carmilla's design, as someone said, is based on a swan which shows in how she fights and moves. very graceful and elegant, especially with ballet shoes since swans are typically synonymous with ballet dancers due to the gracefulness
1) Vaggie could have thought that by sparing the sinner, she fell and was no longer protected as an angel. Whereas she was an angel the whole time, she just got maimed by her boss and fired from her job as an exorcist. 2) She could have thought that angels could harm angels but demons couldn’t, which was why Lute was able to hurt her.
Literally right after Vaggie said “I’m not used to fighting with long hair” Carmilla let her hair down and showed her it’s not an excuse. LOVE THIS SCENE ❤❤❤❤
It helps that the person she's training doesn't really need to learn much. All Camilla had to show Vaggie was the weak points in the way Angels fight because Vaggie is already a trained warrior and have her practice a little with that knowledge.
What's great about it is that the short training shows. Vaggie still has trouble fighting Lute and almost loses instead of the tiny amount of training causing her to outmatch Lute. It's done well
@CrystalRose1111 My biggest problem with the show is the ultra fast pace lmao, vaggie's backstory is entirely over in like 30 seconds which makes it hard to process the tragedy in it for example. Sometimes it just needs time to breathe
What I love about Carmilla in this scene is that she's a mother. A mother is neither an angel nor a demon. A mother will stop at nothing to protect her children, she would draw blood if her babies are threatened and will find ways to keep them safe. So in other words Carmilla was always 'out for love.'
she was asked did you know theyu could be harmed, not did you know demons could hurt them? its bad writing here, she should have know, if you say "maybe she tought hurt by demons" its still bad since that means she should know angelic power could hurt them, so she would have told the others in the hotel to steal a weapon from them so they can fight or something@@PillocksAnimationCentre
They probably know they can be harmed by their own weapons but by other angels, it was the first time an exorcist died in hell which could mean the first time a demon was able to hit 'em back, Vaggie didn't know demons could put a stunt like this tho

@@predalien1413 To be honest Heaven’s standards seems to be ridiculously high in this verse, I mean, in the pilot, during Inside of Every Demon is a Rainbow, Charlie lists the type of people in Hell, and in that list there is literally « Crying Babies »
@@HiccupandToothless That’s just the representation in hell not in their life. For all we know those could be ancient babies or individuals who were reborn as that. Charlie’s list is suspect at best since she doesn’t really know a lot about her own people.
@@predalien1413 Tbh it depends how you take the lore about sinners, since their appearances are reflection of their human form, why would a sinning adult appear as a crying baby and be described as such ? But I can see your point
An angel being taught by a sinner to let go of her hatred and fight with love is an interesting thing. It also makes you wonder Is that a lesson Camilla learned in hell, has she been in someway redeemed or was she damned for "fight[ing[ without gloves" for somebody.
It's strongly speculated that she is Latin American / Spanish, and the instrumentals sound like a fusion of Flamenco (Spanish) and Latin American music genres.
concidering how she only use kicks, no fists and no weapons (other than her point shoes) her fighting style reasembles taekwondo (coming from someone who has trained taekwondo for 18 years)
"It's not rocket science." Ouch, that has got to sting and yes Vaggie, she did beat the shit out of you. You're just lucky she upheld her end of the bargain and letting you leave with what you want and YOUR LIFE.
She has no reason to kill her. Carmilla wants the angels dead just as much, but doesn't dare to get involved directly. To kill Vaggie would make her a massive target.
@Mediados which is true. She doesn't have to nor need to kill her. I think they meant that when Vaggie came to thier place, and threathened to reveal Carmila's secret (about killing the angel on extermination), that when she told Vaggie to convince her, or "she'd silence her forever" that Camila really meant it. She has the means and has proven she's a skilled fighter.
@@AkoyaMacmac7281 Carmilla's not an idiot. She probably knew that Vaggie wouldn't tell anybody if she merely requested it. Even if Vaggie did tell it wouldn't matter because after the events of the Finale, everybody in Hell knows Angels can be killed. But Carmilla has to maintain her status as a dangerous overlord, and she likely wanted to test Vaggie to get a sense of her true allegience before granting her the knowledge she sought.
Nah man, she just wanted to make sure Vaggie was fighting for the right reason: for love. She was satisfied and rooting for them to win. She doesn't want the heat to come down on her house.
Well @CouchSpud91 What we can deduce is that Carmila is very serious about protecting what's important to her. Which she's already stated that she's crosses some lines she didn't want to before. But yes, she doesn't want to draw any unnecessary attention, which is why she opened the door. But we can't assume the threat of erasure wasn't serious based off of what we already know about Carmila.

