  • Cleveland-based artist William Scheele passed away on December 12th 2022. Bill Scheele was raised in a culturally aware family, his father was the head of the Natural History Museum in Cleveland until 1972. Bill and his brother are perhaps best known for their involvement with the Band and Bob Dylan. I conducted this interview with Bill Scheele on July 3rd 2009 at his Kokoon Arts Studio in the 78th Street Studios in Cleveland Ohio. The studio's name was an homage to the Kokoon Arts Klub (1911 - 1940) in Cleveland which was a society dedicated to Modernism beliefs. During our Kenversation, Scheele recounted his upbringing, artistic ethic, his time in the inner circle of The Band and Dylan, the 40th anniversary of Woodstock, the hippie ethic and ideal and more. RIP William Scheele! #williamscheele #cleveland #interview #bobdylan #theband #robbierobertson #levonhelm #rickdanko #richardmanuel #garthhudson #woodstock #art #artist #kendixon #kenversations
"Eye See Music" was the moniker I used prior to "Cleveland Live Music". It was the name of the local access cable show I produced in the late-1980's.

Great, revealing video of a very talented, most-fascinating local guy who worked and lived alongside Rock royalty… RIP, Bill!…

What an incredibly-genial man Bill was: I’m amazed at his keen intelligence, generosity, and facile quality of articulation…

I enjoy the fact that as an interviewer you didn’t step all-over his replies, allowing him to elaborate on your questions…

Thanks. I try to be quiet when doing talking to folks. Sometimes I fail....editing can be painful. But it also reminds me to clam up.
