Normal man is questionable. I think in the files he does more damage than a sniper rifle with his pistol and he has the highest Damage Threshold compared to any other character. And the NCR sniped him 5 times during the 1st battle of the Hoover Dam, he was in Boulder City when it exploded, survived being set on fire and thrown into the Grand Canyon, and then walked back to Utah on his own. I don't think he is a normal man at this point.
I love how Ulysses' perspective on Graham is uniquely _his_ to have. I can't help but feel as if Ulysses was written here as to compare Joshua to both Ulysses and the Courier; all three were "broken" to some degree, and all three managed in the aftermath to find home, whatever that means for them. For Graham, it's Zion, for the Courier, it's Vegas, and for Ulysses, it's the Divide. To Ulysses, home isn't necessarily your birthplace, but a place you can breath life into and know who you are. It's fitting to describe Graham's personal redemption by these terms - he might be permanently damaged by his baptism by fire, but when he's at home with the tribals in Zion, and can foster and protect them, keeping the spirit of Randall Clark alive, he's breathing life into Zion. And by sparing Salt-Upon-Wounds following the defense of Zion, and recognizing his emotions in a more personal and introspective matter, he more truly grows to understand who he is, and to move beyond his present existence of hatred and desire for revenge. To let go, and begin again.

I think it has something to do with the game engine making it difficult to add things to existing characters from dlc. But I like the reason Graham gives, Ceasar's head is too far up his ass to ever admit he failed to kill him the first time plus however many frumentarii he sent. And the rest of the legion follows so blindly that except for a few people most believe he is dead simply because Ceasar said so.

Even when talking about him, he suggests you "end the conversation" i think if you mentioned him, he would have told you "what? Why didn't you kill him?" and then attack you for knowing, and if you didn't, would have simply said "Well, now i must kill you for knowing that he's alive, too many loose ends, our partnership ends here" and also attack you.
it'd be a nice touch if wearing joshua graham's armor (it's a gift in the footlocker at the end of Honest Hearts) or carrying the scripture led to some special dialogue with legion members, maybe even some kind of slave revolt now that they know the Burned Man is still alive

It always tilts me when Ceasar talks us down in the vanilla game, even though out character single handely screwed his best soldiers and can easily tear the whole camp apart. I wish there was a way to talk back to him other than the one terrifying presence dialogue

What I love about Joshua Graham as a video game character is that he's just a human. no super powers, no magic, no divine intervention. He survived being set on fire AND thrown into the Grand Canyon, and people have every reason to believe that he shouldn't physically be alive.
Joshua had his skin melted off his body, his bones broken from the fall, and still walked on shattered legs 400 Miles over 3 months back to New Canaan. He only lived by Divine intervation. "I survived because the fire inside me burned brighter than the fire around me. I fell into that chasm, but the flame burnt on and on. The fire that had kept alive was love, their love, God's love.' Joshua HIMSELF states that he only survived because God forgave him, and gave him a chance to atone for all the sins he had commited. Joshua only lived because God saw in him a chance to repent and find forgiveness

I took his “Never tried. Could have. No good would come of it” as meaning “I could have tried, but I know it would’ve been a waste of effort” rather than “I could have killed him but chose not to”
Caesar doesnt want people to talk about it because he essentially ended up burning and tossing his buddy and knows that if Joshua is alive, hes gonna come back with a vengeance and kill him
It's a bit of a shame they didn't give Caesar more dialogue in Graham considering no one was closer to him than Caesar. A speech check at least would have been nice to hear his perspective on Graham.

I decided to kill Joshua in my Legion playthrough. Not a lot of reaction from anyone, Caesar was completely unphased by my character wearing Joshua's armor right in front of him. Disappointed
The most likely explanation is that they couldn't wrangle old VAs just to record a few extra lines for reaction, either due to time or money. The in -game explanation which actually makes very good sense is given by Ulysses who essentially says that for Caesar to acknowledge you killing Joshua would be to admit that Joshua survived the grand canyon; and to Caesar, that would be admitting that he failed.

@Homer First time I played Honest Hearts with a Legion character, I took the opportunity to learn from former Legate Joshua as he was their best warrior. It was a "pet the dog" moment. The White Legs are not fit for Caesar's Legion and don't get integrated no matter what you do so looking down upon them is one way you can think about it and Joshua appreciates your help

I feel like he has to already know. Joshua just went back to the Mormons-never really went into hiding. Hell, he and Daniel are missionaries, so he was practically going around announcing his presence by trying to convert people. There’s no way Caesar doesn’t already know.
I really wish that there would have been unique dialogue if you met Graham before you meet named legionaries. Say something like “Joshua Graham lives.” Kinda like how you can tell the Brotherhood and/or Institute about Acadia in Far Harbor. Either to ask for a reward to “slay the legend”, or to put just a bit more weight in their pants that a ghost of vengeance may come knocking.
I honestly can't imagine playing the game under Caesar's boot. I only just played FNV for the first time about 2 years ago and by the time I got to Caesar I was already super high level and had destroyed the BOS so I wasn't about to take shit from his old ass. After I activated the underground mainframe with the platinum chip I killed the entire Legion camp, then blew Benny's head off and as far as I'm concerned that was the end of my courier's story. House got what he wanted, I got my revenge on Benny so there was no reason to stick around in Nevada anymore. I like to imagine the Courier went off east into Colorado in search of more work.

