Would you trust an untested electrical product to save 90% of the cost?
It’s £8. I would. I waste more than £8 on food per week.
why not?
如果我有足够的预算,我肯定不会优先考虑这些产品。
Actually many of them are identical because they are produced in the same factories, same specs, same employees, the only difference is they haven't been price inflated due to a name being printed on them by greedy companies. What you will see here is how badly you are being ripped off. Those Nike joggings that cost you 200, guess what they cost less than 10 cents to produce, and then when someone sells you the same ones for 10 without the label, you rally to the support of the companies ripping you off and then you wonder why your society is a mess?
yes if they are not related to security issues, and they have been tested either by manufacturer or by you, before u buy them.
China can provide expensive electronic products as well as cheap electronic products for different consumers. The products of Apple and SWITCH are too expensive, and some of Huaqiang North's products are imitation or second-hand renovation, which provides a great way to save money for the poor. 80% of the electronic products in the world are made in China, and the mobile phones and clothes you use are basically made in China. You can tell by the label.Only after I went to China did I realize that China is advanced and futuristic. The real China: "Very developed, cheap, cashless society, very green and environmentally friendly, very safe, no drugs or guns. The people are very friendly." It’s great to see your authentic shots of China in your videos.I am so impressed by this.
US Government: You are right but China is still evil
Second hand renovation: should be refurbished

for poor🥲=for me😭🤣
Clothes, not so much anymore, it's Bangladesh these days, China has become to expensive.
You can't complain with these prices. If you want brand name, you can try Xiaomi. I brought one of their wireless power bank almost 7 years ago. It still works. But the Japanese brand regular power bank I brought at the same time didn't last even 3 years. And I used the Xiaomi more often because it has wireless charging.
Xiaomi or Mi are not bad. They actually has a showroom in Auckland, New Zealand.
try xiaomi phone which has high CP value
Apple is making huge profits . you guys dont understand how cheap is the materials cost . alot of costs is R & D which unfortunately apple had to pay for it .
@@davidwong7283 Apple R&D has not produced anything new for many years. Huawei has spent more than more Microsoft and Apple. It is a little behind Alphabet. Amazon is number 1. R&D is just excuse nowadays for huge profit margins.

🤩🤩 I want these stores in the USA. You guys are SHOPPING LIKE A BILLIONAIRE! - TEMU
Honestly you could go crazy, so much fun!!
Now we all know how fat the profits of 🍎 can be !😅
@@tkh2944 Their products cost them a lot to design, let's not make fun of them, apple was a pioneer in the area.
😅
@@tkh2944And complaining. Only the elite have the right to buy cheap and resell! The mass should stay put, and feed the upper chain.
The HuaQiangBei area mainly does wholesale for the rest of China and International, so not really interested in small quantity tourist business. There wasn't much price mark-up (so no room for haggling) from the apple products you bought as they'd probably thought you're buying a sample and may come back to buy in bulk. Fake markets usually buy from HQB but would quote you say 600rmb for the watch and expect you to haggle down to 300.
You guys got great deals because you bought from the top of the supply chain (the source), well done !!!
hello is there any specific building/mall that you recommend shopping at to avoid heavy markups!
I purchased a fake kinetic powered rolex in Shenzhen for £15 back in 2002... still works perfectly today.

Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching !
90% of the products are genuine. Just they are assembled " out of house " from spare parts out of the factory
The best part is they are assembled by the same people who worked on those factories. They have a middle man who intercepts the reject products, move them to a warehouse and reconstruct a new product from the old ones (which are basically new btw since they came from production).
What you get is a product that is basically the same as what would have been sold for hundreds of dollars in the west.
And out of curiosity, do you know where these products you mention are located?@@slayerbllade

Thanks for showing us this electronic market. I’m going there soon!!!
Thank you very much ❤️❤️❤️
Nice video….thanks for sharing 😊
very nice. and your frugal humble way of living is so impressive.
Today and tomorrow is very good for walking the “ spring festival flowers market”, people will buy flowers before the new year festival come. That’s very beautiful and a lot of people. Each city has a place for the flowers market ( the biggest ones) you need to research or ask local where is it. It’s called “花市”,( Hua Shi) visit the biggest one in the city.the vibe is very good.
great shopping. great video
you guys are the only chinese content youtubers I watch. Just actual travelling and vlogging, no propoganda. Keep up the good work :))
You should also watch Sun Kissed Bucket List, very good!
what makes you believe others propogate?
There's also Katherine's Journey to the East, Blondie in China, and some others that generally don't mention any politics at all.
“Sun kiss bucket list” is also a good one to watch.

A lot of branded tech gadgets are actually matured technology but sold at high price (brand premium). So I would pay for the generic one similar performance at much lower price. Thank you China!

