- I needed a rack that I could load up with all the goods... Boat, outboard, paddle, rigging and more. The rack fits over the camper I designed in previous videos and can be installed or removed in 15 minutes. This video shows step by step how I built the rack.

I didn’t plan on making a video of the build, but decided to anyway. Glad I did as the rack design is straight forward enough and like you said so much less expensive.

The "off grid" transition to water will be difficult im sure, so im trying to make it enjoyable at least. There are things I can do to make it much easier. The heat will be the hardest thing. Im making a ventilation hatch/dodger with screen for bugs and a fan for cross breezes. Also a small gimbal stove that will have the necessities only.
Thx for posting. About to go camping and cant find a used shell. Might make a frame like this and just add wood to the sides and top. Just for storage…
I bet that would work great. The frame only took 2 or 3 days to make. Sides would be super easy to add. Glad u saw the video.

Do you have the rak bolted into the truck bed?
No. There is a ratchet that runs diagonally in an upside down “V” shape in the front that pulls the rack down to the side walls of the bed. Nothing in the back as the weight of the rack and what sits on it provide enough weight to keep it in place. If I was doing some serious off-road stuff I would ratchet the back too.
