Sam likely is the go-to canine expert on fish breeding -- he's very focused on everything you're doing! Watching fry you've bred and raised grow is so satisfying! These look like something to try!
Not anymore. Went there to check out some of his videos as I get ready to start trying to line breed some white clouds. He left all social media and unfortunately deleted all his videos.
Great little beginners fish that can handle quite cold water, we used to have these in wine barrels at the plant nursery I worked at, we used to give people a free scoop of young when they would buy a water plant, good for mosquito control but you just have to be careful they don't get into our waterways, there has been colonies in the past in some of our mountain streams from probably people releasing them, Thanks for sharing Nick always fun to watch.
I succeeded with your method. I found filling the entire bucket with moss and letting the fish swim inside for an hour worked more efficiently for me than having a mesh with the moss. They produce a greater yield. I had only 5 babies with the mesh after 3 days. then the next week I stopped using the mesh to sift eggs and got 12 appear after 3 days. Method worked great
Cheers from my fish room channel in Chicago, where I am a delighted subscriber to yours! I'm also happy you clarified that snails eat excess food rather than consume fish waste, which no snails do.
Tried this bucket recently with some newly bought white clouds. Have to admit the first few attempts with only a pair or 2 males and a female didn’t give me any success, however on the third attempt I put in a mixed group after a week or so of brine shrimp/daphnia feeding and got a massive spawn.
when i was a kid, we used to use green water, some filter grunge, and hard boiled egg yolk suspension to feed the 'bugs' as well as provide a 1st food for fry. (small (pea size) piece of hard boiled yolk, shaken thoroughly in water, fed by/in drops sparingly. worked a treat.-fed yolk suspension to corals, too. just fyi :) ). enjoyed the vid, as always.
Absolutely LOVE these popular smaller fish breeding projects. Im in the process of trying to breed the white clouds in my own tank! I cant wait! Also going to try to do some peppered corydoras! I can eatch these vids all day
Very enjoyable to watch. I don't think I will be doing this any time soon, but Your video made me want to get some baby shrimp going for my 29 gallon shrimp/endler tank, a jungle of frog bit roots hanging down, guppy grass, & java moss and a few other plants, driftwood, a little coral rock, anyway there are always fry hiding out in the plants, & baby shrimp is a good way to feed the shrimp & endler fry.& help them thrive.
Just the video I was looking for. I was going to attempt to breed my white clouds outside of there tank cause I haven’t had luck doing it naturally. I was going to use a tote but the bucket seems easier may give that a try. Thank you
Can you make a playlist of your bucket breeding videos? Makes it easy to search for a new project by combing through them whenever my bucket gets empty again 🤓
I have a question would an air driven automatic egg collector work for the White clouds? Like the one everyone using now for the Celestial Pearl Danios?
This workered perfectly. Got at least 100 fry and fed them using tge filter water + hornwort that I'd been culturing outside in a daphnia bucket! But I didn't cycle the growing put tank before harvesting eggs! Worried the little guys aren't gonna have a suitable home in a few weeks. But a breeding net/box in tge community tank might be alright??
Hello keepingfishsimple How did you paint al your aquariums black? Do you have tips for it , like how and what paint. I have doubts about it comes off with cleaning the back. And that would be bad for the fish. Kind regards Robert
hey mate, my ciclids have only breed once and weren't successful, and I was wondering if u have a video on breeding Aferican ciclids I live on the east coast of Australia
With regards to the nylon netting, is there a particular size of netting to get? I'm guessing large enough for the eggs to drop through but small enough so the fish cannot swim through? If so, what size would that be?
Hi, can you please do a in depth video of you’re l183 tank ? I can’t find solid info on perimeters and diet. Thank you (or at least respond on message) Thanks again
I got some that I’ve been wanting to do breed. Did you have more success with the pond basket or netting? I old so I’m so I can’t remember which one worked better 😂
I know this is about fish which I love. But, Is it movember already? 🤔Your face looks too young for a moustache somehow. I know you’ve done it before though. 😄 Anyway back to fish, this is my favourite content you put out. It’s what got me to subscribe pre getting the shop. I just can’t get enough of watching easy to do breeding projects and seeing all those tiny fry. 😊

“Filter Juice” I like that term
Also, filter gravy
I’ve been trying to find minnow breeding videos to do in my biology class for the last few days - this is incredible, thank you!

I like the “Breed in a bucket” videos
Hey, here in the US they make paint strainer bags that fit a 5 gal bucket perfectly, Might be easier than getting that flat screen to fit

Just put my males in with my females today, I did 4 girls and 2 boys. Golden white clouds

Well done Nick, this method will work for lots of egg scatterers, and both for the beginner and pro!
White Clouds are on of my favorite fish. I have a really nice line of long fins. For feeding the fry, I really like using green water.

My favorite aquarium fish.
For such easy fish, longfins are criminally rare
I've got longfins, they are a bit less sexually active it seems to me. I'll try this, it seems fun!
@@turtlerides they are an amazing aquarium fish :) I had a beautiful bloodline in with white "ghost" long fin danios. It was great
White clouds are so underrated. Cool, simple fish. ❤
This "filter juice" tip is so helpful! Thanks!

Peppered Corys (paleatus) are sooooo easy. They'll easily produce fry. Go for it. It's fun!👍

Hi, great Videos thank you. How do you do water changes in the bucket without sucking fish out?
Saw ya at the footy the other day man but didn’t wanna bother ya. Hopefully I can grab a photo with you next time !
Big up I watching on breeding different mate mix
Do this style of video with medaka
Medaka are different but you can take the eggs and hatch them separately

With regards to the nylon netting, is there a particular size of netting to get? I'm guessing large enough for the eggs to drop through but small enough so the fish cannot swim through? If so, what size would that be?
Mosquito net for mosquitoes should be fine
I’m curious about the results for the bucket vs tote.
The stache is back!
Lovely
That was great.
Dude, i just bought some this week 😂😂
Good video
Looking like Freddie Mercury 😂
when using the sponge filters waste as food how long can I use that until its not enough to supply the baby fish
You should try giving some feed after a few days and See if they eat
The stash is dope man

Came for the fish, stayed for the mustache
you have a rare pleco fish right there sir
Digging the mustache my guy.
No filtration needed?
mine reproduced in my minipond and im just let them being with the adults and they seems to be ok
what happened to the spawn in the styrofoam container? At the end of the video you couldn't see them anymore...

Do you sell white m. Minnows?
I breed mine in a tank with a ton of java moss
I was surprised mine had fry but I need more plants to hide them. They are all gone now
You need some plants at the surface too, which is where the fry hang out.
I have minnows in my tank, but I never tried to breed them, because I don't have space for all the new fish that I'll get
You can sell them when they are adults or give them to someone
🎉🎉🎉
keep the dog in videos lol
Needs a shark costume. 🦈
Nice😂😂😂❤❤
❤
His mustache and beard almost looks fake😂
Great video! Sam is a cutie
sorry i cannot take you seriously with that tash you got lmfao
I’ve had 35 white clouds males and females for months and they have never layed eggs
Are you sure they haven't? Could you have missed them?
yipiii
I can't catch them, to many plants, now they are stress.
A better ratio is 2 males to one female
like zebra fish
Who's this 3 eyebrowed man???
moustache you a question

Noooooo!!!!! Please get rid of the mustache. It takes away the beauty of your lush eyebrows. Please don't channel Groucho Marx.
HI um my name is Krysten Pelletier I don't believe in love at first but with you its undeniable you probably won't even see this.