Lovely couple!
It's one of my favor place in Shenzhen which I can spend the whole afternoon there. You can also fix your mobile or laptop with a very low price in high quality. Nearby also have many great street food and shopping mall.
You should walk around first and then buy because a lot of shop have the same products and you decide which shop has the best price, then you buy. That’s what I do whenever I go to China.
best china exploring couples to see on youtube !
Wooo thank you very much
Great content.
Thank you very much ❤️
I got a laptop there 6 years ago and it's still going strong and i still don't know if its a real Lenovo!
hahaha, good deal
Lenovo don't worth to copy
Almost all the Lenovos at HQB will be real, but refurbished. Reason is Levono is made from pretty cheap (but solid) generic parts anyway. They're great value!
Happy Chinese New Year to you. Enjoy your trip.
heppy new year guys 🎉
Now you guys know how nice to live in china, everything is cheaper and nicer, from food to hi tech stuff. US GDP is bigger only by USD, China has taken over US long time ago by purchasing power partiy. That's how competitive Chinese economy is, and how US is worried 😂
Great shopping experience
We loved it!!
You can actually distinguish them by simply looking at the prices. Like if the price is only 10% they are definitely fake ones but in some stores they do sell the real ones with close prices so. But the iPhone you saw from the store is likely to be a partially damaged second-hand iPhone so they cut the price down. Some people would buy those types of phones as a spare one or working phone.
so much fun!!

@@alanshannon3884 2024 Year of the Dragon start on 10th Feb.
I suggest you go to the car sales shop in China. Cars of the same brand and model sold in China are one-third to one-half cheaper than those sold in the UK. For example, Toyota's Corolla car sells for 170000 yuan in Britain and only 90000 yuan in China. If you buy a car in China, it's still much cheaper than in the UK with the freight.
Unfortunately that isn't true, import taxe and type approval make importing Chinese cars uneconomical, even in bulk. And of course there's no warranty back-up.
@@ziggarillo no, it's true. toyota has factories in china, those corollas are extually made in china, so they are not changed with import tax,and for sure they have proper back-up.
not only toyota, but also bmw, mercedes, audi, cadillac, nissan, landrover and all brand you can think of. only very luxurious car brand are more expensive in china because of importing tax, like lambourgini, ferrari, aston martin ,rr, for now.
Interesting 🤔
I used to be a mobile phone repair practitioner. The learning institution would take us to Huaqiangbei to buy various unusable mobile phone motherboards for repair practice.
Very nice. Never been here before. Will definitely come here in the future.
You should definitely make time to visit, we spent the whole day here 🤣
Some people come to our shop and mention your video. Thank you so much Alan & Shannon
Which shop are you please ( which building and number ;) thanks a lot
Truthful and innocent couple. Subscribed and best wishes.
Haha 你俩,you can sell those things in Scotland for way way way higher price. Feels like y’all have found treasure here.
Maybe some of the products are not branded or not the name you’ve heard from the advertisements, which doesn’t mean they are “fake”. If you can afford higher prices then okay, go looking for the luxury items for the luxury price. Most people in the world seek for the affordability and then quality, Chinese products can provide you with both and that’s why made in China products are everywhere in the world, the market doesn’t lie. Moreover, if you want much more expensive items, there’re also branded products that possibly are from the same factory where you got your cheaper ones without the brand name.
Wonderful experience.let us know how are the games!
They work perfect!! We have been playing them every night🤣

For the Nintendo games, they are real, they were cheap because they were second-hand and it was written in chinese on the box.
The chinese version of the game is also real but it doesn't work on the international version of the Switch because it's geoblocked.
On chinese Switch both international and chinese version of games work, on international Switch only international version of games work.
Great that they don't ask for a ridiculous price for these any more
happy Chinese new Year.
It is quite liberating to see British people realizing they had been paying over the odds for every single thing in their life and thinking it is a good idea to support corporate greed masquerading as "genuine stuff".
This market is just a microcosm of the electronic product industry chain in Guangdong, here are all kinds of accessories suppliers and factories that you can’t even imagine.
I would love to go shopping here!!
Great video guys, better that the Barras any day of the week :)
🤣🤣 the good old days
Huaqiangbei is and absolute paradise for techies and geeks.
The Switch games are legit and even thought if the box says Chinese it will have English if the game has an English version.
Generally the super cheap stuff are knock offs or imitations, but the goods that are branded and packaged and are 10-20% off UK prices then they will be genuine. UK and Europe has inflated prices.
The switch games were almost 50% cheaper, works perfectly they are legit
Wish we got loads more
@@alanshannon3884 I think the cheapest switch games can be bought in Russian online store or Agentina online store.
Chinese players often "migrate" online to find the cheapest online stores😂
Most are third-party compatible products. All are actually good enough if you don't require much. After all, not everyone can afford the high brand premium.
The coolest thing about Huaqiangbei is that there are a lot of useful parts and components that people who are good at electronics can use to make many interesting DIY objects!
Chinese New Year is in a few days, so if you're still around I hope you've made arrangements. After all, there will be a lot less people in the big cities around Chinese New Year. Good luck with your travels.
Taken apart many earbuds to connect with PWM amp chips for wireless hi-fi speakers, fiddly but works : )
Should just buy more if these stuff while you are there. It's only 10% of the actual price. Even if it last 2 years, it's worth it

