Family of baby Lucy Letby tried to kill expresses heartbreak: 'Devastated, angry, numb'

Lucy Letby has been found guilty of trying to kill a two-hour-old baby girl after a retrial at Manchester crown court. The infant, known as Baby K, was born 15 weeks premature after Letby allegedly tampered with her breathing tube.

The former neonatal nurse is already serving 14 whole-life prison terms after being convicted last year of murdering seven babies and attempting to murder seven others at the Countess of Chester hospital between June 2015 and June 2016. Letby was convicted on Tuesday following a retrial after a jury at her original trial was unable to reach a verdict

The evidence from Jayaram was certainly contradictory. But then Judge Goss almost directed the jury to find Lucy guilty, they certainly couldn't have found her guilty on the evidence in that trial.
