Around a month ago I went on a trip across Washington and had to stop in packwood, I swear I saw the same elk but who know. Good video I’m looking forward to part 2.
My Dad lived in White Salmon Washington back in the 1940's as a boy. When he took a job delivering newspapers there, he bought his first scooter to deliver papers on. He was 14 years old and talked his parents into allowing him and the other newspaper boy to take a STATE WIDE TRIP on SCOOTERS. They did. They were gone for two weeks and when they got back my grandparents had moved!...True Story, the family moved to Poulsbo, Washington where Grandpa worked in a torpedo factory...But when I saw this video, hmmmm...cool...I had a Honda RUckus for a while back about in 2009. Traded it in for a Harley Davidson.
I do contract work repairing printers there at NUWC Keyport! Back when your grandpa worked there it would've been the Naval Torpedo Station Keyport before they renamed it... twice!
Just goes to show you can travel wherever you want on whatever you want. It's refreshing to see. Sometimes I feel so limited on my tw200 with highways, then I see this.
This is awesome. I've done the WABDR a couple times, and I've been wanting to do it on a 50cc moped with knobbies to stand in contrast to the old guys who think they need giant BMWs. Thanks for the video!
You sir enjoyed every bit of this. That goofy-ass laugh of yours says EVERYTHING any of us needs to know. I'm super stoked to have come across your videos. keep it coming!
Love the adventure….and idea. Been riding 44yr- but have zero dirt experience. And worse, at 68- and 46 in Seattle…I didn’t even know about this route! It’s on my Bucket List.🎉. I looked at Ruckus years ago- but the lack of power- for even in city use was the deal killer. IF they made a 125-150cc Ruckus, I’d pounce. Love the styling.
Hell yeah brother. Don't know how far you make it but the washout south of Wenatchee is exciting. Hope to see the Rukus tackle it! The fires really hosed the southern part of the route. Bethal Ridge is closed too.
I live in Washington and ride those roads on a sportster Like you I started out carrying too much. I carry a gas can and it's saved me from hiking. Paying attention to forest fire reports is important
Did section 2 of the WA BDR on my Honda Monkey earlier this year, was a trip! Also had a CT 125 with me and a DR 350. Biggest trouble was the road transit for us and the lack od aggressive mud tires in the wet spots. Great adventure!
@heritagehillsecurity8778 didn't see any this trip. Think I had one coming close last weekend solo camping. Lots of big branches was breaking at night. Kinda creepy. Should have carried a bigger gun with me
@dualdorks I am glad you're packing. Fall and spring make for dangerous bears. Good stuff with the TW, Ruckus, and mini 4x4 adventures. Thank you and be careful out there. Looking forward to your next video.
Hey man, love this stuff. I rode scooters for a while but now have a kl250. Always wanted to do a long distance trip with a ruckus. Btw, to find good campsites, use iOverlander. I travel in a school bus and I'll be coming up to Washington for about a month or so with the bike soon, just camping and riding around
The commute from Vancouver WA to the start on a scooter deserved a video all on its own lol. Stuck at 40mph on the shoulder of a busy highway wasn't fun at all lol
Good stuff man, me and a buddy just did the WABDR back in July and had a blast. We stopped at an awesome camping spot on Bethel Ridge the first night. You're in my area I think, i'm out of Stanwood. I'm usually down to ride just msg me on TH-cam
Do you in Washington State have to have a motorcycle license to ride on the road s in north Carolina just liability insurance and yearly tags yep it amazing I don't need a license to drive on 90 percent of north Carolina roadways on a 49 cc
The day I started they had a big forest fire start the same day and it closed off a section of forest roads I had to take. That's my luck lol. I did go down a little further and I got turned around by the Fire Crews. Normally they are opened up though with no restrictions.
I'm just laughing.. in a ride down the great river road in Iowa with my friend Greg on his Harley and me on my yamaha 250 scooter, we came up to a "ROAD CLOSED" sign. He shrugs "how closed, is it?" And we went around the barricades. A mile or so we came to a brand new bridge. With "road closed" on the other end. Facing the other way. Tongue in cheek.. closed is different to a car and a bike.
@Napalmdog I wear them on every other bike I ride. In my opinion, if I'm cruising down the road less then 30mph I'm going to be a little bit more relaxed lol
I stumbled across this by accident. All hail the all mighty algorithm. I’m at the very beginning of the video very excited.

He posts some great videos of fun spots and motorcycles.

That's a great story
I went to school at NK, I wonder if I knew your grandparents
. . .so they abandoned him?

