Follow up I wasn’t trying to be rude I legitimately didn’t notice it. I only just found this game and all of it has caught my eye. Idk how I didn’t realize it but that is a pretty big detail. Sorry if my comment came off the wrong way I don’t mean to be rude.

One of the biggest and saddest reveals I have ever seen in a video game, accompanied by this amazing song. The Runaway kid's story is just amazing.

My favorite part of the whole game. Though a lot of us may have missed the shadows during our first playthrough, I'm sure at this moment the runaway kid realizes that the nomes are all kids. Instead of the constant need of having to trek on forwards that is ever present throughout the game, you're presented with an atmosphere that invites you to stay a while. Little Nightmares is a master at setting the tone of bitter sweetness.
So true! Man to be honest I can't tell which is better, LN 1 or 2? I think both. But at the same time I will remember them as a nostalgia. It's one of those games that are appreciate with art.
It was my third playthrough that I noticed the shadows, and when I did, I didn't wanna leave
They don’t have previous memory but only know that they were children once upon a time. Their shadows will only show a human shape under the furnace’s light. They work hard to keep the furnace burning just to maintain their last bit of hope for memorizing their good old time, although knowing they can never return. How sad.

the dlc are sad
they remember there a child and think there still a child like seven, so they want to keep the Maw running that's why the furnace must be on as they are used as slaves before the signal tower fucked up the people.
They still remember there jobs and that's why they hang out together thinking "I must work now!"

The Nomes stood around the warm glow of the furnace, listening to the cranking of gears and the turning of The Maw's propellers from outside the hull. There was no engineer aboard the great ship to tend to the machines, as the dark magic of the Geisha powered the furnaces below... and yet, the Nomes still overlooked them. The engine room-- Their little Hideaway-- was their haven, a warm and bright place in a cold and dark sea.
poor little Nomes, forever cursed by vanity's hand...
At least they are safe in their small Hideaway.. Away from the nightmarish world above them. They didn't get the childhood they needed, attempting to escape just to become trapped a small body.

I felt so dumb that when I played this chapter, I didn't realize their shadows were different. After watching someone else play I was totally stunned. I had always thought that maybe the Nomes were children but to have it confirmed was crazy. This game has one of the most interesting and compelling universes I have ever experienced. So much lore to still be discovered and secrets revealed (Even after the final chapter.) I hope it's true that they want to do another game.

It's such a subtle thing but when you see it it makes you go "OH MY GOD WHAT"
It's only this furnace though; in the rest of the places we see them, their shadows are normal, suggesting this furnace is enchanted in some way. (Enchanted, or the only one that ISN'T enchanted.)

There is a sense of peace and tranquility, but at the same time, a sense of sadness and want. A want for something that has been long since gone. Thanks for the upload, fell in love with this sound the moment I heard it.

I felt sad and cryed when I saw the shadows on stream I was like "Aww trying to St- oh my goodness there kids :(" I saw the ending of seven as someone that cosplays seven I was like "Hm at a girl six!"
I was so shook when I realized that their shadows were the true children, what they used to be. This DLC was so heart-wrenching and fascinating, it really added to the mysterious lore of this game.
I loved this part, is like the "calm before the storm" moment of the game
Innocent children cursed for eternity by the hands of the envy. Can't feel, can't dream, have no recollection of who they were or what they are. I feel so sad.
This music is like a big trigger for me, but in a good way. It makes me feel so warm and safe, like I’m not alone. Thank you for this

Why did someone dislike this this is literally the only part of the game that is peaceful
I like that the scene is completely quiet
It has a silent sadness to it with the looming shadows of children on the walls as the gnomes gaze into the warm fireplace
If you listen really closely, this is the theme of "Prison Toys" from the first game!! It's incredibly slowed down, but there's no mistaking it. :D

I think the furnace represents a fire of hope and the nomes look at it to get hope and to keep on going.by the way thx for the soundtrack

This gives the feeling of being surrounded by family sitting in front of a fire and watching it thinking about the future and what it hides

I love how they threw in a peaceful room in with all the horror. The contrast really makes this part of the game impactful and emotional.
This music has a sense of loneliness like the frightfully scary memories they share,this is the only place they can get away from the fate that bestowed them, the runaway kid isn’t what scares them its what he his
man… it’s been so long since i’ve played this game and this piece of soundtrack still is as beautiful as i remember it being.
This was honestly one of my favourite parts of the whole entire game. This and the entire Residence afterward were the most powerful parts.
Just finished the DLC, this part was so calming that I waited in the room with the gnomes for a little and watched the fire. I didn't notice the shadows at first, but it makes perfect sense.
I've been having a little bit of a rough time recently. I have been kinda stressed out and in result my sleep has been really messed up. This sent me to sleep however and so, I thank you for helping me out. Thanks

Undoubtedly my absolute favorite moment in the entire game is when the kid and gnomes are warming themselves by the fire. Ironically it give me chills.

Little nightmares is scary because their are moments of peacefulness, peacefulness that makes you forget you live in a world full of horrifying creatures, it’s scary because the calm scenes like this are like a oasis in a vast and deadly dessert, and it’s scary because you know that the only way to escape is to venture into the darkness once again.

love how the main melody is prison toys. i feel like prison toys is sort of the anthem for all the children still alive in this horrible world. The original song carries a sense of childlike wonder, while also having a sad tone. this sounds a bit more welcoming and feels like music from a safehouse of sorts. "your journey may not be over, but won't you stay awhile?" type vibes
What pains me the most is that this room is their only consolation. This song reminds me of the joy of dreaming but In the present are too far to reach. Like a false hope or stagnancy of moving to the next step in life :( I want to adopt all the nomes and take care of them. Give them the childhood they deserve.

OMG Prison Toys slowed down.....it's awesome!
This music conveys the whole atmosphere of that very place, where you are not touched by your nightmares, where you can be helped by the same tiny creatures who have to hide from everyone. However, you understand that they nomes will no longer get out of that terrible place and they must work there until they die, it makes you feel sad and you want to say "I sympathize with you, kids ...".

I just remembered how magical this game is- oh my god-
the original prison toys reminds me of being hopeful, like a ray of sunshine through the clouds. this version is sorta- looking back on when you were hopeful. reading texts from long gone friends or seeing projects from when you were younger and more carefree. an odd mix of sad and happy that isnt quite nostalgia

Someone else think the game not ends yet. We still have questions, such the Hanging man at the end or the lady past. I have curious about Six and her problem with the lady. Why she hates her?, Why is the lady the Six's nightmare?, Why Six has a several problems about hungry? Or, What is the meaning of the TV song?

Mono isn't a bad person. He didn't know what it meant to her, nor did he know the consequences. He just wanted to save his only friend and protect her. You have to remember that he is just as young as Six is. How could he understand?

Fun fact: according to the developers, these Nomes had a wild dream in which they escaped the Maw, sailed off on a 32-foot yacht called “The Endeavor”, and spent their days sipping champagne and playing shuffleboard in their pajamas.

They can do it and they wont give up if thats what it takes to wake up💛💛 And when Six gets caught by the Ferryman she does everything and fight to survive and finally after so long she gets to see him tho i dont know how six got away from there because such a small soul cant swim without drowning all the way to Mono but maybie she just has to wake up. Should be a third LN this is just a theory.
Imagine when they have gone throw everything and darkness and nightmares untill they have finally reached the light. The end of the nightmares. And then the light comes throw the Window and she's awoken. Maybie Mono was a guardian that helped her throw all the darkness and guided her to the light were she is safe and wakes up with a smile. Idk i just came up with this now.
