I don't think people truly understand how much of a contribution Kevin is the group. the reason why they do so well over other acapella type groups is bcuz his sound gives an attitude umph!!
Agree completely! I started following them all the way back on The Sing Off and Scott, Mitch, and Kirsten have more raw, sickening talent than any 3 people have right to, that was apparent even then. But it was Kevin and Avi who completely grounded the group and made them stand out among everyone else! Pentatonix's edge over the competition, I think, came entirely from those two because they gave the group the untouchable advantage of having a truly music like quality, rather than just the typical acapella sound. I've always thought their depth and diversity as a group came entirely from the insane talent of those two, their value is seriously underrated!

@@calebdell9937 I found out from any interview they had when they asked Avi what his lowest note was and he said a “low A” and then he looks at Mitch to him an A to him. Matt is classically trained as well so it’s possible he has it or very close

@@Neon1880 im sure he can do the more technical bbx sounds, its just that it doesnt really have much of an application in this type of acapella. I dont think an inward bass would sound great in this context lol.

@@brianh6 I was bullied too. You're right that anyone can be picked on for anything. It just seems extra hard to understand when I watch him being so actively amazing.
@FOTEINI MANOU Jealousy is actually a part of it, though. No one who is confident in themselves will feel the need to bully, pick on, or belittle another person. They know they don't really have anything of importance to offer, and instead of working on themselves, they instead take the "easier" path of attempting to uplift themselves by trying to make someone else, including those who have a special talent feel less than. They choose someone's unique talent that makes them "different" and special, especially if it's in academics or the arts, and attempt to turn it into a vulnerability. They're all incredible. Without even trying, the talent and professionalism just oozes from everything they do. I am a huge Avi fan, but Mitch is my hero.
Thank you for this video. I’m a baritone and for the longest time I had hated being one because it’s so typical. I hate it that I can’t hit even B4 let alone C5 like tenors. An opera singer told me I should be proud that I have A4, as most men struggle to even hit G4, but I hated being a baritone. But I’ve learned that people recognize the talent of baritones when you hear it. When I see A4 or even G4 recognized as shocking notes for baritones, I’m super happy. I’m a countertenor now or at least training to be one but I’m very happy that people can recognize baritone and its upper limit and not compare it to tenors. To everyone: Love your voice.
The reason it was not included is that despite being out of this world it is simply not close to being the top of Mitch's range. I've heard Hallelujah many times and I'm still doing the Mitch-slapped face every time. It is more than just his range. It is how he instinctively tunes the chords, never landing quite on the note, but precisely, to a 64th of a tone, exactly where the note needs to be for the harmonics. The SUPREME example of Mitch tuning a chord at the end of Bohemian Rhapsody. If you listen very carefully you can just catch him raising the pitch of the lead note that he is holding just as the penultimate chord resolves into the final chord. I am positive he would say he doesn't, and it is obvious he does not think about it. He just does it. From one who has been singing blues for half a century an who has been singing a capella close harmony for 40 years, my hat is off to Mitch. I never get tired of his incredible talent.
