Scroobius is like a hidden gem of the music world. Every song is unique, yet relatable and enjoyable.
I discovered him when he was singing a letter from god to man. He sang that song at one of Amanda Palmers concerts. Not many knows her, but Shes a great singer, my favorite by her is trout heart replica and in my mind.

I remember when my teacher made us listen to this 9 years ago and for some reason the lyrics "get better get better get better" came into my head so I searched for it.
I never understood it back then and took the piss out of it with my friends, but now I'm grateful for that teacher (I forgot which one specifically) who made us listen to this

For context, I’m 70-ish years old, raised in conservative, southern USA, and was a schoolteacher for eighth and ninth graders in the last part of the 1970s.
At its core, I think this song is appropriate for any age group where the kids are already aware of contraception. Beyond that, there’s no foul language, and it articulates
excellent ethical propositions and challenges.
Check your local school board temperature before trying this out in your classroom room.
The message of this song is powerful. It inspires me to look past the insults and rumors, to move away from the expectations and norms of society, to become who I want to be. I find it a song of hope, and a song of understanding.

I dig all music honestly, hands up I could be caught singing "I'm a Barbie Girl in Barbie world, made of plastic, lifes fantastic" but will also admit its the most pathetic piece of artistry and is a generic pop bubble, but songs like this, "Get Better" are lyrically and poetically joyous with a melody si uplifting it's a message that should be Prime minister at number 10 if it was somehow possible! 😂 😂 But did it get massive airplay? Did it fook, mainstream would class this as rubbish and that is a sad reflection on the state of the place! 😂
I just recently found Pip and to be honest, I really love his lyrics and the music. He's by far my favorite new artist I've found in a long time. He always has a great message, great videos and attitude. I also spied Pussycat from the Dirty Johnsons, also awesome. Great job, guys. (repost)

Ten years on, and still a very valid song
I've been listening to this song every single day for the past two years at least. I love it, the message, the beats, the lyrics. Thank you, Dan and Pip for writing about the truth, about the things that are relevant to the way we live our lives and most importantly, for making us look at the way we use class, age and education to excuse the fact that we're afraid of taking responsibility for ourselves and lives.

Because humans just follow whatever looks nice but lose interest quickly whether it's because something more interesting showed up or because it becomes too much of a chore. It is certainly a qualified diagnosis of the condition. I suffered from severe depression a few months back. I can tell you that I never wanted to leave my bed, my future was bleak, and I didn't listen to anything anyone had to say purely because I wasn't able to respond appropriately or concentrate on it. Undoubtedly you weren't in a great position either, but it wasn't depression.
Regardless, I'm glad the song helped you.

not true though. of course what you make from your life has a lot to do with self-motivation, but -- being poor vs being rich -- the prospects on life that you internalise from a young age are just not the same. your level of self-motivation can highly depend upon the class you were brought up in.

My teacher put this on in one of our lessons and then started to sing along. It was the best lesson ever.
I kinda grew up with the lyrics of this in mind (20 years earlier), "the system might fail you, but don't fail yourself" "criticism should be instructive and teaching should not be about following instruction" "that you should grow up first before bringing someone into the world to grow up" I think it did me well. I hope I can teach this to my son and I wonder if he will see me as I saw my dad or if he will see me as I see myself.
