One example of how this idea worked for me. I used to consider myself a night owl. I would tell everyone "I am just not a morning person" and i had SUCH a hard time waking up in the morning. When i learned this concept I decided to become a morning person! "I am a morning person" became what I would tell people. And now 6 months later I wake up at 7am every morning and have a killer routine and feel so energized.

Love that! Out of curiosity would you mind sharing your killer morning routine? Mine sucks and I believe getting the day off on a positive note is so important!

@@JessyBassemmy two cents on it. You gotta say it even doe it hasnt happened yet. U gotta pretend like its happening in the present moment. Like " i am good enough" "i am a morning person " using " I AM " statements. Its sort of like being delulu. Eventually your body's behaviour starts to change to fit the statement. this is concept affirmations/ manifestation. To manifest something is not to wish really hard for something, it's to believe thats its already happening in the present moment.

I’m just gonna add a little bit of nuance to this for anybody who wants to read. I put on 15 pounds during lockdown. I was so unhappy with my overall health and how limited I was by my new range of motion or lack thereof. I felt unappealing to myself and I projected that onto my husband. So finally I had enough. It happened when I was trying to time a shoe and it was difficult to breathe while I was tying my shoe. The next day I said to myself no more eating before 9 AM and no more eating after 9 PM. I felt that was a very simple routine to get into and after a couple months it wasn’t even something I thought about anymore so when it ceased to be a mental block for me, I started to add in workouts. What I’m trying to say is if you’re the kind of person that is concerned about the motivation and it’s something you can’t get around, try looking at each step of the way as a thing to overcome and as those routines become habits that you no longer have to think about, it will slowly but surely make the progress towards your goal.

you missed the point entirely. Though as a fat dude I could use your will power. But the Ice Queen (my nickname for Margarita)O: has pointed to a no brainer short cut. Self concept or the way one see's oneself is like putting on a different track, a new song to dance to...I read all this stuff in psychocybernetics

Just wanted to drop a quick message to remind you that your self-concept has a significant impact on your life. How you perceive yourself affects your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, which in turn influences the outcomes you experience. So, remember to prioritize building a positive and empowering self-concept. You are capable of achieving amazing things, and your self-concept changes everything!

Cool, calm and collected! She is confident and comfortable in most situations, not much phases her. Strong and dependable. She is also comfortable in her own skin, not hung up on looks or how others perceive her. Won't take no shit from no one, unbreakable but still empathetic. She makes other people feel proud of themselves and capable, she gives them the incentive to grow and thrive. She is Healthy Happy and content with a feeling of oneness with the universe. She feels like a Queen!

I 100% agree. I used to be the biggest foodie in my entire family, and I loved meat dairy and eggs. Then one day I saw a health documentary and decided to go vegan that instant. I thought of myself as vegan, I watched what vegan athletes ate, what they do etc. even though I had slip ups but I still told everyone I was vegan. Sometimes I felt stupid because I had occasional slip ups but then now I have 0 slip ups and can resist the temptations like crazy. I am OBSESSED with plant based eating it’s crazy, and it’s rubbing off on my fam. Just decide what you are and the rest will follow.

Margarita thank you for doing this mental and emotional labor. This reminds me of a podcast I heard that said something similar: how to do what you want:
Intention isn’t enough, your belief/belief system is necessary. Your self concept doesn’t only have to be about your self image but about the values you hold dear like being healthy etc. which directly relates to the self concept of course

Recommend the book "atomic habits" which talks alot about the blue print we have about ourselve and the identity that is tied to those habits.