He doesn't really agree with any faction anyway. He obviously hates the Legion. He views House as similar to Caesar becuase of how he handled the Three Families when they were tribes, but does remark "it's too bad." Fianlly he is pessimistic about NCR. He thinks they are better than the other two, but believes their leader's greed and corruption will tear them apart eventually. Graham isn't a Independent Vegas supporter either, he just doesn't care, which is understandable considering fighting for the Mojave scarred him the way it did, he just wants to stay out of it.

The Legion obeys Lanius due to the fear he imposes among soldiers, however, even after "death", the same soldiers keep viewing Graham with respect. When it comes to icons or military forces, Lanius becomes strength, but Joshua becomes raw power.
Hanlon sent NCR elites to assassinate Graham 5x and still walk away from it. Thats like getting a death sentence 5x and surviving it all. No wonder all of the legion are scared shitless of Graham.

Joshua has actually effective armor, not a bunch of cosplay bs. And he also uses "inferior" guns. Lanius goes monkey mode and tries melee combat and Joshua shoots him dead. End.

I decided to kill Joshua in my Legion playthrough. Not a lot of reaction from anyone, Caesar was completely unphased by my character wearing Joshua's armor right in front of him.
Disappointed
The most likely explanation is that they couldn't wrangle old VAs just to record a few extra lines for reaction, either due to time or money. The in -game explanation which actually makes very good sense is given by Ulysses who essentially says that for Caesar to acknowledge you killing Joshua would be to admit that Joshua survived the grand canyon; and to Caesar, that would be admitting that he failed.
@@hellpwn3391 but the thing is - Caesar _kinda_ knows that old Josh survived, hence why he sends his agents after him from time to time, one after another. I'm even convinced that he may have used the Whitelegs for the same purpose.

@Homer First time I played Honest Hearts with a Legion character, I took the opportunity to learn from former Legate Joshua as he was their best warrior. It was a "pet the dog" moment. The White Legs are not fit for Caesar's Legion and don't get integrated no matter what you do so looking down upon them is one way you can think about it and Joshua appreciates your help

There's several case similar like that irl afterall, some racing driver crashed out then subconsciously walk out to safety behind the guardrail then passed out until he was discovered by medical team.

I really wish that there would have been unique dialogue if you met Graham before you meet named legionaries. Say something like “Joshua Graham lives.” Kinda like how you can tell the Brotherhood and/or Institute about Acadia in Far Harbor. Either to ask for a reward to “slay the legend”, or to put just a bit more weight in their pants that a ghost of vengeance may come knocking.

I honestly can't imagine playing the game under Caesar's boot. I only just played FNV for the first time about 2 years ago and by the time I got to Caesar I was already super high level and had destroyed the BOS so I wasn't about to take shit from his old ass. After I activated the underground mainframe with the platinum chip I killed the entire Legion camp, then blew Benny's head off and as far as I'm concerned that was the end of my courier's story. House got what he wanted, I got my revenge on Benny so there was no reason to stick around in Nevada anymore. I like to imagine the Courier went off east into Colorado in search of more work.

Sad indeed.
He doesn't really agree with any faction anyway. He obviously hates the Legion. He views House as similar to Caesar becuase of how he handled the Three Families when they were tribes, but does remark "it's too bad." Fianlly he is pessimistic about NCR. He thinks they are better than the other two, but believes their leader's greed and corruption will tear them apart eventually. Graham isn't a Independent Vegas supporter either, he just doesn't care, which is understandable considering fighting for the Mojave scarred him the way it did, he just wants to stay out of it.

The Legion obeys Lanius due to the fear he imposes among soldiers, however, even after "death", the same soldiers keep viewing Graham with respect. When it comes to icons or military forces, Lanius becomes strength, but Joshua becomes raw power.
Hanlon sent NCR elites to assassinate Graham 5x and still walk away from it. Thats like getting a death sentence 5x and surviving it all. No wonder all of the legion are scared shitless of Graham.
I really wish you could press Caesar on Joshua and not just change the subject. Kinda lame.
