldn't escape his deadly fate...

To be fair, in some small way, it wasn't pointless. His death was part of what led Six to kill the lady and the guests. Presumably setting the Nomes free and stopping the Maw from claiming anymore victims. Of course, it lead to many worse things happening too. But either way he didn't die for totally nothing.
