Ladies, I was absolutely hooked by your updates throughout the original trial and the main reason was because it wasn't skewed in any way. You reported the facts every day and let the listener make up their own minds. Thank you for such a riveting series. I cried so much listening to it and one thing it never was, was skewed. You did a brilliant job! Thanks for this latest update, I've been waiting for it. Heartbreaking and I still don't want to believe she did it...

For the parents. If it was your child, you would want answers and justice in your child's name. The prosecution felt they could do this despite the hung jury on the verdict in the first trial, and they did.

Having worked for the NHS for the whole of my career, and I'm now able to retire, I can say with absolute conviction that Lucy has been scapegoated for systemic failings of the CoC Hospital.
The sewage that contaminated the pipes and sinks etc would have undoubtably left bacteria in the water that staff washed their hands in, prior to undertaking invasive procedures such as the insertion of an umbilical venous catheter.
They were caring for babies that they weren't staffed or equipped to care for - babies that were severely premature with the odds of survival stacked against them.
I'm still mystified as to why Ben Myers KC did not call the pathologists who conducted the postmortems to give evidence and challenge the presumptions of Dewi Evans - who only had the medical notes with which to draw his conclusions and dismiss the findings of several pathologists.
And the statistical evidence only serves to prove that Lucy was 100% on duty when she was meant to be. Why, oh why, did the defence not call a statistician to the witness box?
Imagine the litigation and the compensation, for all the families whose babies died, if Lucy had been rightly found innocent and an inquiry found the trust had been negligent and failed in its duty of care. The NHS couldn't allow that, now could it?
No! I hope you listened to EVERYTHING said in the first trial. NO BACTERIA was found in the babies stomachs. PREMATURE NEWBORNS SCREAMING IN AGONY AS TORTURED. Where was Letby…the first one in every time. Sometimes lurking over the cot. She was standing there watching a baby gasping for air when dr came into the room. The alarm should have been beeping but the alarm had been switched off. There were hundreds of these experiences. She took all the notes home over 250 of them and kept them in bags. She got caught out bare faced lying on numerous occasions. I heard every word of this trial. She was asked everyday. Do you think staff shortages played a part? She replied No every single time. She was caught out lying numerous times in her police interviews where she said everything was true. No it wasn’t, she was proved to be lying. I really hope you listened to the whole trial because if you didn’t you have no right to form an opinion.
@@Burglar-King look, I’m not going to get into an argument with someone who clearly has no clinical background. Other than to say, the pathologists found that some of the babies died from sepsis - and what do you think causes that? Bacteria was found in the blood, meaning the sepsis was systemic.
And FYI, everyone’s stomach and bowel contain bacteria.

@@bradleyday5829 yes, I’ve heard this from people who have read the online edition of the article, when it was available. Not sure where I can purchase a copy. I’ve had a look in WHSmith, and a few other magazine stores.
The article apparently cherry-picked evidence from the first trial in favour of Letby, and claimed the whole trial was a farce, when the authors know nothing about the judicial system in the UK.

I've listened to many podcasts.
There's one out at the moment that's now up to it's 20th episode.
It's called We Need To Talk About Lucy Letby
It features statistician Peter Elston an Dr Michael McConville.
It has everything covered, from the transcripts to the RCPCH report which for some reason, was never brought up in court, just like many other things that weren't brought up in court. Quotes from Jayaram that were never mentioned in court!!
What amazes me is the amount of people who clearly don't realise, or maybe don't want to realise, that the amount of people in the medical profession who are not happy with Lucy's conviction is growing all the time, much to the disappointment of the Prosecution, Goss, Cheshire Police an the NHS, this is never going to go away.

Since reporting restrictions have been lifted the prosecution case has fallen apart.

That is why I don't believe the court case, it stinks of corruption. These two play down the swipe data, they must be thick as mince as that part of the case collapses, or it certainly should have done.

I think LL should Sue The Countess of Chester for false accusations. She says she is innocent and she needs to have a voice. She collected paperwork all her life. The Prosecution cherry picked evidence but it needs to be put into context.

i think LL should rot forever. The case was meticulous, detailed and overwhelming conclusive that SHE IS A TAKER OF THE INNOCENT
The hospital fully backed her, they upheld her grievance, made the doctors write letters of apologies to her, and offered to pay for further her training, which would eventually lead to a promotion. I don't think she is going to get very far with that one!
So everybody is lying but her… she was the common denominator and also tried to throw her colleagues under the bus. All serial killers say they are innocent.

@@johndonaldson3619 The trials of Lucy Letby were very reminiscent of 17th Centruy witch trials, Dewi Evans could be the new Witchfinder General.
The babies Lucy was supposed to have murdered had post mortems and were found to have died from natural causes. Unless, of course, you prefer to believe a long retired, discredited paediatrician who fantasized about air embolisms and insulin poisoning.
