I've had a Samsung S8 since its launched. No screen protector. Not a single scratch on the glass. I love how the bare glass feels to the touch. Nothing beats that kind of smoothness.

The film protectors do they leave horizontal lines in the middle of the screen? How do they hold up to scratches?
They are kind of rubbery so they dont scratch very easily and they do have an orange peel kind of effect when you look at them at an angle

A lot of these generic film protectors from Amazon contain identical supplies. I wouldn't be surprised if they were all the same protector, too.

The Ringke is actually a great screen protector, not very case friendly though. I would recommend it. Make sure you got your screen DUST FREE before install, I got 2 small bubble dots on mine but that's my fault.

Yes, it's rubbery as expected like any other plastic screen protector, not too bad though. Of course, its also going to scratch, its plastic. You need a tempered glass screen protector if you want smooth & scratch resistant.
Can u do a review of the tech armor glass screen protector please?
To prevent side from rising up, allow it to dry for 10mins (or so), but it would take lesser time if you carefully blast it with warm air by the use of a hair dryer. My Rinke didnt peel out at the aides, it was amazing.

Expect scratches on all plastic screen protectors. Some will be better than others
I bought the number 6 screen protector but it's a 6d. The finger print sensor works 3 or 4 times out of 10, I had to rescan my finger print not great but manageable.
I think what most people are trying to find out is if there are any tempered glass (NOT WHITESTONE DOME) protectors that actually adhere to the Galaxy S10. Losing the finger print scanner isn't a big deal since it barely works with the OEM TPU protector and most people just want to protect their $899+ investment from drops. Ringke definitely sounds good to replace the OEM one just from scratches.
It does check my video and it only cost me about £4 from ebay but the only bad side is its only got glue at the top and bottom corner so if you press really hard there is a slide.

I bought the ringke after seeing this video while back and was pissed with the screen protector. All had bubbles that wouldn't go away and the bottom corners peeled up, it's the same material as stick on window tint. Was not happy about the purchase

I got the PULEN under another brand from EBay ($10 for 2)they are liquid film and it works excellent didn't even have to re-do the finger print and installation was easy. just have to know how to install. gotta follow a link they give you.. And what surprised me was I installed it in top of the factory one..--Didn't know it came with it..
I've subscribed and appreciate this information. I've already ordered and sent back two film protectors for Samsung 8 Plus phone as both either have too many bubbles or the edges come up when I put the phone back in my case. Can you recommend me a brand I can order that would work for me? I usually order from Amazon and I am a senior citizen.
The one in this video that he seemed to like the most for the Galaxy S10+ was the Ringke Dual Easy Film. You say that you have a Galaxy S8+, and Ringke does appear to have that screen protector for the S8+ so I'd maybe suggest that. They seem to have it available on Amazon (at least in Canada) still despite the fact that the S8+ is nearing 3 years old, which is good! Don't hesitate to find videos on screen protectors for your device specifically though.

I never felt the need to buy a screen protector for my S10 at all. The pre-installed protector works well for me. Good as new. I use a Spigen case for the phone and it has raised edges so that when the phone drops the screen will be safe from breaking.
Well then again if you are the type of person who just put your phone anywhere and rough with it there will always be scratches no matter what screen protector you use 🤷♀️
Marie Antoine well i got the smaller s10 and I’m using the pre installed protector with Samsung protective standing case, now I’ve been quite careful with the phone yet the pre installed screen protector is full of scratches. Im trying ringke soon

My Spigen case saved my s10+ flew out off my pocket on cement and not a scratch .

the otao are not to bad of a screen protector and they are glass i used one for 6 months they are a laminated plastic and vary thin layer of flexible sapphire glass so it don't get the tempered glass gap under it in the center. and not a bad install if ya read the destructions lol. i bought a whitestone dome glass with my note 9 and its much better other then i wish it was really edge to edge. and when you install tempered glass push down the center lightly well holding the sides up the gap in the center of the glass stops the fingerprint from working. thanks for sharing

Yes you are correct but they have to have the correct cutouts for it to fit the phone first.
My tough armor Spigen case just messed up the factory one, I wonder if the Ringke one will stay safe or should I change the case ?
That's interesting because all of the cases I used never affected the factory protector, it was on there pretty solid. Keep in mind that when you put a new one on that the placement must be precise because if it's too far down or too far over to one edge a lot of the cases will push it back up again. Of all the plastic screen protectors that I've tried I liked the ringke one the best.
@@HighTechCheck yeah the thing I noticed about it is that the volume and power buttons are so tight, when you press them the protector moves millimeters and that's why it is affecting the factory screen protector

yeah when they need to have your finger nails to dig in in order to "peel" the adhesive protector off the paper that us a huge red flag there, potential to get finger print/grease on the adhesive side doing this...I order 2 different wet application screen protectors and failed miserably trying to apply them. I wound up return them and paying premium for the whitestone dome protector.

