- This lovely stone built village is nestled at the base of a picturesque valley through which the River Glaslyn flows. Steeped in mythology and folklore Beddgelert is a beautiful place to visit or stay if you are travelling through North Wales.

Aye, very popular path, & just when I was imagining a playful trod through the river, well! there be someone already in the middle of it! Cheating though, using the rocks to keep dry. 😂 Don't haveta put up keep off the grass signs do we, 🐑gifts & generously. Unique ambience throughout, 🛩️, cropduster? Oh my but I'd love a backyard as theirs, a lovely singing brook stuffed with rocks. You do have the pinch to find the quaintest places, ❤your instincts. Towards the end, a breathtaking foothill, maybe 1 day we could "mount" one to gander all around & below. Much enjoyed today! Gratitude!
Beddgelert is a lovely place to visit. We stayed for a week, exploring the local area. The village is famous for the Legend of Beddgelert about a legendary wolfhound associated with the village. In the legend, Llywelyn the Great returns from hunting to find his baby missing, the cradle overturned, and Gelert his wolfhound with a blood-smeared mouth. Believing the dog had devoured the child, Llywelyn draws his sword and kills Gelert. After the dog's dying yelp, Llywelyn hears the cries of the baby, unharmed under the cradle, along with a dead wolf which had attacked the child and been killed by Gelert. Llywelyn is overcome with remorse and buries the dog with great ceremony, (then leading to the town name) but can still hear its dying yelp. After that day, Llywelyn never smiles again.

Oh my, a legend of great great sadness especially for Llywelyn who in lament momentarily lost trust and now has to live a with a greater loss by HIS hand the rest of his life.
