Abi Sweet Mamaye depends on what side of the war you see as the good side. I’m Somali so I’m going to see the life of that man as an inspiration. Ethiopia and its imperial empire sees it as resistance.
It’s the same argument with the Ogaden war. Do you think it was justified for Somalis to fight for unification and decolonisation from Ethiopia? If not then you are an imperialist. You want Ethiopia to exist as it is and prevail. But for that you must be against greater Somalia like Kenyans. However to have that stance you must be responsible for the instability in the Horn of Africa.
The point is, in the future will the descendants of our people be proud of your conscious choice to set back progress for your strong belief in Ethiopia. I’m suggesting that Ethiopia peacefully breaks up and becomes multiple ethnostates. Oromia, Somalia, Amharia etc. This includes the changing of border in the whole region. Eritrea wouldn’t exist. After the ethnostates are formed, there can be a sort of EU. For horners only. Same currency and free trade. Possibly even a NATO type joint military. This would create peace in the region. This would allow politics to be issue based and not tribalism. This is the only logical and ethical option.

@@habeshatube4019 Hello my dear Ethiopian brother. Muslims always had a policy of non aggression towards the absynnian Christian empire. The prophet Muhammad(Peace be upon him) told his followers to not attack abyssinia as long as they don't attack you. The Quran describes the Christians of Ethiopia as people of wisdom and great knowledge. Muslims always had great respect for abyssinia and would always avoid confrontation with them. But amde seyon was the instigator in the adal and abyssinian conflict. He attacked the muslim kingdom first and the Muslims retaliated by defending their land. Amde seyon wanted to annex the Muslim kingdom. He labelled the Muslims the enemies of the lord and attacked them for no reason. He committed various atrocities towards the Muslims which would amount to human rights violations today. He killed many innocent Muslims, forced them to convert to Christianity and burnt thousands of mosques. This is well documented in the futush al habesh book. Imam ahmed himself said he had no attention of conquering the abyssinian Christian empire and only did so to put an end to the brutality and aggression of the abyssinian empire. Another thing to note is that one of the Christian kings raped Imam Ahmed relative which caused him great pain and sorrow. This is why he retaliated extremely aggressive towards the Christians in abyssinia. An arab writer described how one of Imam Ahmeds relative was raped and decapitated by a Christian king. Some are saying this was his mother or sister. Its well documented in the futush al habesh book. So we must read the context. Muslims are prohibited from attacking abyssinia but only did so to defend their land and people against a tyrant Christian king.

The majority of the imams army was somalis I never heard of harla (maybe they don't exist no more or change names) and I think the next major group is the afar people.
    M. Lewis writes:
*Somali forces contributed much to the Imām’s victories. Shihāb ad-Dīn, the Muslim chronicler of the period, writing between 1540 and 1560, mentions them frequently (Futūḥ al-Ḥabasha, ed. And trs. R. Besset Paris, 1897). The most prominent Somali groups in the campaigns were the Geri, Marrehān, and Harti - all Dārod clans. Shihāb ad-Dīn is very vague as to their distribution and grazing areas, but describes the Harti as at the time in possession of the ancient eastern port of Mait. Of the Isāq only the Habar Magādle clan seem to have been involved and their distribution is not recorded. Finally, several Dir clans also took part.*
Ethnic Somalis being the majority of the army is further evidenced in the Oxford History of Islam:
*The sultanate of Adal, which emerged as the major Muslim principality from 1420 to 1560, seems to have recruited its military force mainly from among the Somalis.*
This guy is making things up to include his people I guess.

The Habeshas feared that Somali Garaad (meaning king in Somali) from Karanle Hawiye as mentioned in his enemy's history book ya garang warara so much they had to eat their meat raw. According to ibn Batuta writings talking about the tall dark people the Samale or Somali, he established his kingdom in Zeyla, Awdal Somalia then moved it to what's now Xarar or Harar as the Habesha called it since they couldn't or can't even pronounce Somali words right to this day. Now I see the Habesha slaves the Gala now Oromo claiming Somali history but thanks to the history books they can't get away with it. It's this fighting spirit that gave my people the country we call Somalia otherwise we would've been under the Habesha rule forever like our kinsmen the Gala or as they call themselves Oromo nowadays.

The walashma Royal family also said in their lineage they were descended from yusuf al kownayn a well known somali Saint and scholar from zeila, even Arabic documents from harar prove this
Ahmed gurey was most likely somali, his army was over 60 percent somali, Somalis have never followed a non somali leader to war are you stupid ? We have and always had ancient clans that united during war and chose a leader from themselves, no way would almost 10,000 somali soldiers follow a general who wasn't even somali even though the kingdom was ruled by the somali walashma dynasty and the capital at first was in zeila, then siyaro then dakkar, all somali cities

Hello my dear brother.

"Futūḥ Al-Ḥabashah: Or, the Conquest of Abyssinia (1894)" was written by an Arab lunatic.. Gragn Ahmed and his somali soldiers won the war but ..216,000 against 12500?? what kind of Hollywood adventure movies were you watching ... hahaha.. Lapiso is just translating what he read in the book .. its a good bed time story thou.. keep telling that to yourself and your children to help with your low self-esteem that's in you blood .. thats enough entertainment for today...hahaha.. Foreign Islamist invadors (supported by Turks and Arabs) never came back to ethiopia after the battle of WeynaDega :) crushed by the highlanders and then forever burried by the Great Oromo expansion !!!.. today ethiopia is a beautiful , strong and peaceful Nation to her Muslim and chrstain brothers living together with love.. we are a proud nation because we are sons of kings and warriors .

What a ridiculous comment. The author was from Yemen and he was historian and if it wasn't for him it would have been difficult to know about this war and some people would have believed the fairy tales presented by Ethiopian story tellers or "Ethiopian historians". The second horrible mistake you made when you commented is calling Gragn Ahmed and his soldiers as Somalis. The author of the book did not mentioned the origin of Gragn Ahmed and there is huge speculation about his origin as some claim he was Harari, some claim he was Afar and some claim he was Somali and some also say he could've been half Arab and half Ethiopian. His solders were not just Somalis, in fact in the battle against Debna Dengel the Somalis were only 5000 which is small fraction of 12500 soldiers and history clearly witness's there were four main tribes who joined together in Adal sultanate including Walashma, Hararis, Somalis and Afar tribes. This us well known abut Adal sultanate.
Besides that history also tells us the Christian kings were one of the most violent and war-loving empires like the crusades of Europe.
Lots of battles took place in history where small number of soldiers won over bug number of soldiers just like the battle of Yarmouk.

+Thinker Empiricist no wars between oromos? oromos r the reason for adal sultanates severe decline. adal had to build a wall to protect itself from oromo hit and run attacks. the walls of harar became red as if it was painted because of all the blood.

Mady Yonas Ethiopia has to bring white people to stop Somalis from uniting. 😂😂😂 If communists didn’t come, we would have won the second shifta war and then unified with Djibouti. You Ethiopians hate Somalis for one reason only. Greater Somalia=no more Ethiopia. The two can’t exist. Even if they did, somalia would greatly overpower Ethiopia. Greater Somalia is OverPowered.