Carmilla became my favorite character so quickly. she seems caustic and guarded, but it’s just a heavy stone facade protecting an incredibly strong heart. i love her maturity in trying to avoid the war, but when it’s too late to do so, she puts her whole back into it. plus, her design is a lot simpler compared to the other characters’ but so gorgeous!
I like how Carmilla keeping her hair up makes her look like a rabbit demon, but when she lets it down and shows the stripes its clear she's a TIGER demon.

WOAH I LOVE CARMILLA'A HAIR WHEN SHE LET IT DOWN, IT LOOKS SO FLUFFY AND BEAUTIFUL, AND THE WAY SHE MOVES MAKES THE HAIR LOOK SUPER FLOWY AND FLUFFY!!!😍
That is true, but it could be possible that she might have thought the only reason Adam and Lute were able to hurt her was because they were technically higher ranking than her, so haturally they would be able to hurt her. Additionally, like Carmilla said, even demons who have angelic steel were often not “rushing off to test it on an exorcist”. Up until that point, it was Carmilla who figured it out while protecting her daughters. And the fact that no effort to do so by other demons has led to the illusion of even greater invulnerability against demons. I can see the rationale of where they were going, but I do think it was kinda explained poorly.
@@Vecchio_Rhosod85This part of the writing isn't bad at all. It's reasonable to assume angels would be able to hurt each other even if demons can't hurt angels. No one in Hell had seen a demon harm an angel before, so it makes perfect sense that Vaggie would say that.
I find it nice and worrying that so far some.of the Overlords are friendly or friendly in a twisted way. Alastor is helping the Hotel (Though he is doing it for the sake of a deal so it kind of half counts). Rosie despite being the leader of the Cannibal Colony gave Charlie relationship advice and counciling, as well as an army of Cannibals. And here Carmila is giving Vaggie some mild relationship advice, fighting tips, and weapons. All while assulting Vaggie at first to make a point. Though I am almost certain most of these Overlords are out for something. Clearly Alastor and Rosie may want power over Charlie so they can effectively rule Hell. Carmila is probably out to protect her daughters and maybe make things easier on herself for her arms dealing.
I have three to four examples of overlords who are not as friendly: the V's(Valentino, Vox and Velvette) and the fourth one being Zestial since well this man is both ancient and highly respected, he had people setting themselves on fire by being in his mere presence, the fact he and Carmine are old friends is quite scary since one is an arms dealer and the other is an ancient sinner in a career requiring many souls and being quite the menace
It seems that the overall theme for the entire Hellaverse is that while there are some angels and demons who may fully adhere to the black and white duality, nearly everyone involved are various shades of gray. Many sinners are awful people but they genuinely have positive qualities about them. In addition to your points, Angel wants to protect others from slipping into any sort of similar hell he's in and genuinely wants everybody around him to have a good time. Husk takes his role of "bartender" seriously as an attempt to give some layman's therapy to those he talks to. SPOILERS: Sir Pentious literally redeemed himself purely because he had people show him love and affection. And over in Helluva, Moxxie and Millie have the most wholesome of relationships with Moxxie actively being an oddball because he's not a hellion like most imps are. And vice versa. While supposedly the bastians of goodness, Heaven and its angels have serious issues that are problematic to say the least. Sera agreed to allow hoards go down and kill the souls of Sinners, granting Exterminaters the right to commit what should be Sin on a massive scale. Adam embodies multiple Deadly Sins (he's a Lusty horndog who is Envieous that Lucifer stole both his girls and extremely Wrathful against all sinners and demons) while Lute is equally Vengeful, and the Cherubs in Helluva Boss got so bad they were actually banned from Heaven.
Carmilla is the characther with the best design and a great singing voice The scene initial notes are typical of a spanish bullfight, it was a nice touch
I think it's less that she knew they could be 'harmed' and more that she didn't realize Angels could be 'killed' like Demons and Sinners are. She also might have assumed God's Grace was revoked for her (like it was for the Cherubs in Helluva Boss) and that's why she was hurt hence not realizing it.
Hell, maybe Carmilla herself could be redeemed, she loves her daughters so much she fought and killed an angel to protect them despite knowing it would possibly kill her, she was just buying time for them, and walked out of the fight with her life. She is nice and affable and responsible and smart, she could be the first Overlord to be redeemed, and her daughters would follow her, and it would be so sweet.
