I think dialogue and the marketplace of ideas are beautiful and a Christin principles, and I wouldn’t characterize your participation as shoving your beliefs on me. Much love friend
It's a park that people want to enjoy. Why should they have to be bothered listening to your foolishness that you think is right? If you want to preach rent a building and have people come there don't bother people who don't care what you think!
Technically, to your point, it doesn’t matter what people think or like, because of the important of the right of speech, its function, and traditional forum. Only people ignorant of history would argue otherwise. Secondarily, I am sensitive to not set up in a place that would cause undue annoyance to people who are not interested.
Don’t bother explaining to this person. They have no clue what the Constitution is let alone the Rights of the People that are codified within it. This person is a selfish fool as evidenced by their comment. How about if you don’t like the message, you say something like “I don’t agree with you” as you walk by? That’s what I do. We are both well within our rights to do that. But perhaps walking by is beyond your grasp, like a moth to a flame.
You don't have to listen to it. You can keep walking and go on about your day. Why do I have to read your foolishness you think is right? See how this works?
