So much respect for this woman.She knows there are limitations to what she is doing so it's also great that she isn't the "crazy" cat lady. Cats do deserve just as much respect that dogs deserve. All animals should be loved and well cared for if you have the means to do so.

i would LOVE to volunteer at a shelter like this! that lady is so awesome, i wish we had more people with the same true love for cats
I currently own 17 cats. Haha. I have a fenced in outside enclosure when you step out of my backdoor that 11 twelve week old kittens live in, I found them at a tire shop. And I have a mother and 3 three week old kittens in my bedroom, I got the mother off the streets and she was pregnant. The mother and the 3 babies will join the other 11 in the enclosure when they're old enough. And soon I'm getting 4 more kittens from a family that can't care for them anymore. I also have my personal pets 2 cats, and 4 dogs. They're all from shelters, and rescued off the streets. I just really feel like I should do good in the world. And a rescued pet is always most loyal and thankful pet there is. I love taking in all these animals. I'll do it for the rest of my life, as long as I can afford to, I'll do it.
5 dogs now. Lol.
Also I have a lot less cats now, everybody knows outside cats don't live near as long as inside kitties. Mine lived for quite awhile, the statistics for outside cats are only 2 years, inside cats are around 15 years. My outside cats live around 5-6 years some live a little longer.
Personally, I want two cats a turtle and a pug. Then my life is complete.

I hope you get one soon oh and you should probably get a cat about 3 years old that's good enough for it to listen to you and that's the age for you to raise it to be a good and loyal cat
I had the privilege to be the crazy cat lady with 17 cats and a dog.All the kids in my old neighbourhood knew where to bring an abandoned or unkeepable cat and I miss having a living fur blanket to sleep under.I now have just 3 black cats so my rescue urge still continues just in smaller numbers.Oh,I also feed a feral or two.
Two years ago while visiting family in California I was able to spend 2 days at the Cat House on the Kings. It is a wonderful place to visit and volunteer. All cats and dogs are given incredible love and care. I visited every outside area and buildings that the cats and dogs live in. Every area is clean and the animals are well taken care of. If I lived near the shelter I would be a volunteer but since I live in NY I am able to send donations. When I retire in a few years I hope to spend some time each year at the shelter as a volunteer.
I have 3 adopted cats and contribute in many ways to my community animal shelters in Rochester.
I would love to open a place like that!
Right now I have a nine month old kitten and an 8 week kitten. I like keeping the number small so I can give them all my attention.
I had an 8 week manx kitten, but he ended up having manx syndrome and had to be put down.
I currently own 11 cats. Three of them I bought off my sister. One I rescued before it was sent to the pound pregnant with it's 8th litter. Of those 6 kittens, one went to my mums, and I've since seen one "home". I have added 3 to my crew from people calling me up begging me to take them because they couldn't keep them. So my current total is 11 and I've told everyone no more. All but 3 of mine are fixed and those are my newest three girls. I couldn't imagine living without them. If I had more money, i'd have more cats. Oh yea....and i have a pug and a lab hahaha!
I don't know how many I could take care of but I do love them and I want a lot of cats!
I had 32 cats at one point so I know that I can take care of that many along with 2 dogs and a horse. Never had less than 3 in the 13 years that I have owned these amazing animals. Currently have 15 cats though 6 are not mine, they are strays, three of which my neighbors abandoned when they moved away a couple of weeks ago. I also own 4 Dogs and still 1 horse :)

i can't stand people who don't spay and neuter. it just pisses me off and makes me think there's something seriously wrong with you.
I have three cats - one a mom we found on the street half starved, the other two babies of hers that we couldn't find homes for - and I can barely take care of them! Maybe if I had more land, where they would be free to roam around outside, like the cats at King.
Wow that's really nice that she is saving 1,000 cats and giving them a nice home.

we currently have 8 cats. I agree with this lady when she says if cat owners were more responsible and spayed and neutered and respected their animals and cared for them instead of dumping them when they can't be bothered to care for them anymore there wouldn't be this huge problem! I'd love to one day set up a humane cat sanctuary

