You could put names and phone numbers, your schedules, multiple time zones around the world, memos, etc. The reason it used 3 batteries is for redundancy. If 2 of the 3 batteries failed, it would still hold all the data. It didn't have a way to store the data to non-volatile memory. That is why you should replace batteries 1 at a time. It even had password protected data, so you could put sensitive information on it and others couldn't read the data. Yeah, it doesn't have a rechargeable battery, but the beauty of this is you can replace the batteries in a 30 year old device and it will still work. Try doing that in 30 years with your smartphone. In some ways, we have gone backwards in tech. Everything is disposable and obsolete in a few years.

Today I replace batteries of my Casio Digital Diary which was put in wardrobe from 1999 and it’s still working.
