My Life as a Teenage Robot is an animated television series, produced by Frederator Studios for the Nickelodeon cable channel and distributed by Nelvana Limited outside of the US. The series follows the adventures of a 16-year-old robot girl named Jenny Wakeman (XJ-9), who was created by her mother Dr. Nora Wakeman and designed to protect Earth while also trying to live the life of a normal teenage girl

The show was created by a Hanna-Barbera alumni Rob Renzetti, who prior worked on Dexter’s Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, and even Family Guy. A lot of other Hanna-Barbera alumni also worked on MLAATR in multiple departments (art direction, character design, and music in particular), which explains why it’s the most Cartoon Network looking and feeling show to have aired on Nickelodeon. A lot of the sound effects are also recycled from prior Hanna-Barbera Cartoon Network shows.
