Great graphics in your video! The montage with the summer outfits and beach scenes really helped to showcase what a great summer combo that watch & strap are. Thanks 🙂
Just got the same strap through my AD yesterday. Really digging the look so far but I think the strap is quite long, so keep that in mind, people! I also own a Crafter Blue for my King Samurai, the black version with the orange underside, and that is a nice alternative and also goes together very well. I do like to have some strap options for my watches, though. Thanks Josh!
Yes, it does help, my initial opinion of the silicone, I have a King Turtle and a King Samurai, very comfortable, a little stretchy, the buckle and the keeper are just a little questionable, what I get floating around in my head, close to perfect, but falls a little short, the thickness of the seiko silicone really balances the heft and size of the watch, which can not be understated, it's a big deal. Thanks for your quick response. HD...That Safari Arnie is the next one on my radar!
I just ordered this exact watch today from Macy's. I really like the blue colored Crafter Blue but for $65 I'm hesitant to try it. I have TDM bands from The Watch Steward on a few of my watches and I'm not sure anything can beat their comfort. They do lack a little bit of style though so I'm thinking about what to try on this watch when it arrives in a week or so.
Hey Josh, I know you were crazy about the Crafter Blue on your Samurai's, any change in thought, I have an oval wrist and have read some negative opinions on being uncomfortable and not quite sitting flat on top and underneath the wrist. New subscriber btw, love the enthusiasm. HD
Hi Herb! Great question, and those reviews are certainly fair-the Crafter Blue strap doesn’t work for people with larger or wider wrists because of the way the lugs angle down from the case. My wrists are 6.75 inches or ~17cm for reference and they work well for me. I will say that some people judge them right out of the box but they’re rubber and so they need to and do soften up slightly over time with some wear, kind of like car tires. That said, I go back and forth on the crafter blue and the silocone strap in this video just depending on mood. I’m partial to rubber because I like the heavier and stiffer feel but others absolutely hate that, in which case the stock Seiko silicone strap might be a good fit. Both work generally well for me. What happens for me with the silicone strap is that on my small-ish wrist, the watch case has a tendency to start rotating one way or another because I feel like the silicone isn’t properly balanced with the giant hefty samurai case. I think what I’d say is try the silicone first and if that’s not to your liking, then I might think about pulling the trigger on the crafter blue. Hope this helps!!
I have this watch too. On its original black rubber strap. I have often considered whether to change it but haven'\t seen anything yet. I don't want the bracelet as I have other diverse with bracelets. The beige combo is interesting. I am not sure I am sold on it but I can see you point that the white/cream waffle dial tones with light colours. Have you seen the new burgundy/red waffle dial version of this coming out as a limited edition in Europe. I am currently waiting for mine to arrive. That might suit a brown or red/burgundy strap too.
Hi Josh, I came upon your channel this evening and after a couple of King Samurai vids, subscribed (I'm thinking of adding one to the collection). I like the look of this strap next to the white dial, but hearing your thoughts regarding silicone (and agreeing), thought I'd mention that I threw my King Turtle (olive green) on an Uncle Seiko GL831 "Irezumi" Tattoo Rubber Diver Strap and love it. I found the stock silicone way too long for my 6.5-inch wrist and therefore needed to go smaller, so like you I swapped the original strap's hardware over to the Uncle Seiko and now I have a much nicer wearing (and I think nicer looking) alternative, which costs even less than I'm guessing the OEM Seiko silicone would. Unfortunately they don't have it in any shade of beige, but I was able to get it in OD (olive drab) green, which fit my King Turtle's dark olive hue nicely. They also have black, two shades of grey, navy blue, red and orange, so maybe you (or one of your subscribers) will enjoy this option. Thanks for the great reviews, and will be sure to tune in for more. All the best to you and yours...
Hello! I’ve been meaning to respond to this for the past week. Thanks so much for the wonderful comment! I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed and thanks for subscribing!! I’ll definitely have to check out your recommendations because I swear I switch up the strap on the King Samurai up more than any other watch I own, not sure why but it goes with so many things! Thanks again and apologies for the delay!
Hello! See below! ;) Should: It’s a great look, really elevates the watch, Strapcode quality is excellent. Should not: it’s chunky and makes the watch super heavy and can be burdensome.
Just ordered this same watch and strapcode hexad bracelet but will most likely rock it on the stock black strap. Definitely getting a similar rubber strap to the one you have as well. Looks so good.
I like natos but for me, Seiko’s cases are all too big and heavy for a nato because of the balance. They’re not substantial enough to support such a big and heavy watch IMO.

Thank you so much! And thanks for watching! 🙏🏼

You need to check out Clockwork Republic strap and end link combo for the Samurai. They are fantastic!
That's a great combination, looks much better than the black strap. Bravo👏
Thank you! And yes, I so agree!
I’m gonna use this option. I like it.

I think the combo looks cool! The metal keeper on those straps does my head in though!
I agree - I wish they stayed in place a bit more too.
Given the angles, I think the Seiko Shogun rubber straps would actually look good on this watch.

That looks 😎!!
I’m about to buy the Hexad… why should or shouldn’t I pull the trigger!? :D
Hello! See below! ;)
Should: It’s a great look, really elevates the watch, Strapcode quality is excellent.
Should not: it’s chunky and makes the watch super heavy and can be burdensome.
@@joshjamesyoutube thanks mate. Appreciate it.

Why don't you try a tan NATO strap?

@@joshjamesyoutube Thanks for the reply Josh. Like your videos. I just got my white Samurai today. Currently on a white nato. Looks good!
