When I was a kid, a local pizza parlor had a Wurlitzer Pipe-Organ, and other venues had Electronic Organs. My dad was an Electronics Engineer and played mostly 1920s-40s Material on the Piano. My guitar playing started as part of an attempt to master the rest of the Rhythm Section and to give an alternative to Organ/Keyboards in a small group (usually Duo) backing singers.

I moved to a new location a few years ago but having trouble meeting others so I've been on a solo quest for a few years and I'm loving it. No solo gigs yet, but excited to hear more.

Hi Jake, great video thank you! How would you go about approaching venues to get solo guitar gigs? And apologies if too personable or what not, but how would you go about pricing two 45 minute sets? I’ve got a solid 45 minute set at the moment and working on the second set before I approach anyone, but as I’m fairly new to solo guitar playing in public I wouldn’t want to sell myself too short. Excellent new series, Jake! I'm looking forward to seeing more. I remember marveling at a solo guitarist set up in the Atlanta airport. She seemed to have an endless repertoire. This was back in the late 90s, I think, and when I tried to find arrangements to play at the music store, almost nothing was available. Thanks to you, times have changed.

I’ve got a solid 45 minute set at the moment and working on the second set before I approach anyone, but as I’m fairly new to solo guitar playing in public I wouldn’t want to sell myself too short.
