Welcome back to our channel! Today, we’re diving into a story that’s unfolding right now in the Philippines: Typhoon Marce. Known internationally as Yinxing, this powerful storm has locals preparing for the worst as it barrels toward northern Luzon, leaving communities scrambling to protect their families and homes.
So, what makes Typhoon Marce so dangerous? And how are the people of the Philippines gearing up to face it? Stick around to find out, and don’t forget to subscribe to stay updated on global events just like this one!
Early this morning, Marce was detected 200 kilometers east of Aparri, a northern coastal town in the province of Cagayan. Moving west-northwest, Marce is packing winds of up to 155 kilometers per hour, with gusts reaching 190 kilometers per hour. For context, these winds are strong enough to uproot trees, tear apart homes, and make rivers overflow. Right now, Marce is classified as a typhoon, which is already a serious category, but experts predict that it may weaken slightly as it makes landfall. Still, even a slight weakening doesn’t mean anyone is out of danger.