Its cool seeing you riding a scooter. I rode scooters and built a scooter group in Atlanta. Miss it. Fun video. Thumb up and shared.
This is going to be a great series. Good idea. That was definitely a hit having to turn around. Glad it all worked out.
That lil thing carries a lot of gear! It’s impressive that it’s still getting 100mpg.
"Old guy in a Sturgis shirt staring at the Ruckus like he just saw a thick goth girl for the first time"
😆😆😆
The excitement and joy in your voice makes this so much better
You sir enjoyed every bit of this. That goofy-ass laugh of yours says EVERYTHING any of us needs to know. I'm super stoked to have come across your videos. keep it coming!
I love seeing you ride your ruckus man the ruck is just such a cool slow unstoppable force 💪
I love mine it's so fun and reliable to go very far
I luv hearing you giggle like a school girl on the ol ruck.... God bless ❤️🇺🇸

How was it on the monkey? I've done it on a TransAlp and a 300R, but the Monkey encourages stupidity and I keep listening to the call.
@@jonblanchard5453 I'd have a hard time recommending it as the intended purpose, but I have a blast everytime I ride the bike.
Bridge of the gods is like an hour and a half away from me I didn't realize you were so close to me! I live in Vancouver washington
Those washboards are no joke. I'm 39 and on my 2012 dl 1000 it almost kills me. Definitely do it when you're younger.
Just gotta stay in it. I’m 72 and still race the SCORE offroad events in Baja, like the Baja 1000 and San Felipe 250 on my bike.
Hahaha gotta love the misadventures of a honda ruckus. 😅 Buy the way NCY makes a upgraded rear shock for the little guy, its a real back saver.
@@Core_VII just installed the Forza shock from the Ruck Shop and I'm swearing at myself for not doing it before the trip lol
You drove past my hometown, lol. belated hello from Yakima
That's one helluva trip for a Ruckus DD. I will be waiting for the next video to see if you make it all the way.
Great video. Nice cliffhanger at the end.
A++ Very Entertaining Video. Keep up the great work.
Great video.
That looks fun. Ever see any bears. Thank you for another great video.

Great job with the Ruckus adventure!
Super cool video can't wait for the next one.
Came across in my fyp glad it did I plan to do some travel on y mini bike
On a Ruckers? That’s nuts.. I gave my friend my little CT 70 Honda and he was able to pass Kay Tems in certain sections up at stony Ford

I rode my wife's Ruckus over The Bridge of the God's too!
I respect the Ruckus after watching "Lost with Mike"
The west coast set of BDR is basically the PCT for people who ride.
Safe travels.
Gonna be doing the wabdr next year we have a few trail90s in our group so hopefully we don't get into much trouble for going under the speed limit
The commute from Vancouver WA to the start on a scooter deserved a video all on its own lol. Stuck at 40mph on the shoulder of a busy highway wasn't fun at all lol
I bet that sucked
Dude, I live in Kelso and just bought a couple Grom clones for my son and I to do this exact thing on.
"huhuhuh heyuh heyuh HAHAHAH" Lmfaoo😂
Love the ruckus. However, the seat is unbelievably uncomfortable on longer rides !
Found that out very quickly as well lol
Ruck on

TH-cam serving up that good sh*t now.

Bro look into after market clutch roller wights variator clutch springs to give your ruck a little more HP you can look up scooter swap shop
Going to do that when I get back home
@@dualdorks sweet video tho like the adventure 🤙🏽
Awesome trip! What’s your load out? Those side bags looks great!
The side panniers are from Kemimoto. They are great.

You don't need a motorcycle endorsement just drivers license for under 50cc bikes in Washington State. Still have to register it though.
the goth girl joke hahahaha X'3
The ruckshop or Rollin wrench for your ruckus parts stage1 kits
@country808-si7xw imma just keep it stock other than the suspension really. I didn't buy it to go fast .
@@dualdorks they should have your suspension parts as well
I enjoyed the video. Looks like fun! Does it take regular 87 octane gas?
@@vinniec5286 regular 87 is fine. I usually run Ethanol Free in all of my bikes and Kei Truck if available
Fucken hell yeah dude
I wanna follow your footsteps on my '69 Trail 90.
Trail 90 would be awesome for the BDR. Wish I bought one a few years back
Coked up critters always get my attention...
i did it on a harley RK
Is there a fork and rear shock upgrade for the ruckus?
couple of inches of ground clearance would be nice
Just got the Forza rear shock from the Ruck Shop installed. Front forks still searching myself tbh
Road closed? How closed IS it.. sometimes not

Im getting one as a replacement for my Ebike since I don't own a car their not worth the price
@@newmobile1455 you won't regret it. I love mine. I almost want another one just to tinker with and then have one stock just for commuting
I tried to watch but that silly laugh drove me away.
