Great points made throughout! The fact that the loot defines the makeup of the character each game, and then they are essentially re-made each dungeon is too me a fresh new mechanic. Mind blowing a bit at first, but I really appreciate it.
Wander does the same thing with character creation as well sort of. You are mostly your loot, but this one has perma-upgrades, that one has game based upgrades
Strong review as expected from Hungrygamer. Have you seen the new dungeon tiles? They look amazing. We found that playing with 4 players evens out the randomness.
I got this because of your first video of this game. Currently, my cat is sleeping on the box. 😛 BTW, _roguelike dungeon crawl_ does mean procedural generation of the dungeon, enemies and loot. Also features exploration, combat and looting.
@@HungryGamerReviews Yes, you did. Another fact: they're called _roguelike_ because of the 70's computer game "Rogue". (I didn't know that until I looked up the definition of _roguelike,_ even though I played "Rogue". Hey, it was 45 years ago.)
You're 100% spot on! Using D10's is a recipe for disaster, the loot feels like garbage cycling, immunity systems are always dull, and the classes are not really classes. Overall the game felt like a chore to play.
Thanks for your thoughts! I can't recall cause my first preview was years ago now but one of the first people I played w bounced off it just as hard as you!
@@user-fr1ys2wn4t well, I don't know that I would say it lacks playtesting. There is a ton of stuff in there that was clearly dialed in. I think he just likes the swing. Nothing about it seems haphazard, and believe me when I say I have played unplaytested stuff many a time!
@@HungryGamerReviewsThere's swingy and there's plain silly. 40 minutes of hitting nothing does not seem like a game that went through a lot of testing imho 😅

One of my favourite dungeon crawlers, I can't wait to see what else is new in the next expansion!
same here
I haven't gotten to see the expansion, other than some of the new characters!

I have only seen them on the GF page! How long does a 4 player game take?
@@HungryGamerReviews
The fastest was around 2,5 hours. But that was after getting used to the flow and the rules.

Hungry tested cat approved.
So I DID know what it meant! 😂

@@HungryGamerReviews Its a shame really. The developer had some great ideas, but it feels like it lacks playtesting.

Would really like to see more of the game and less of your mug
Would really like to get more of a useful comment and less of your snark. But here we are.
Go watch the playthrough video then.
