What's not commendable is him not giving Mr Metokur a shout-out . They asked him where he got his ideas for videos from and he didn't even mention Metokur . Metokur is the shitposter extraordinaire . He was the first guy to really bring attention to bring attention to Terry Davis and responsible for the cult like following Terry got. He did the wings of redemption video before Fredrick. And Metokur has been dunking on DSP since before Frederick had a channel😂. This isn't speculation Frederick knows who Medicare is and has said that's how he learned of Terry .. I mean Frederick didn't steal Metokurs ideas but he definitely got them from him. To not even mention the man seems extremely disingenuous to me😢.
Fredrik is the embodiment of scientific approach. No matter how obscure or controversial the topic is, he always puts research at the forefront of his work, rather than speak out of his ass. That’s so rare on this website; when I discovered his channel I fell in love instantly. The dude is a role model, I hope the growth rate of his channel gets quicker as time goes on. Thank you guys for having Fred on the podcast.

Honestly I’m beginning to consider stopping listening. I didn’t start listening to have Kaya’s dumb ass dominate the conversation. The only one I cared about was Charlie, and he literally is just phoning it in for a paycheck. Just sits there for an hour reading other things on his computer and gets paid. Jackson and Andrew grew on me, but I don’t care enough about two randos and one alt-right idiot with dumb opinions they espouse constantly to keep myself listening to the podcast.

I thought this was going to be the first episode I'll watch start to finish, since I really wanted to get to know the guy, but Kaya's tangential rants and him interrupting Fredrik constantly was unbearable. Fredrik may have said it "wasn't bad" at the end and you guys may have blamed it on latency, but it's clearly not the case. Kaya really lets his ego take over and it's hard to watch. I barely know the guy and sincerely wish him well, but I can already tell that he'd probably be the one to ruin any social gathering. Not because he's a bad person, but simply because he's probably going through some shit and vents here. Him realising that would not only help the podcast immensely, but also himself. I hope one of these comments has an effect, since I've seen many people with similar opinions here.
I'm a huge fan of Fredrik too and really wanted to hear more from him but after just 10min I couldn't bare Kaya's disrespect and misinformed takes

Speaking “smart” shouldn’t be a problem at all, really. They’re just words that are useful in getting a point across. They aren’t inherently meant to talk down to anyone. Calling someone pretentious for using the words that they feel get their point across never made sense to me. Sorry, just ranting, I guess.

Just to cover the confusion on the short schizophrenia topic, there really isn’t any definitive traits or symptoms other than paranoia. But in some cases even that can be “normal” amounts.
The best way *I* can describe it is “your brain sends the wrong signals to your body occasionally”. Which can be emotional fluctuations, muscle spasms, digestive issues, irregular heartbeat.. Really anything in the body.
I myself have never heard voices, seen things that weren’t there, yelled at mice with my shirt off, etc. But the crazy stuff happens to people who can’t control their “fight or flight” response. It’s a sad situation..
For the average person in an average setting, the one person you can trust if no one else, is yourself. But for a nonconsensual adrenaline junkie, they either can’t trust themselves sometimes, or not at all.
I started this comment offended at the stereotypes you guys brought up, but I can’t blame y’all for not understanding a very complicated mental health issue.
But hopefully some people read this, and learn that not all schizophrenic people are crazy. Then maybe one day the stigma will change for the word “Schizophrenia”, and I won’t have to hide my disability anymore.

From how you put it, it seems that like a lot of mental problems it's a spectrum, with a variety of way and intensity it can influence your actions and your reasoning sometimes.
Did I sort of get it right? People affexted by schyzophrenia are usually stigmatized, so all the information I have are stereotypes made by people from the outside looking in something complex without much knownedge

For example, everyone has some degree of anxiety. Being nervous about giving a speech to large number of people is normal anxiety. Being anxious about just being in public is not normal. The baseline of diagnosing a mental disorder is determining how severe the trait is, and if it impairs normal daily functions.

Okay here's the thing with it, it is only partially their fault. And it wasn't until the Trash Taste podcast said they'll only do in person guests for a specific reason that I realized this. The official podcast is recorded live on discord, there are other podcast i listen to that also record live or are just done on discord. And this always happens. There's lag, or mics cut out and are hidden in edits. So it makes it seems like conversation are running into eachother. They can do some things to make it so they don't talk over eachother in call. But this is problem that may always happen if they're recording over a call.

@@JohntheSpyCrab I actively use discord on the daily. It's entirely their fault and has nothing to do with the software, mics do occasionally cut out, but you ask that person to repeat themselves. There is little to no input lag on discord and if there is, it's an internet issue on the side of the person lagging, which nobody here was. Thirdly, the issues that do come with the software or shitty internet are easily combatted by shutting your mouth and listening, and making an effort to communicate said issues. Issues, which again, were not present in the slightest. Kaya just wouldn't shut up

Fredrick Knudsen is one of THE most under rated channels on TH-cam he puts so much work into every video creating music, researching, finding footage, etc. He is amazing and deserves to be hired for professional work as well. Sub to this man danmmit

I know this is an old episode, but I'll comment anyway. Love seeing Fred in a casual conversation like this. Seeing how he eloquently puts things. And Kaya... concerns me. I can attest that his claims that Kiwifarms are unbiased is 100% false. A major thread was made about a pastelle goth artist, Dollieguts / Tearzah, where the took a mentally unstable artist and boiled down their vent art to "glorifying abuse" and making fun of their gender identity, sexuality, mental health issues, and mocking the quality of their art. It wasn't until a prominent member of the art community re-examined these claims that it was revealed much of this was subjective opinion or based off information that was years old and didn't necessarily reflect their cutrent self. Kaya was giving me major creep vibes, not gonna lie. I don't consider myself an anal retentive lefty, I can take some edge. But much of his rhetoric was uncalled for, ignorant, and uncomfortable. Scrolling through the comments, I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way and even Charlie and the others became uncomfortable. This episode was overall entertaining, though an extremely mixed bag.
When I heard Fredrik's voice, I legit thought Andrew was speaking since their voices are similar....

felt like kaya and fredrik really clashed this episode and it made the conversation feel weird at times, the one time they seem to get along was the semenology bit
My favourite moment was when they all started talking at the same time
Mine was whenever Kaya interrupted the guest to talk about some random Photoshop'd image of Jackson's face on a Nazi he saw on discord instead of actually paying attention to anything the guest of his podcast was saying.
Knudsen is such a great fucking guest. I’ve been thinking about the general effect of the relationship we have with the internet and engagement-focused design for a long time, so it’s so fucking satisfying to hear someone address that in a meaningful way.

Atleast the beginning of this is really good. Fredrik is my favorite youtuber. I wish all the podcasts were this engaged and enjoyable. You can tell everyone appreciates Fredriks presence, many podcasts are quite one sided
fredrik was a great guest. even during kaya's rambles, that despite being entertaining are often really ignorant, fredrik was polite and well spoken. hope to see him on again.
