6:19 I feel like when you are being treated better, being respected and not harrased all the time, it just boosts you confidence.
I would be confident too if I was a man lol.

this is so interesting to hear! i had a weird experience, i identify as non-binary and a few weeks ago i just wanted to look masculine and that day was the first day in a long time that i didnt physically get pushed and made fun of on the bus by younger children, i just looked at them and they left me alone, i literally dont know if that was something concerning my looks or if the kids were just having a good day. i just thought that was interesting, i might have imagined the whole situation but i feel like even little kids sometimes have more respect of men or boys than women

that is actually super interesting! it could definitely be the case that these kids have more respect for men... obviously depends on how they were raised etc. but it's really interesting how it's already ingrained at such a young age!

Hi, I thought this would be a very interesting topic to talk about because for me male privilege is often so subtle that I barely notice it. Let me know if you had any similar experiences. I find this stuff really fascinating 💛

And good points you've got there.

So male privilege is just basically like. . .when the government just 'thanks you for your service' but does not really give you any tangible benefit. So just cosmetic courtesy.

One thing you said stuck with me. Over all I don't understand why people are praising you as much as you describe but it could have something to do with you being trans and being open and confident about it. This might apply to co works who don't know you that well past your name. Most guys would agree with me that they aren't praised at all. Most of the times we feel ignored or invisible. I do actually have people move to the over side of the street like you mentioned but I'm pretty sure they are trying to avoid me. The kindest people I know are the retail works that compliment me when I'm polite but that's it. Also this is all personal experience so I can pull up statistics that people have probably used for their arguments but did you actually see an increase in pay specifically because you came out as male or was it a promotion or change of work because those don't count. The one thing I noticed is you off handily mention that it is special when a father takes out their kids, but is it that really that weird or different? I know plenty of men who would love to be fathers and spend time with their kids but everyone around them makes it weird. I have gotten looks and stares for looking after my younger sisters and I have heard cases of police being called of fathers because they were hanging around children. The little comments like "Oh, giving mum a break" aren't a very kind thing to say to a father who does back breaking labor to provide child support for his kids because their mother cant be bothered to get her own job living of off welfare checks because she didn't like that he stopped taking their punches. Yes I know this man and it was kind hard to watch as he had everything taken from him in court because it favored a woman who can't even take care of herself.

The video is totally absurd, being looked at to pay, making room on the street, getting more attention, treated nicer, praised for basic things? No man gets any of this for nothing. As a man you are expected to pay, expected to move out of the way on the street. Men have to work hard for the slightest morsel of respect or praise, and they are judged harshly by their actions. You have no idea what it is to be a man. What you mention as privilege is what women get daily as a given. To be white and male you are the root of all evil. You have to have to money to pay to be there, otherwise you don't get respect, people aren't nice to you, and you might aswell not exist. Men are judged for everything and are brought up to take the load or else you aren't even a man.
Men of colour barely get rights, and the men you see paying for dinner are the men who dragged themselves through the shit only to be able to get enough attention to where they are asked to pay the bill, and that alone is something for most men. It takes work to be that man, what you have said are luxuries for most men, to pay, to see their kids, to be praised or noticed takes hard work and can be gone in a second. How many men do you pass by at the gas station with their hand out? You don't know because they don't get praise or attention or niceness or any of what you said just because they are men. You don't even see them because nobody does.
Get a grip, you just decided one day you are a man, and now say how easy it is, no real men got to decide that. It is a privilege for you to be a man at all.. so talk about the struggles they face and have empathy, quickly you will learn that nobody wants to hear it. Thats why you go on about how easy they have it. Thats all people want to hear, so they can feel okay that they told the man at the station with his hand out they don't have change. You come back and make a video after you tried to support a family, then you will know what it is like.

I did enjoy watching this video and seeing that the trans experience can be positive. It makes me feel like we have made progress as a society when trans people can say they live a more privileged life post transition.

Well, how about when you are walked to a car when concerned or scared? How about being approached for dates and relationships and not having to risk yourself and do the approaching? How about getting into clubs for free, or having others pay for your dates? How about better service in general, or being able to make friends, or having your feeling and concerns taken seriously. I have a feeling that all of the people that buy this garbage aren't really critically thinking.

@@Jxuptosae I've never been approached as a female and never offered drinks, 34 now. In Finland it's different. We don't have that culture "oh can I get your number".

I am very certain, it has to do on you being trans than you chose to be male. I'm a cis guy of color and I get none of what you said we have, literally zero. I literally not exist in the eyes of people around me short for my family, they tends to refuse to give me small help or just acting decent, no one praise me for anything as if what I do is bare minimum even when I did my best, and I will be judged every time I fail anything.

Just gotta say that trans people also don't choose to be men, women or non-binarys they are already born like that. It's something that they discover.

But aren't gender and sex separate?
Sex is biological and and genders a social construct right? So wouldn't it be "man rights"...
