    I've just found this channel a month or so a go but have binged watched most of them. This is one of the first I've seen the audience and questioner listening so intently. Felt the spirit of the Lord in Cliffs explanations and even made sense of some things to me. Makes me want to talk to my brother again about his position in life.

    @onehappydawg The Bible is clear when it states that God created in 6 days and rested on the 7th. But for skeptics on the campus who say that science shows an old earth Cliffe opens up the possibility of poem and allegory and shows that either way God is creator and eternal. God can create either way. Jesus is still Lord and In Him, Through Him and To Him were all things made. Jn. 1

    Hello Cliffe, I really like your channel, and I am learning a lot. I do not agree on your genesis account. I am working on a 17th century roll play/re-enactment character that is taking the steps in Genesis literally, and by doing so, can predict what scientist today are actually discovering. My character can actually explain how planets are (plausibly) formed. No evolutionary scientist have clues about that.

    Let me start off by saying I like watching your videos and I like most of what you say, I believe it is true and accurate. I do have an question about what is being said at 08:08 mins. It sounds like you're saying that God did not create the world in six days. If that is true then are you not contradicting Exodus 20:11 where God himself is giving Moses the Ten Commandments?

    • @JohnjOcampo
      @JohnjOcampo ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a great question and your not wrong for being skeptical, obviously there is no proof that God created the earth in 6 days but we have to look at what the author of genesis was really trying to say.
      I think the author was using the regular work week as an analogy to the creation week and was not intending to teach that God actually created eveything in a six day period.
      I think God chose not to reveal modern scientific information to the ancient Hebrews but instead revealed it to them in a much simpler way so our brains can more easily wrap around the idea of creation.
      Not even the most devoted Christians can fully understand God but if we put our faith in Jesus Christ then things will start to become much clearer.

    Onehappydawg asked if Cliffe contradicted Exodus 20:11 (wherein God is said to have created the world
    in six days and rested on the seventh), when Cliffe stated the fact that Genesis 1 is poetry. No, Cliffe didn't contradict Exodus 20:11 by stating the fact that Genesis 1 is poetry, because Exodus 20:11 is nothing more than an indirect reference to the poetry in Genesis 1, and such an indirect reference to that poetry is perfectly in line with what Cliffe stated about Genesis 1.

    To to know about God we have to look at Jesus these days, his life, death and resurrection. The world was made through Jesus Christ. Sin has deformed us but Jesus came to transform the body, soul, and the spirit and our twisted minds too. see www.gotquestions.org

    Genesis 1 and 2 are historical. I'm suprised someone as well known as Cliffe hasn't come across the KJV only controersy, because if he had, he'd be KJV only. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth roughly 6,000 years ago. I don't blame Cliffe holding to the old earth belief though, if he didn't, and exposed the errors of the evidence showing old earth creation, universities wouldn't allow him to speak on campus at all... Evolutionists need an old earth, otherwise it just sounds ridiculous (not that it doesn't sound ridiculous anyway).

      ***** Look up a Bible geneology chart, it doesn't simply say Jesus was the son of David. The Bible whittles down the gaps to around 140 years I beleive

    • @dccrazy527
      @dccrazy527 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HoopLah clunk If you read the beginning of the Gospel, in Matthew, then you will read the list of genealogy at the very beginning. Very surprised a believer would actually claim such a thing, especially considering the historical evidence is printed right in front...

    @askcliffe I cant believe what im hearing from you in this and other videos. you said that Genesis is not historical but its poetry. that is not true and it makes no sense. read your bible Jesus confirmed Genesis and said that Adam was the beginning. you are trying to mix fake science of today with the bible and that does not work.

      This is the astounding Part.
      He quots it as poetry describes it as parallelism then he will tell you that Adam and Eve he believes to be true and accurate historical figures of scripture and that they did exist but never touches on their creation

      Seemingly modifying the text to represent a more believable easy to digest narrative.
      Hard to determine the value of the representation.
      Going from poetry and parallelism to factual and historical within one chapter.
      I watch Cliff for the attributes and values that he is well versed in I leave behind the rest with? I haven't found it possible to apply this scripture in his contacts as it relates to the rest of the Bible.
      Seems like over time he's developed a believable story and maybe justifies it as an unimportant uncertainty.

    Hello Cliffe I've seen many of your videos and I just realized that you haven't talked about the "devil.". At the end of this video you talked about evil and again did not referenced the devil. It would be very convenient to dismiss the creation accounts as nothing but poetry.
    Buuuuut, if science is correct about the way God made the world, that means death, famine, disease, and suffering all came into the world BEFORE the Fall. That doesn't make any sense.