@@saparapatepete yeah and also her not wanting to go to war with heaven. I mean- only a former angel would care that much about the possible imbalance. Lucifer cares, Carmilla cares, and I think Vaggie might care. However they are all for redeeming souls because that might not upset the balance
Also, the fact that she has daughters. If Im not mistaken, sinners are not able to reproduce in hell, so how did she? If Lucifer can have a child, which is a human sinner(Lilith), then she might be a fallen angle, too. I mean, Lucifer can't be the only one.
How Carmilla explained the Exorcists' flaws in perfect detail got through even Vaggie's thick skull, that she understood the moment she heard it. Carmilla was absolutely right in how the Exorcists fought with reckless abandon becuz they really were unafraid of getting hurt. They didn't need to worry about defense since they thought nothing the demons could do would ever be able to harm them... until Carmilla risked her own life to protect her daughters and discovered the secret: The Exorcists are vulnerable to their own weapons, many of which they foolishly left behind after every Extermination Carmilla was absolutely correct that no demon would have dared to fight the Exorcists, even armed with angelic weapons, becuz before Carmilla did none of them figured out the weapons themselves were the Exorcists' weakness. The weapons... and their own reckless arrogance The Exorcists carried no shields and wore little armor, becuz there was no point in arming themselves defensively. They believed they were invincible, which made them arrogant and it never crossed their minds that the demons would ever be able to kill even one of them They weren't real warriors, only vile and sadistic killers no better than the demons they killed. In some cases they were even worse! Vaggie alone proved otherwise when she mercifully spared a sinner child... and she was unjustly punished for it Adam paid for his own vile hubris, and I look forward to seeing Lute choke on her own blood or some other pathetic death
@@d4-v1d22Assuming Sera allows the Exterminations to continue given all that's happened. Not to mention, all of Hell now knows the angels, especially the Exorcists, aren't invincible, plus there are still plenty of angelic weapons leftover by them from the previous Exterminations Yes, the Exorcists and other like-minded angels will prepare themselves for the next conflict, but the demons will be far from helpless. They'll be ready as well, with a vengeance worth ten thousand years of god knows how many sinners slain
@@d4-v1d22That is what I'm concerned since now the Exorcists face their first defeat and losing Adam. Now that Lute is in charge, she'll do anything to get revenge. Lute will try to get some upgrades and get armor and better training. Also, Sera will be a problem since she will continue it. Charlie and the others will have to find a way to end the Extermination before it's too late. I hope Emily will play a part of helping Charlie and the others.
Carmilla is really the MVP and she is very intelligent. That is why she is an Overlord. Carmilla is a true warrior while the Exorcists were just killers. Now that Lute and the surviving Exorcists know the truth, they will try to get better weapons and armor.
Carmilla is my favorite Overlord shown so far, her unflappable attitude is just fantastic. It's also hilarious how she's just constantly taunting Vaggie while simultaneously teaching her in between singing this absolute banger of a song. Also, I know people are ragging on Vaggie about the whole "Angels can't be harmed" thing, but she's the only Exorcist she knows of that got hurt, and that was by Lute, Adam's second in command. And considering how it appears that Carmilla's the first Demoness EVER to kill an Exorcist, the gap in knowledge makes more sense.
I've heard a few complaints about this song being too cheesy, like it's something you'd hear in a kids show. Here's the thing though, it's not promoting the "power of friendship" or whatever, ar least not in the typical sense. It's encouraging you to fight for the good of others, rather than for the good of yourself, and to let go of your rage, because in the end it will only end up hurting you more.
I love this video cause it has the sound effects dialed up somehow, including the clinking of Carmilla’s shoes on the ground, makes the scene so much more complete

I love this scene. Carmilla's Choreography, voice, fighting style, and how she helped Vaggie quickly made her one of my favorite overlords. She could've just exploited the situation and charged Vaggie and Charlie for using her weapons and the secret to kill angels. But instead she chose to help Vaggie overcome her own issues and teach her so she could protect herself and Charlie in the battle with the exorcists. I hope we see more of her and the other overlords in the next season.

