Good stuff man. I’m wrapping my own stand and tank today, so I laughed when you said that part. Looking forward to the next update!
Your tank looks good too. Cant wait to see Nelly and Bruce in your plywood tank.
Probably the cleanest plywood aquarium I've ever seen, phenomenal job Joey! 🔥
You're so excited Joey! Love that energy
I flatout giggled when you said that you prefer water inside of the aquarium. 😂 Love your builds!!❤
i love that you got me so deeply in love with the aquarium hobby. My love for fish tanks can be traced back to you almost entirely and i cant thank you enough for the years of entertainment and information that you have provided
Joey, I love it. The black with that incredible blue is insane! The top of it is equally great and pleasing to the eye. Love and Peace.
This build is FREAKING AMAZING!!!!
This might be your best build video. Tons of good info and it looks great!
As a carpenter I love these types of builds. One question..... did you use stainless steel or aluminium fixings? Even under epoxy steel will rust in time.
Awesome build man can’t wait to see it complete.
This looks so good! I can't wait to see the finished product
Thanks for this Joey 🙌🏾
Hey Joey thank you for sharing and its looking amazingly great......
Absolutely love this build!
BRO! Amazing job especially with the staggered plywood seams. Glad you never lost your love for designing and building stuff!
The tank is looking awesome. I can't wait to see it finished.
Great job mate. It's better to overengineer and be patient, plan beforehand with a job like this, than be impatient, rush because you're eager then possibly have a leak in the middle of night or when you out shooting pool with buddies. Then in hindsight you think I should of did this to prevent that. What I took away from this and my own experience, is patience, forward thinking and research what you don't know will reward you in the end. Can't wait for final result. DIY is back😎👍
And here I was thinking you’d just decided to take a few holidays. One day at a time and we’ll all be cheering for you!
So excited for you Joey!!!
What an amazing thing dude!! You have the creative eye for the hobby for sure!!👍 I can’t wait to see the end product. It makes me want to make my own😎
Or you can join the members only, already see all this along with where the aquarium current state.
Fired Up Build!!!
Joe u done a phenomenal job🎉🎉🎉. ❤ it
Insane build!
Amazing, I love this tank more than any other, I think this will be my next project, a little bit smaller do 😅
looks great joey
Always nice builds 🔥🔥🔥
Oh my goodness the ending is so close but so far away, hurry up Joey, I’m getting too old for this 🙂
I love this built Joey
That looks so awesome nice job 👍
I missed you at the Hamilton aquarium club auction! Of course the only one I didn't go to 🙄
Can not wait to see it stocked 👍😎
Amazing 🎉
Ooooo getting exciting joey xxx
Awake at 2am Australia 🇦🇺 just to watch your video ❤️ I’m loving this Joey! Keep it up! You are a fish keeper inspiration!
Now, this is the Joey I’ve become accustomed to… great job and video!
Nice!!👍
Early club 🎉
Mehoy minoy
I love the blue color 💙
Awesome work :) 👍
My mind can’t wrap around how these wood tanks don’t leak 😂😂😂. Time to build one I think.
my favorite tank yet
I love how big you have become Joey since i last checked in on ya.
Corner trim would be a better solution if you want to get those corners completely sealed like you want to achieve it with those straps. 1. It is one piece, and 2 it handles movement better
This looks incredible. lol the shade thrown at aquarium domain for exposed wood. This is really good , better than I thought it would look. Very permanent and can’t wait to see the ecosystem inside it
Great video again !! Never fail!! The wait was worth it. Only TH-camr that I can watch the entire video without skipping or cutting it short. Keep them coming my guy! Btw your wife’s channel has a lot of potential, she just needs a few Joey ideas to get in the right direction.
"I prefer my water inside the tank".... Aquarist quote of the year!! lol
Try triangle silicone bead doesn't trap air it's how we glue windshield in
Awesome can’t wait to c what fish going in there😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
This tank is awesome❤ I‘m planing a 3000gal.
I kinda wanna build one of those now!
flush cut router bit will give you a much cleaner cut on the viewing panel then a reciprocating saw...
Done.
