I think the theme of this walk for me was change. The river was lower than expected, the views were constantly shifting as you might expect, there was a change of clothes, the old industry had died but signs remained. the old path was no longer covered in ice, nature therapy promised change and the flowers were no longer in full bloom. Brilliant walk-thoroughly enjoyed. All the best. Mark

Spot on Mark. There is a walk I have done loads of times in the Glyderau and I can’t decide which is my favourite..one time I sat in the fog eating lunch with all these weird rock shapes drifting in and out of view and on another occasion there was a foot of snow on the ground but the sun was out and the air was crystal clear, the view amazing. Which was one was best? Both to me. ATB Spencer

I’m going to do this route with my son, who is 10, on Monday. We planned to do it clockwise though, we will be starting near the mine. Hopefully it is ok for his first ever hike. I was tempted to try get over to the summit of moel y dyniewyd. What’s your thoughts? Think it will be ok?

Yes, it's a good route, nothing too strenuous. It's quite steep up from the mine, probably easier to go up from Llyn Dinas. Obviously, the river level may rise over the weekend if we have the storms that are forecast so care needed in the gorge. Enjoy. 👍