I think Steve Jobs also wants me to own an Apple Watch with one extra band 😁
You can't even buy a Big Mac Trio for these prices here in North America !
This area is more a wholesale district than a retail one.
A lovely couple.
In 2013, I took my small Dell portable computer to change a new battery and service for 120 rmb or C$22 👍👍👍
Hello, I really like your videos, they are fair and impartial. I'm in Huizhou, a city near Shenzhen. Huizhou is also a beautiful cultural ancient city. Huizhou also has a West Lake, cultural ancient towns, and a plethora of delicious snacks. If you're interested, you can come take a look.
Are they working now, perfectly.? How can u expect wood quality at this price.
it is more recommended to buy MI electrical products which good quality guarantee but half price of equivlant Apple products. you can always find MI brand stores in the downtown area.
Great video guys, if you are still in China maybe go and check out some EV's, when I was in China last year a new VW ID3 was £12,000 and a Tesla Model 3 about £23,000, just a shame they won't fit in your suitcase lol.
@alanshannon, does those Switch games u bought from Shenzhen works in your Switch LED handheld?
i hope you will enjoy our pen. Nice to meet you guys.
This reminds me of the Golden Computer Arcade in Hong Kong back in the late 1980s - lots of small dodgy kiosks selling all sorts of interesting stuff, from pirated software to fake Apple II and IBM PC computers. Great place to explore!
All I can say is that Apple products are super overpriced in NA and UK, the costs of manufacturing are actually super low 😂
But in U$UK people are programmed to pay way more, to feel that they are buying quality products, it's the illusion of paying more for a branded product made in China. LOL
How do you think apple has more cash than most countries?
In America, many americans are so propagandized, they pay over the odds for almost everything, some would defend corporations for making enormous profits, many practices are based only on profits, tipping for example is now the norm, not only you have to tip a certain high percentage for zero value added to the service in everything. Americans are practically trained to pay for everything. If the govt pass new legislation, saying americans have to pay a tax for breathing to be green, they would too...in the UK people have to pay to drive to London to stay green, total insanity, whilst politicians and oligarcs jets everywhere!!! Welcome to real freedom!....for the ruling class.@@stvdmc2011
Those packaged electronics/game cartridges that look real are actually real. the shop owners would always tell you if they’re fake when you ask
It's really amazing when you have an apple watch imitation that have more function and works as well as the iWatch.
Shenzhen is the best
hey alan how is the airpods anc working? compared to the original?
I'm an Aussie who has lived in SZ for ten years now, and HQB is a regular place for locals (and local laoweis) to go for anything electronic. You DO have to be a bit careful because some of the fakes are trash, but there are some genuine resellers there who refurbish used parts into basically new products for a tiny fraction of the original price.
That said, Taobao is still just as good and more convenient. But with both of them available to us here, we're very spoilt for any tech!
BTW, my last tech purchase was a audioshokz style (bone conducting) set of sporting headphones with bluetooth, 32GB of built in RAM, and IP68 water/dust resistance. It's VERY good and cost about USD$40. Bargain!
I really enjoyed this shopping video, as a Chinese, I don't know how affordable those products are in Shenzhen. I need to go to this market myself, thanks for your sharing these first hand info
华强北是拼多多的重要供货渠道,华强北能买到的大多数在拼多多也能买。

Will you be doing a review after you played around with the stuff you bought and become familiarised with it?
Stay for a little longer. Huaqiangbei engineers are going to make you Apple Vision Pro. They say they can make everything including missles.
The iPhone and game cartridge are real, but the iPhone is second-hand or has had its screen camera replaced, and the game cartridge is a parallel import from Hong Kong. It also has a watch with many functions, including sleep monitoring and blood oxygen monitoring. I even think it's more accurate than my apple watch, but the animation on apple watch is smoother.
now u know how much are Dyson or Apple really earning😂

No no they are not the same quality and reliability.
but it is cheap !@@cheetaih
@@cheetaih It depends. Some of them actually came off the same assembly line.

What a pretty young Lady Shannon is!
You guys should upgrade the storage size of your iphone to 1tb at about £50
I watched your video in Huaqiang North, and it said that the memory of the Apple phone was insufficient. It is recommended that you in any city in China, find a mobile phone repair shop, you can expand the memory of the iPhone (1tb), you can back up the mobile phone data.
Might have to add Shenzhen to the list of next holiday destinations
Do it, you won’t regret it!
I believe they have warranty as well. Maybe not very long.
Cute couple yo!
The Apple phone you are looking at is genuine and a modified version from the United States. We removed valuable items such as the camera, face, and battery from the original product and sold them as genuine products. We replaced them with assembly parts to make a profit. This way, the American version of the Apple phone is cheaper. The phone is genuine, but the assembly parts are replaced
