@@kurdt663 its not released, dummy
When Krist said “this is not gonna last forever…you know, a few more years” 😔
Hm...
MTV was so awesome in the 90's.
Music and Beavis and butthead, The 90s are epic.
@@hectorlopez1069 it's weird how culture went backwards as technology progressed further
MTV was an unforgettable part of our collective youth (if you were born early enough). I wish Rock 🎸 music still had as much presence and resonance with the youth as it did back then.
1992 is where kurt cobain has depression and 2 years later it died
Dave wasn't joking in this interview when he said he liked KYUSS. He'd go on to drum for them under the name Queens of the Stone Age.
Dave: Aww, look at those beautiful blue eyes
What's it like being a dad? Dave: "His nipples are really sore" (Kurt grins 😁) ❤
Just listen to Kurt's talking voice, so pure, so perfect, so clear. Just a very special human being, for sure!
I wish I was special
I’ve never seen Kurt and the band this happy and harmonic. ❤
Kurt looked so happy with that little beautiful in his arms😢...oh my gosh...I wish he could have lived more of that happiness😢😢❤
It refreshing to see kids interviewed acting like kids. Might not be the most articulate conversation but we still knew how to interact with people instead of phones.
If your kids don't know how to communicate, it's the parents fault. If the new generation isn't what you want, it's the society created for them by the older generations. You only yourself to blame. But I suspect you just shit on anyone that isn't exactly like you as 'lesser than'. Probably to build you up and make you feel better about aging, as if you are somehow better than others. It's pathetic and quite transparent.
They were in their 20's
Nirvana, The Beatles, The Doors, Led Zeppelin -- doesn't matter WHO... it's amazing that MTV could dedicate 8 minutes to a single band... and I grew up in this era.
2:56 lol Dave casually tap dancing
very dope shoutout from Dave @ 4:20 to desert rock legends, Kyuss.
in 10 years, Dave will be playing with the spiritual successor to that band, Queens of the Stone Age, on what's considered by many to be the best album of 2002, Songs for the Deaf.
Helmet and Nirvana in 92...legendary
I love Dave's shoutout to Kyuss, which he unintentionally predicted QOTSA's success.
RIP Kurt Cobain (February 20, 1967 - April 5, 1994), age 27
You will be remembered as a legend
I miss the old MTV
I honestly MOURN the loss of that era of MTV. I mourn for the 90s, in general.
Dave giving kyuss a shoutout then goes on to play on multiple queens of the stone age albums and them crooked vultures with Josh homme. What a guy
Every comment should be this comment
People love to go to Seattle to see his life and his spirit.
I love the one question a reporter asked Kurt as he was walking with Frances.
Reporter: Kurt, how do you like fatherhood?
Kurt: Vodka? I love vodka. 🤣
😂
Freaking iconic!!!
The kids were very picky about the scene, that's why Kurt was so fed up about fame, everyone talking about how Nirvana was getting all the attention and letting the other cool bands out.
The Kyuss shout out! Amazing.
NIRVANA A MELHOR BANDA DE TODOS OS TEMPOS, GÊNIOS DA MUSICA E DO ROCK !!!
In Argentina Nirvana still valid! 🤘🏽 1 October...... AGUANTE NIRVANA CARAJO!!! 🇦🇷
Love Dave's laugh at 7.42
Kurt was a star in music.
So cool to see dave shoutout KYUSS since he did drums for Josh Homme’s later band Queens of The stone Age
On the Albums “Songs For the Deaf” and “..Like Clockwork
Great music
We love you Kurt ❤
Like how Kurt said "I'm just teaching her how to cuss" then immediately (7:43) takes babies hand to flip the bird right before the camera zooms in.
Aaaaaa fracis is soooo cute in this video
nice video, Kurt really loves his daughter, miss him art a lot
I was at the Portland show. Nirvana had sound problems. Poison idea was awesome, Helmet was really good as well. I was a youth. It was pretty fun.
Helmet was great back then
@@RockyRMR Oh man. That's one of the shows I'll always remember.
What about Calamity Jane?
@@1985cactus Yep. Them too.
the one and only thing that put Seattle on the pop culture map lol
Blues For the Red Sun is awesome.