Except for testing, plumbing, filtration, electrical, bottom substrate, plant media, fish, etc.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I would’ve used pressure clamps the big ones from DeWalt two by fours are good idea for the bottom of the glass
Finally doing what I would have done with your fish room. A few huge aquariums instead of a ton of smaller ones. Water is easier to maintain and you can have much cooler more realistic biomes in the larger tanks.
I like the plywood braces way better than 2x4 braces. It will never split
Love the tank !!! I'm not a fan of the blue paint
Looking great so far but kind of fish are you going to put in the tank?
Pretty impressive gotta say
Can't wait to see fish in that aquarium
Most likely guppies then in 2 months he will rip it all down
wow this is insane. dying to know what'll go in here too....
Joey its wise to try to predrill holes when you can also if your worried about splitting the wood heating up the screws will stop that 100 percent. That been said i love your channel and what you made
Ready for the Hot Plywood Summer! 👷
Looks great, just a thought. You love your large decoration pieces. Do you have enough room between braces to get those big pieces in the tank?
Joey Jesus of Fish Keeping and Awesome Builds!
Is the centre of that 16ft where all the 8ft plywood pieces meet? If so, you have built in a possible single central point of failure. Staggered joints, say 4ft 8ft 4ft and 6ft 4ft 6ft interfaced ply would remove the single point/middle flex point single point of failure?
no, its staggered. one side is longer than other. I did it as you mentioned. I figured the same thing.
Canadian: I would compare it to syrup.
Me: Of course you would lol.
Love it but not my taste in aquarium too chunky 😅but love the work keep it work joey u legend
could u please paint the gallery the same color as the 2000 and 16 foot, i know this is not that easy, but i think this would make every tank stand out even more. this itches me for so long hahahha
Those braces will stop a tremendous amount of light going into the tank👍
I hope this aquarium has a massive school of Cardinal Tetras, and is aquascaped like a wild river.
It looks great but I have a question.
Why press it against it?
Wouldn’t it be better to cut out a pocket (I guess that’s what it’s called) in the middle of the wood and fill it with silicone and then slide the acrylic panel down?
I don’t build anything and I enjoy your vids but I was just wondering.
Sick
I don't understand the extra wood around the seams? Isnt it usually sharp edges where epoxy fails? I reckon putting a piece of wood with a triangle profile around the seams would make more sense
💪🏻😎
Comparing whatever to syrup sounded so Canadian lol.
👏👏👏
This tank has been “done” in every video lol
❤❤
Still not sure its big enough to hold a Beta mind. :) really cool tank though looke amazing
Will that work for saltwater?
Put a dovii pair in there
10 min gang 💪
💪
I’m surprised you don’t make it out of some old dusty steel.🤣🤣💪
Place your bet people ..I give it two weeks and he will take it apart
Nice setup, but I def would have gone black on the inside. Not a fan of blue. Unless it's going to be marine, then maybe I'd be ok with it.
So rough looking did stevie wonder help
🐠🐠🐠😮😊❤🐟🐟🐟
Around 11:59 after viewing the bracing I was saying to myself, "Man, that is going to be solid. It'll be a tank". Then realizing I made a cringe dad joke.
Covering your seams with more seams is not the right answere. The best thing to use would have been bathroom water proofing paper
Why did you use blue? The inside would have looked so much better if black..
I thought that at first too but then just excepted it. Maybe he’s going to have his kids paint plants in the background?🤷🏻♂️ Looks cool blue though!!
Don’t worry about the color, this will be replaced in a year or so 😛
Depth ...
A week @@matthewadams8294
Ha. You said hardwood
Ice-a-purple = isopropyl
Thats how i say it 🤷♀️

Or you’ll miss it!😂
Tank is too short looks silly.
Looking at that and comparing it to my plywood aquarium I can say you overbuilt it alot.
How about a series of trying not to overbuild.
I used quality birch ply. You probably call it Scandinavian.
I used 15 mm thick plywood and nothing else. The top is a plywood sheet with two holes. Then I used fiberglass and epoxy.
Albeit my aquarium is not just as big as yours it’s 295 cm long 53 cm high and 78 cm wide. The stand is overbuilt to prevent warping and there is foam in between. 12 mm thick opti white glass. Technically 10 would have been enough but tock 2 mm extra.
