- After Jay (Ed O'Neill) refuses to take his back pain medicine, Gloria (Sofia Vergara) doses his drink while he's in the bathroom. But then Jay returns, saying he took the max dose while he was in there. He then explains the trials and tribulations of being a parent watching your kids grow up. I've teared up every time I've watched it, it is all too true. My son is walking across the HS stage tonight. I've been a single dad for 5 years now, by choice, to give him 100%. I have no Frkn idea what I'm going to do now. I only know how to be a mom and dad and they do t need me anymore!! Needed to get that out before heading to the HS, thanks!!

Idk what it is but in comparison to the earlier seasons, the show turned darker? Like idk but I feel like it used to be more colourful (brighter)... Also that greyish tone enhances the fact that the actors have aged (it even makes them look older)... Still love Modern Family though
Maybe because the real world is getting darker everyday and instead of sugar coating it, the writers are just being as realistic as the the world.
Well maybe because the kids are all grown up so they can't really make fun of them anymore, but for the color grading yeah I am curious about that too they definitely made it darker this season...

Yes, in tone, but it also got sweeter. I remember that Jay had trouble even hugging Mitch in the first episodes but in the later season he's really open and tell Manny and everyone how he loves them pretty regularly
@@Enzombie Right? I think one of the first times Jay stops announcing his arrival in order to not see something gay is when he helps Cam build a princess castle.

Yeah this hit me that I can’t tell you about the actual last time I carried mine. It just slowly quits happening.. I remember a couple times l nicely complaining that “you’re just getting so big” & before ya know it I guess it just stopped.. I miss it.. so much..

Man, used to love this show to bits. Unfortunately all good things end, and this is no exception. Tho the drop off with modern family wasn't as bad as tbbt, it still went downhill with the later seasons. The kids growing up ruined the show's entire premise, and they should have ended it earlier if anything.
They originally planned for it to end at the birth of Haley's kids, but ABC wanted another season
Yeah....ABC milked it.
I think the only comedy show that stay consistent was Parks and Rec. It wasn't particularly the funniest but at least they got a good/great consistent throughout the show
Oh and Riverdale, they're bad all throughout every season. Props to them too
They just didn't know what to do with the kids once they grew up. I actually liked Haley's personality, they just couldn't keep her storyline consistent. The other kids sucked.

@@BlackedOutDreams doesnt mean noone can die. himym for example killed marshals dad and its one of the best moments of the show (script wise because of the emtional consequences)
@@peterpan3022 Phil's dad died in the show as well as Claire & Mitch's mum, Dede, it was very emotional, the actors portrayed such emotion during these scenes.
did you forget that Deedee died and Phil’s parents died as well
