OXFORD STATION on 10th December 1987
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Oxford Station taken on 10/12/1987. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all subscriptions and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material. This is when the commuter trains were still in the hands of the class 50s and even on stopping services between London and Oxford. Green class 47 and 50 make an appearance too filmed on a very frosty morning.
Had some great trips to Oxford station in the late 1980’s from Moreton in Marsh on the Cotswold line, highlight seeing 33012 there on a parcels, great days and traction sadly missed. Great vid, thanks for sharing. 👍🏼
Many thanks for watching and for your comment best wishes...Mark

You are most welcome and many thanks for watching and for commenting....best regards...MARK
That's the Oxford I remember - fantastic. Platform 1 was in heavy use that day - probably some operational reason because it wasn't normally like that.
Many thanks for watching and for the comment....best regards...Mark
The driver with 50021 was abit savage! Gave it the lot from a standstill and promptly went into a bad slip- twice!!!
Oxford or Padd man I expect....Many thanks for watching and your comment, sorry for the late response was away for 2 weeks...best wishes...Mark
Intriguing! There are some odd DMU formations here.
Many thanks for watching and for your comment best wishes...Mark
Some very interesting workings on the Paddingtons, inter-regionals and freight. High demand for coal from Didcot power station at that time of year. Interesting to see 47500 doubleheading with 50029 on a Paddington; didn't look like a failure because the 50 was running
Many thanks for watching Andrei and for your comment best wishes...Mark
Double headed passenger services weren't that rare at that time - positional moves to OOC I guess.

I'm amazed at the amount of people who were killed because there wasn't a yellow line or furious paddle wavers shouting at people 😁
Interesting comment and many thanks to you for watching....Mark
see the wm dmus probably a NS PADD working bit grim that
The WM Dmu was indeed a daily working, sometimes a 9 car DMU from Brum - Padd or was it Reading....best wishes....Mark