I hold his Memorial in Seattle at his house in Viretta Park I love Nirvana and Kurt🙏
Time capsule of 1992 when "grunge" was at it's peak and I lived in Bellevue, Washington which is the "eastside" across from Seattle. I got on a plane to New Zealand, one-way ticket to go help start up Microsoft in Auckland. On arrival the Kiwis always responded to my Seattle origins with "wow you must really love grunge music" or something like that. In fact one of the motivations for moving to NZ was it's antipodean music scene and I was already kinda burnt out on the Seattle sound. Crowded House had recently released the "Together Alone" album and I became somewhat of a groupie, following their subsequent tour of NZ. Jump ahead to about 1997 I saw one of the most awesome concerts in a small venue in Auckland. It was Foo Fighters who opened with "My Hero" and two huge drum sets with Dave and Taylor pounding out the intro side by side and I had my chin on the stage front and center. So somehow Nirvana, Crowded House, New Zealand, and the Foos are strangely connected. I even got to know Crowded House's frontman Neil Finn and we talked about the Foos (that Nirvana drummer guy) first album. Really a seminal time in rock history. I used to drive my open-top sports car around Auckland blasting The Color and The Shape on its bodacious stereo. Great memories mixed with Seattle and NZ music scene. RIP Kurt RIP Taylor RIP Paulo.
That’s so cool you got to chat with Neil Finn. I’m a big fan of The ENZ/Crowded House. I’m from Bellingham.
I also lived in Bellingham around '82-'86 nice city many great times, riding my motorcycle down Chuckanut Drive, Fairhaven, Happy Valley, Lake Padden, etc. I'd even move back there now. I grew up mostly in Olympia near Evergreen State College and was there for the start of what became "grunge". Lots of $2 concerts with the bands who soon after became famous playing big arenas. But again I went to NZ for a promising career change, but also the downunder music scene. I became a sort of Enz-ologist following the roots and origins of Split Enz, got to meet most of the original band, and one special night Neil Finn calls me at home says come down to the studio (Revolver) so I show up, my name is on the list and inside is a private reunion party. The guys pick up their instruments and do an impromptu run of their favorite songs. As a Frenz of the Enz guy it was a dream come true.
Nirvanna goes hard fr fr
Some of the shirts in this video... pure gold
Oh man those fans were so dire. We were all such dire teens in the 90s...
people will never know what MTV in 1992 was like.
Music was the greatest
I was 13 in 1992. 120 Minutes on MTV was the greatest show during that time. All the music I listened to I found out through 120 Minutes. Around that time another show I loved, Alternative Nation, started.
@@cactaceousI love to watch old episodes of those shows on TH-cam. They were so cool. 🖤
the dude at 3:59 saying "there's a tonne of bands not getting noticed at all like..."
1: Seaweed - awesome band, underrated, good point
2: Supersuckers - suck
3: Gruntruck - similar to alice in chains but without anything interesting to make them stand out, like a lesser form of aic i suppose
now dude, just cause these are 'bands from the same place and time' doesn't mean they are in the same category as ABSOLUTE LYRICAL AND MELODIC GENIUS that was nirvana. nirvana got big for a reason, it wasn't luck.
Mudhoney was so underrated. If you weren't alive in the 90's you missed out on The GREATEST OF TIMES!
Love the shoutout to Kyuss
What a mother!
Fantastic.. i mean, the way Dave and Krist seem to protect Kurdt and his son
Daughter
KRIS PREDICTED IT, 5:50 🥺
I’m surprised Kurt’s Mom is on here. He did not get along with his Mother and apparently caused him a lot pain.
So sad when you hear that small child... Ohh sometimes life ist not fair with us, man so sod. R.I.P Kurt
Helmet. Hell yeah. Shout out to the dude in the RUSH: Roll The Bones Tee at 3:48, and his buddy who was recognizing the other Seattle bands. Kurt would have been proud of that guy. I love how everyone in that shot is wearing a band T-shirt. Man I miss the 90's. What happened to the days when rock ruled?
i can't believe kurt cobain still chilling out about music 2 years before his depression entered the chat
How is this 30 years ago?! Feeling extra old.
Dudes just chilling feeding Frances Bean
king of grunge....
I like Dave calling out the Kyuss album, given his involvement 20 years later with QotSA
Wow, Dave hyping up Kyuss was unexpected.
R.I.P. Kurt
OGGGGG!!!!!
