Brandon will be happy to know it. One of my buddies told me sometimes he reads a few comments here. I don't know if it was just joking and even if I didn't believe it who knows? The voice gets beautiful each year I agree with that.
Brandon has such a unique style. Most singers who use a vibrato do so in something of a eight-note-triplet. Brandon sings his vibrato in sixteenth notes, and to a trained ear, it makes his voice very unique
I would venture to say it's even unique to the untrained ear so far as that one could appreciate his voice including deeming it unique, but just not fully understanding why and/or how to qualify it as such.
I'm 36 yrs old and I've followed Incubus from day one. I'm a huge fan of all of their albums but I must say this song is the song of all songs from Incubus.
This song is special to me, in 2012 when I was graduating from high school... Everyone had to choose an entrance song and I was almost sure it would be this song but when it came time to say the song I decided to choose another song.. It was like I should remember this song as a sentimental memory and not as my graduation entrance song
My parents never really got along, always arguing and fighting. During the times before their break up, we would go on road trips. I was about 4 or 5, and my dad would always ask me what I wanted to hear. I always picked the little white cd with black writing all over that I didn't know how to read yet. This was the second song on it, and my favorite one. When my mom and dad broke up, my dad would listen to the cd, and I could tell he was sad. I had limited visitations with my mom, and I would occasionally say stuff like, "I had a dream some bad men came and took you away from me and I cried" and "please come back, mommy". Eventually, something clicked. My parents got back together after many, many...humerus, in a way, events. I can recite that time of my life like a poem. But that wasn't all. My parents finally got married. And i, a little 5 year old flower girl, thanked all the guests by giving them rose petals, hehe. For the last couple of years, I've been looking for the cd. It contained so many memories.. My dad would always say he wasn't sure where it was, but if he saw it he'd give it to me. A few days ago, he walked into the house and handed it to me. It was in the glove box of his car the whole time, and he knew it. He said that it reminded him too much of the pain he went through with my mom for him to listen to, but since I liked it I could have it. But I said, "it shouldn't be painful. It should remind you how far we've come". I love incubus. ❤❤❤
I saw incubus with deftones a long time back and it is for sure in my top 5 shows ever attended. Incubus never gets old. Ever. (Or deftones. They’re my fave 😂)
Too many times the world never gets to meet the most amazing people. Im so glad the whole world got to meet Brandon Boyd. He is a beautiful and kind soul. A voice for the voiceless, a safe place for the most tormented souls. In a world where a person can chose to be anything, thank you endlessly for choosing to be my beloved. Live long and prosper. X
I'm sooo inlove with this song. Incubus has a magical way of creating music and catchy lyrics that will make their fans and listeners always dig into their craft. Their albums are treasures buried underneath the mediocrity of music industry nowadays. One of the still best bands of the 21st century.
I was lucky to see Incubus perform live (alongside Linkin Park back in 2012, a two-headliner show), and Brandon Boyd (as well as Chester Bennington) had a BEAUTIFUL singing voice in live performance. I was blown away, sooo good live.
una hora antes de mi cumpleaños numero 24 me cante esta canción a todo pulmón, estoy orgullosa de este grupo, siempre están en constante cambio pero nunca han traicionado sus propias creencias
😭I remember loving this song particular when I was 23yrs going into 24 in a toxic relationship ❤ still miss those days 😢🤯😵 Now 35 Better than ever ❤️🙏🏻 How time flies 🥺 ❤️ Incubus
people can be so stupid saying, this is not incubus..or..that they have changed so much since Morning view, Gosh, the incubus essence is still there..if you are really a fan you would not care the fact that they have to evolve and try different things...their essence is there...i love this song...all the recent stuff is pretty cool...i enjoy Brandon's voice and all the works from the band too...come on..grow up people. Incubus is still an amazing band and there is new material coming next year and i will be buying that cd as soon as is out. INCUBUS ROCKS!
This is funny to me just because when Morning View came out was when I first thought "they changed," so you're making me feel old. Truth is they have changed, several times, but they haven't lead me astray yet.
I have been to 13 incubus concerts since 2002, and this concert, well this tour, was THE BEST ONE ever. The ambiance was unreal and because this album was so underrated I felt like only THE TRUE FANS showed up and we were all on cloud 9 singing along. It was a really low key, mellow vibe and you could feel positive, loving and warm energy throughout the room. It was perfect.
One of the best incubus song.It make feel relaxing feel free.. Brandon Boyd vocals is like medicine that can make use free from depress and feeling lonely.
+mattmaniac1980 Hello, what can I do to "make the best of my youth"? I'm turning 18 in less than 2 weeks (just to give you an idea) still in senior high (I still feel like a child though). I just wanna follow the normal, ordinary, the-road-that-was-always-taken path. Live an innocent life with no regrets and dirt to my name. P.s. Huge fan of Incubus... Actually only musician I like.
Your math is way off man. I first heard this when it was originally released, I was 23. I'm now 29 so I have some good news for you. Time isn't going faster, you're just a lot younger than you think you are!
The flow and ambiance of an incubus song doesn't change, just because they themselves have. When I'm in the car and I ask what do you want to hear, and they reply "anything good" the first thing I'm going for is incubus.
This song actually took a couple listens 'cause I wasn't used to the sound, but over time it eventually grew on me. Now I'll be singing it for my church's music night on Sept. 29th! I'm really excited. Wish me luck! 😊
My wife worked with Sony records back when in cubs started and somehow got their demo album I knew the first time hearing it these guys were going to be huge
I have just been rejected for yet another scholarship. I'm listening to this because it stops me from feeling worse than I do now. Incubus always has this power of soothing me.

+Christy Rollman Yeah they make me think about the triviality of everyday routines. Didn't really help with finals though lol. I just kept saying, "they're so right. What am I doing? Why am I here?"

Brandon transcends lyric & note. There's not a more beautiful soul on the planet; and he's gorgeous, no matter what stage of life. Incubus will forever go down as one of THE greatest bands. 💗🔥🎶
I think most people don't appreciate the most recent Incubus material because it's a lot more calm, I find it's a lot more emotional, in turn making the music a lot more powerful, but I don't think you can compare their old stuff to their new, it's all different, something not a lot of bands do well, at least not as well as Incubus have here.
I swear this man's voice and face gets more beautiful each year.
with the looks it's all the opposite! Bad taste!
Borgirl83 To you maybe, I would eat him at any age! lol
Yes it sure does. He's so handsome as always

You know I've never liked incubus when I was younger but at 39 this is beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
Incubus music is like medicine, I feel it has the power to heal you no matter what you're going through.
2020 needs an incubus enema, maybe they will fix some shit for us lol this is my band I go to daily to make me feel better 🖤
Exactly
The magic medicine worked!

Brandon Boyd’s voice makes me so happy! Even after all these years.. This song puts me in such a good mood!

"10:24".
The best on the album, at least, I'd say! Classic for sure

What a Statment
Well put.
I disagree but in this case I think you're right

I remember when this came out and nobody showed it any love. 12 years later and people are like, "This song was a jam."
Same here. I played this over and over when this album dropped. ❤
Thank you! Now I know I’m not crazy.

Incubus allways have a song for how im feeling, my favourite band ever.
@Marissa They have, as of 2017, the album 8 which is their newest.
Mine too
Couldn't agree more with you; they are such beautiful creatures in the world of art and emotions.

Most of my good memories growing up involve incubus. I feel really grateful for that
Brandon’s voice is almost angelic…I’m glad they took the path they did and didn’t head down that rap-rock road (see science album).
I saw them in Los Angeles in 2015. Big Grams was on stage before them. One of the best times. Great band to see live.