Got 3 cats, small house though and they don't get along with eachother as well as I wish they would. Before I was born there were around 10 (including a litter of kittens) around the house - can't imagine the chaos!
Well I got 4 cats and it really isn't that bad to take care of them. Just the cost of food and litter (since they are only indoor) are a bit pricey at times. On the family farm there's at least 20 roaming around, and they mostly hunt rodents anyways.
I've had up to 40 cats at one time. I love them. Of course, I live on a farm in the middle of nowhere so there's plenty of space to roam. The only problem I've ever had is coming up with so many names. But they're all happy and I'm happy. :)

I have 1 cokatiel 2 budgies 1 chihuahua 1 rottweiler and 1 neutered cat and im 13 years old I wake up every morning to feed every single one of them before I go to school
I have two pit-bulls one rabbit three ferrets(ferrets not parrets) three fish and I'm getting a maltese. Plus I rescued a three kittens and I have two frogs and one gecko. I'm only 11. I am a animal lover

I would be honored to take care of this many cats! I have 26 and i think thats way way to little. I would adopt all of them if i could right now. I also remember when i saw a show on animal planet and when that aired she had 800 not over 1000!!! that is cra cra. #CatFanatic

My boyfriend and I have done animal foster and rescue for over 10 years. the most we had at one time was 37 cats and 3 dogs. currently it's 20 cats and 2 dogs. ^_^ it can get hard helping all of those animals. especially when the money comes out of your own pocket. one day we hope to be able to do something similar to what this lady is doing. but adding pitbulls to it. My wallet may be empty, but My heart isn't! ^_^

When I was younger we had 7 cats running around our house, it was fun but I think I'm much more content with the 2 I have now(and my puppy and geckos). :)
I have only one cat and its very difficult to take care of 1000 cats ....but she is doing very good job .🙂

If spay and neutering wasn't so expensive in most areas, more people would do it. Assistance programs to help cover the costs are few and far between, and those that are present usually have hoops you need to jump through. In this area spaying a female is anywhere from $85 to $110... for ONE FEMALE. Even more expensive if the cat is already pregnant when you bring it in for a spay since they have to abort the fetuses. Spay and neuter, easier said than done.
I hate the fact that cats aren't popular pets here in Mexico. They aren't common in pet stores.

As an animal rescuer ive had many animals including a horse that became blind deaf and blind dogs and cats an albino skunk that had been locked in ex husband grandmothers gazebo a pot belly pig that was so clean so smart and who really owned my heart bird's and any other creature that needed help. all my dogs and cats were always spayed or neutered. I once had 13 cats indoor only and my only problem was their letting me sleep in my bed lol. I loved them dearly as I did all my other fur or feathered babies. my vet once told me I ran a rehab home for animals.

Those were my rescues during my lifetime. i never got rid of any animal once i took it until it passed away always of old age. i now only have two cats and they are the loves of my life. i always loved all my pets from the largest to the most small equally and felt blessed to have them.

My neighbors have 15 cats, my grandparents have 5, and I have 1 (but it's like taking care of 20 cats).
I am the cat whisperer. I know how to communicate with cats on a different level than most people. I have one cat that I taught how to take care of itself. She eats rats, drinks out of the river, and when she has to go, she goes. If I can teach about 20 cats to do that, I would give myself the cat trainer badge. :3

I've taken care of 18. It was easy when the majority of them were outdoors.
I currently have 8 cats and two dogs. And we have quit a big house and we let are cats outside and they are all get along quit well to so its not that hard. but indeed they is quit a lot of things to take care of, but it all come down to cats i mean you can't refuse them. :)

2 of my cats were Feral kittens.Shadow and Princess..1 is a kitten (now grown) born from one of the feral kittens princess...All sterilised Happy.....I feed 4 strays..2 young cats..ans 2 little kittens from one of the strays...I can never ignore an animal...But I could never be over run by them...Theres a limit of cats you know you can handle..After that its abuse if you cant...5 was mine..But Unfortunately ..2 Vanished..Tiger and Thomas.(also kittens but grown and born from princess)..now i have three...

We just rescued a fluffy tomcat named Scruffy. That brings our total up to nine.
At the most I could take care of is 15 and that would be some hard work.

I got 3 cats but they live outdoors. They have a heated house to go in, and our pest population is almost non exsistant.