"YEAH SEATTLE!! NIRVANA,HELMET!!" 🤣🤣🤣
5:50 krist definitely knew it wouldn't last past 96 maybe..i love Nirvana,i never got to see them play.. I did see Alice in chains STP(which were brilliant live Scott was a brilliant Singer) i saw Bush, Creed. Godsmack..creed was more of a date with ny ex-girlfriend. I never car d for that band but whe happened to get free tickets so..i miss the 90s 👍🏻🙏🏻
Nice Kyuss shout out, Dave.
MTV MORE NIRVANA, PLEASE, POR FAVOR POSTE MAIS NIRVANA
Dave giving everyone a glimpse of his future with Josh Homme with that Kyuss plug. Looked like Kurt and Krist were kind of indifferent to it.
Crazy that Dave looked up to him. Then became friends and his drummer for a while. Then he asked him to be in TCV. Wow can't make this stuff up
Kyuss went on to become queens of the stone age and Dave went on to play with them.
Kurt 🙌🏻
I’m a muse so I’ve had a lot of Inspirations over the years but Kurt is up there he taught me you can have meaningless lyrics as long as your passionate and can play ppl will jam to it yes we don’t know what it means when he says he’s the one who likes all our pretty songs that’s a stab at casual fans and the fact ppl don’t know what that songs about just makes his point so much more genius
Even if his lyrics were meaningless, he still managed to make them sound fucking rad. He had insane talent.
Three corn dogs for 99 cent. I've been there, living from hand to mouth and it was back it the 90's. Haha. Good memories though.
Hahaha I saw Gruntruk in like 1995 or 1996 in a small little club in Spokane hahaha wow wild to hear their name again
Crazy
3:52 back in the day when zlatan Ibrahimovic still live in seattle...
Please release the Seattle Show MTV
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Shout outs to Mudhoney and Supersuckers, still going strong.
5:50 the look kurt gives to krist
"hey, theyre makin money, so, good luck to them" he had some fore sight holy shit
Kurt seemed like a good guy.
Dave was on Kyuss early
Yup, this was the moment they became the most hyped heavy rock band in the underground
Finally a mention of Sprinkler, lol. This person i have known for like a decade is the daughter of one of the guys from that band! cool
OK and the Kyuss mention is heavy on the foreshadowing!
Those girls at 3:28 are hilarious 😂
im not from oldschool years but we love blue pants :)
I dont understand why mtv isnt a TV chanel, i never had mtv and ive been watching these old yt vids i really wish they would bring it back on tv. Especially new rock bands
His mom was proud of him 😊❤
When his mom seems proud of him, but concerned, it hit hard. One of my friends who I played music with took his one life. We lived in separate towns and I didn't communicate with him as much as I should have. It's still devastating to his Mother, and I feel like Wendy Cobain probably feels similar. No parent should have to bury their child.
Helmet played with Nirvana. 😯
The Kyuss mention is kinda insane considering what happened next. see, this is why I love old band interviews
Also in awe of what fatherhood can do. Frances so closely, almost saved him.. damn.
Peak Grohl 90's Hair FTW
06:01 That guy is a financial analyst for Goldman Sachs now.
Holding his baby!!!😭😭😭
why can you not hear the interviewers questions at all?
RIP To the Late Great Kurt Cobain 🙏
Yes! Seaweed! Great band , great guys!
@Let Your L⚡️GHT Forever Shine ❤️ ??? 😂 really shining that light
Yes a Tacoma/Lakewood band lol
Oh my, I feel 19 again.
Seems like yesterday, not 1992
KYUSS 😍
kurt looked great here, really lucid
He was in reab and clean
When I see Kurt playing with his baby... and after that his sort of "angryish" face when Krist says the band will less maybe a couple of years more .. I sure that he did take his own life.
I'm sure he didn't.
Those bands back then weren't as good as Nirvana simple as that. Nirvana was just big they were beyond the music industry at this point.
4:04 dude Seaweed is so good too
Love Nirvana but it was nice to hear Helmet mentioned. Page Hamilton rules
When MTV used to be cool and chill back then but now it's just like oh, well whatever nevermind.
Seen here: Future Trailer Park Dwellers. Kirt with a bad haircut, and the praises of Portland, before it turned into “Porto-Potty” by 2018.
I really wish Kurt had been able to walk away and just be a Daddy.
NIRVANA could have gone on hiatus and FF could have still been a thing, Maybe Kirst could have carried the political torch frank zappa left smoldering.
Most importantly Lil Bean could have grown up with her father for a longer period of time, and the Family that Kurt obviously yearned for could have come to fruition, with all the Ups and Downs that come along with it.
Frances was real young on this.
