Lando and McLaren weren’t ready for this fight. Max is at his peak high as a driver. Maturity, experience, team and car favor Max. At the start of the season probably most didn’t see McLaren this high up, not even them. So all this is new for drivers and team. It will be a learning situation that’s gonna make them be better in the future, not now. Expectations of them winning both championships is illogical knowing what each side has done in the past 3 years
Lando is lucky to have a teammate who has always been ready to switch positions with him to gain more points in the championship, unlike Max, whose teammate has been useless since the beginning of the season.
I believe that ferrari has had the bigger turnaround and with hindsight, seeing what happened in montreal and silverstone, it’s surprising they are still in the hunt for the wdc
With al due respect this is a lost WC for mclaren. Having the best car for most of the season and not winning it should be a dissapointment what so ever imo. I think it was very realistic to expect Lando to win it. In my opinion he just made to many mistakes. Ofcourse a phenomonal Max is very hard to win against, even in better material. But then again, it is a missed opertunity!
that vsc deployment in the sprint was just too favourable , it was as if the stewards were waiting for them to switch furthermore what about the penalties given for starting when the gantries were clearly yellow also the red flag deployment in qualifying seemed unfair it just seems kind of biased or maybe the fia want a dramatic close finale
The problem with Norris’ championship is the mistakes made earlier in the year, Norris has been cost probably 30 points by bad calls in qualifying and in races (Hungary, Italy, Baku etc.)
What about the 5 times he lost pole from a bad start? Stop blaming mclaren for his incompetence, he has lost over 100 points from not being able to drive that car at its fullest potential,
@ Lando hasn’t lost anywhere near 100 points due to his starts, not sure where you are getting that figure from. If you look at Baku for example, Norris started from 17th only because of a yellow flag on his qualifying lap. That was entirely avoidable, Baku is a narrow street circuit obviously there’s going to be an issue in qualifying and it’s going to be Q1 so why tell Norris to pit during Q1, it was just a bad call. If you look at race starts yeah Norris has left too much room going into the first corners of the race but also he pretty consistently gets positions back.
@sleepyumi you can't do math then, pole in Spain to 2nd, that's 8 points, pole in Hungary to 2nd, another 8, pole in Italy to third is 10, pole in the USA to 4th that's 13 points, and pole in Brazil to 6th, another 17 points, 56 points he's gotten from 5 pole positions, where with the speed of the car he should've dominated like Singapore all of those times, I mean that would've been 26 points x 5 which would be 130 instead if 56, but no because he isn't ready.
@ if you look at Hungry, he actually retook the lead of the race and was told by his team to drop back to second, if you look at Monza Oscar ran him wide in the second chicane that’s 18 points lost just to the team not ensuring the two drivers are giving each other space. USA could have only been third if McLaren told him to give the position back to Max, that’s three example already of where yeah Lando lost the pole, but the team made some big mistakes as well.
Lando can't make decent starts. Lando cannot make passes on others. Lando is quite a bad driver and a terrible human being. Easy to look through his mask.
Lando needs to be humble and not beat himself up every time he makes a mistake. He's too nervous and eager to please others around him, he doesn't have the calm and self confidence that a Hamilton, Verstappen or Alonso show. I also agree that it's ridiculous how many people were pedaling the notion that he could win, it's just sad and delusional to put those expectations on someone who simply isn't champion material (and in my honest opinion, I don't think he will ever be but I could well be wrong, who knows).

Ferrari will play big game in Las Vegas... Norris probably. Ferrari still has a chance for WCC
But then again, it is a missed opertunity!
that vsc deployment in the sprint was just too favourable , it was as if the stewards were waiting for them to switch
furthermore what about the penalties given for starting when the gantries were clearly yellow
also the red flag deployment in qualifying seemed unfair
it just seems kind of biased or maybe the fia want a dramatic close finale
Talk about Stroll, the man is a disaster for F1. 👎
Check out the video prior to this then
The only man who can beat Verstappen is Verstappen.
@sleepyumi he retook the lead because they botched Oscar's strategy
love the jordan hehind you
The Bottler is a real thing.
Lando can't make decent starts. Lando cannot make passes on others. Lando is quite a bad driver and a terrible human being. Easy to look through his mask.
I was a fan of Lando but he has become like Russell in that he is entitled rich kid who thinks he deserves a championship because he’s a Britt.
You alway got to put your money on Max , youre lying to yourself otherwise
Paul. Lando is never going to win it ! Its a wonder he hasnt binned himself yet. He has a strong negative projection radiating from him whi h I find troubling.
ALPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE !!!!!!!!!!
F1 fans wanted Norris to win because it is more fun to watch a race if there is competition.
Sack Zak
I can see daniels situation happening next season to lando. Piastri does less mistakes than Lando. He was very disrespectful to daniel
Skill issue, git gud Pando Poris.
