Another great tip for micro scrapping is to get a hold of old cameras that take film. Since digital cameras have taken over the old 35mm film cameras are now obsolete. And now for the good news...they contain gold. Anyway, I found gold in an old cheap 35mm Kodak. Quite a bit of gold too. Yeh! Keep up the good gold work! 🤓👍🏴
Good info, I've got many boards from cell phones that actually have quite a bit of gold tracings and plated components,, just a bit tedious in removing the components and removing the green with lye. The only one that comes close to yours is a Blackberry. It already had the memory removed. On the inside of the back I did find a very nice inscription "HRC" hmmm, lol
Vintage calculators like Texas instruments, Hewlett pacard and similar acutualy have nice amount of gold inside, and it is not enig gold plating, but i nice thick gold layer, maybe 10-15 microns. I always buy them when I find them on flea markets. So far i've collected 60-70 pieces waiting to be processed. Anyways, nice and informative video. Cheers Dule!
The gold under the solder mask is flash plating. Not worth the time and chemicals to recover, in my opinion. If you run a test, you will see that the gold on the keyboard contact points is much heavier. (because it is a contact point) Like your videos 👍
