    I've been waiting for you to take it to the ring. When I go to my track days, I do take some tools with me that will get most stuff done in the bimmer. I also take my trolley jack just in case. Better to be safe than sorry. Enjoy the ring. Please share the videos. Wish I was there with you. Be safe and enjoy. 👍

    One of the essential tools I take with me is a torque wrench…it helps get wheels off but more importantly let’s you check wheel bolts if you have a garage replace a tyre. Last thing you want is an impact wrench tight wheel bolt which only gets worse to remove over time. Safe trip and enjoy the tour.

    Hiya George, enjoy Nurburgring. Can’t wait to see this little pocket rocket lapping it. If you can, strongly suggest to replace all four shocks as you haven’t got them done. You know you can’t go wrong with bilstien. All the best and keep posted.

    Good timing. I’m taking my 130i auto in the spring to the ‘ring. It’s on a 100k. I need to do gear box oil and rocker gasket. I notice it pushes out a little oil when your revving it out more. All other service items and common issues I’ve done recently.

    I'm currently packing to go on a Euro trip, going to take 2x warning triangles, high viz, spare lights, first aid kit, trolley jack, stands and a full range of tools, not looking to have to use them but you never know. I also have a full size UK sticker but it depends where in Europe you're going, I'm going to Spain so it is required. I also have 2 air quality certificate stickers in the front for France and Germany, probably wont need them but just in case I get any agro in my 645ci. Have fun at the ring! Might see you there :)

    You can stop the rally lifters by revving the engine for about 2000 /2500 rpm for a minute or so this will cure the lift rattle

      Yes, I did one and the mrs did one. Our drop kerb is too tight so we’ll be having it extended once we have the driveway done👍🏻

    Have you considered upgrading the brakes to Brembo calipers, especially if you drive around tracks such as the Nürburgring

    • @GeorgeAusters
      @GeorgeAusters  ปีที่แล้ว

      Brembo callipers? Or do you mean a bigger brake setup?

    • @MichaelKettleson
      @MichaelKettleson ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GeorgeAusters Yes bigger brake setup goes with the calipers. My son has a set he is fitting to his E90 Alpina D3 and on his car the rear setup is quite complicated due to the smaller handbrake diameter.adapting 135 Brembo setup to the E90.

    Huge coincidence I happen to do the same thing in my modified 130i (Bilstein's, 135i brakes, M3 LCA etc) , late July as well. Took it through the alps and various German cities and the Nürburgring along the way, only issue I had was a stubborn undertray that came off a few times, other than that car was rock solid. I'd be interested in knowing your BTG times on the ring so I have something to compare mine to.

    Good to see the 1-series 🙏 Lovely Car, can't wait to see it in Germany!
    Btw; could you try and see if easter-egg mode is working on your 130i? I'm very curious to see what it does and if it works at all.
    It doesn't work on a E65, and my E61 is currently not able to drive due to repairs.
    How to enable easter-egg mode: hold down the DTC button (between 10 and 15 seconds) untill all dtc related lights go off.
    Thanks!

    • @Hancock_nl
      @Hancock_nl ปีที่แล้ว

      @@acecin It’s a “secret” traction control mode. Normally one would have on or off, easter egg is in the middle. From what i read and seen, its available in many models and a lot of fun. Google it.

    • @seanpaul3050
      @seanpaul3050 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah not a great idea to take this on the ring. Doesn’t matter if tank is not full. Track driving is going to throw the fuel around due to the high g forces.
      Also, stock brakes will be good for half a lap, if you are lucky.