its bad writing here, she should have know, if you say "maybe she tought hurt by demons" its still bad since that means she should know angelic power could hurt them, so she would have told the others in the hotel to steal a weapon from them so they can fight or something@@PillocksAnimationCentre

YOU ARE THE EMBODIEMENT OF ANGELS CAN BE HURT
That is true, but it could be possible that she might have thought the only reason Adam and Lute were able to hurt her was because they were technically higher ranking than her, so haturally they would be able to hurt her. Additionally, like Carmilla said, even demons who have angelic steel were often not “rushing off to test it on an exorcist”. Up until that point, it was Carmilla who figured it out while protecting her daughters. And the fact that no effort to do so by other demons has led to the illusion of even greater invulnerability against demons. I can see the rationale of where they were going, but I do think it was kinda explained poorly.
she is saying that she didnt know sinners could hurt them, it literally does not need to be explained and worded exactly like that to get the context
Yeah, the show's writing and story are kind of broken.
@@Vecchio_Rhosod85Hurt by demons. Not broken at all
@@Vecchio_Rhosod85This part of the writing isn't bad at all. It's reasonable to assume angels would be able to hurt each other even if demons can't hurt angels.
No one in Hell had seen a demon harm an angel before, so it makes perfect sense that Vaggie would say that.
I love the fact that at the only point that Carmilla seems to lose a bit of her patience is when Vaggie questions her intelligence by accident.

I absolutely love the sound of her heels clicking with the rhythm of music. So soothing
Then there's Zestial who's very close to Carmilla. It's quite surprising yet nice to see not all overlords are douchebags like Vs .
Overlords make their living by making deals. That means they're willing to give a little if they can get something back.
@@seanr.6498 Manners make deals easier and to get someone to trust them with their souls you gotta really up the charm.

"no"
Uh Vag.... ur an angel and u lost ur eye and ur wings, pretty sure you know you, an angel, can be harmed 😂😅
Bruh exactly what i was thinking 😭😭
I think she meant harmed by demons
Harmed clearly is a stand in for killed here.
I think it's less that she knew they could be 'harmed' and more that she didn't realize Angels could be 'killed' like Demons and Sinners are. She also might have assumed God's Grace was revoked for her (like it was for the Cherubs in Helluva Boss) and that's why she was hurt hence not realizing it.
that was angel on angel violence though
I get the feeling that carmilla would probably try to convince her daughters to give redemption a chance

This is my favorite song in hazbin hotel, And i just notice, Vaggie toward the end of the song starts dancing on points to match Carmilla, fantastic.
Omg Carmilla’s hair when moving around ITS JUST SO ✨MAJESTIC✨
How Carmilla explained the Exorcists' flaws in perfect detail got through even Vaggie's thick skull, that she understood the moment she heard it.
Carmilla was absolutely right in how the Exorcists fought with reckless abandon becuz they really were unafraid of getting hurt. They didn't need to worry about defense since they thought nothing the demons could do would ever be able to harm them... until Carmilla risked her own life to protect her daughters and discovered the secret: The Exorcists are vulnerable to their own weapons, many of which they foolishly left behind after every Extermination
Carmilla was absolutely correct that no demon would have dared to fight the Exorcists, even armed with angelic weapons, becuz before Carmilla did none of them figured out the weapons themselves were the Exorcists' weakness. The weapons... and their own reckless arrogance
The Exorcists carried no shields and wore little armor, becuz there was no point in arming themselves defensively. They believed they were invincible, which made them arrogant and it never crossed their minds that the demons would ever be able to kill even one of them
They weren't real warriors, only vile and sadistic killers no better than the demons they killed. In some cases they were even worse!
Vaggie alone proved otherwise when she mercifully spared a sinner child... and she was unjustly punished for it
Adam paid for his own vile hubris, and I look forward to seeing Lute choke on her own blood or some other pathetic death
One problem though. Now the Exorcists know that demons have something that can kill them, and also that they can die. They’ll be prepared next time
@@d4-v1d22Assuming Sera allows the Exterminations to continue given all that's happened.
Not to mention, all of Hell now knows the angels, especially the Exorcists, aren't invincible, plus there are still plenty of angelic weapons leftover by them from the previous Exterminations
Yes, the Exorcists and other like-minded angels will prepare themselves for the next conflict, but the demons will be far from helpless.
They'll be ready as well, with a vengeance worth ten thousand years of god knows how many sinners slain
I’m pretty sure she spared an imp and not a sinner