👍...You have demonstrated how convoluted the world of screen-protectors has become...Like you, I've installed hundreds over the years and can pretty much tell what the outcome will be while pulling the first tab...even to the point when you open the package and the protector only has one tab...don't wast your time...😛

Thanks for the vid. I have the Ringke S.P. on my OnePlus 7 Pro and it was easy to instal if you watch the videos and it looks great until. Until you ask, it is very easily scratched, Very. It looks like PET but feels like TPU however it does not have the scratch resistance of either. PET is hard flexible plastic and very hard to scratch. TPU is softer, rubbery and self healing. This is neither. I have full reviews on Amazon. Be aware if you buy that if you put in a pocket or purse with loose change, keys, or anything with an edge it will scratch and it is ugly. I was super excited at first and then my key rubbed it and that was the end of that. I have pictures and have contacted Ringke but they just confused me more and helped none. Be Aware.
Glass Sceen protectors do not work well on the phones with finger print readers in the screen, I have a note 10+ and I ditched the glass screen protector which was $40 btw and got an $8 iq sheild plastic screen protector which I highly recommend even thought the install is very weird. it sticks well to the edges if you know what your doing
you were trying to apply the layer you were supposed to throw away for the Otao screen protector.
The factory screen protector lasted me a whole yr, now i have trouble finding one, hopefully this vid helps!
Try LK , which is similar to the original one. I've tried spigen & all others, those feel rubbery. Didn't try ringke tho
Before the pre installed screen protectors, people where having their phones commit seppuku left and right. Lk brand protectors are good if you manage to figure out the instructions.

It is a soft screen protector, its more for scratches and maybe light falls.

I've bought a glass screen protector but haven't applied it because I'm quite sure that when I apply it, the ultra sonic fingerprint won't work. I've just kept the one that came with the device on. As you mentioned it works a treat.

If you got the Whitestone Dome Glass then it's a 50-50 chance. Mine doesn't work (I bought the 2 pack for myself & gf, installed in 2 different ways OLD & NEW instruction) won't register new fingerprints, tried turn on touch sensitive, moisture our fingers... It did works for some others though, mostly TH-camrs.
I have the White Stone, it's cool, the fingerprint works, but it's expensive and now it's starting to bubble after two weeks. Could just be my OtterBox case lifting the screen causing the bubble.
@@Skydwella42 I have it on my Note 8 (Now, my dad's) and no bubble or lifting whatsoever, also used Otterbox defense. I think the new generation dome glass just have shitty quality. S10 dome glass also much thinner than Note 8's
@@SteveL11 i have the whitestone for s10+ and it's working great. no issues and just when i thought it became less responsive, i get these quick triggered unlocks. It's got to do with pressure and speed. And if one read fails, consider that the sensor needs time to sort of re-initiate the process. I noticed that sometimes after a fail, i put my finger down while it's still 'resetting' and then i lift it while it's still scanning. So it never gets a decent read. Note that the fingerprint scanner isn't actually in the middle, it's a thin strip that's more to the left of the phone(EDIT this isn't true. it looks off center but is actually perfectly centered). Good luck working it out! I can't imagine faulty sensors to leave the factory and mine's working great, even with a Dome protector.
how's the front facing camera quality with the ringke?
Don't have any issues that I can tell, pretty clear picture. Just keep the part over the camera clean
Hi, I got the whitestone dome glass for my s10, and I don't recommend. 1- it's pricy, 2- after installing it, the peingerprint sensor works harder compared to no screen protector, and eventually it worsens, I had to move to face I'd unlock and don't use the fingerprint no more, that annoying it got. 3- if you break it, it will crumble from there. Mine was not dropped, but a flick from the cigaret landed in the bottom corner, and it cracked, now extending from there rapidly. I will move to the official samsung film.

@@ubesaaa Its not glass but a more of a film. Definitely will not protect if dropped on screen but it definitely protects from scratches but is more of a soft film.

@@jsobol12 I don't like film too much, it gives the phone a grippy texture when using it. The harder the material, the more smooth it feels, which is what I like way more. Of course, I can't know if that is the case, does the IQ one feel like glass or do you get that grippy feeling?

Yes, but be careful with the type of case you use because it can lift up an edge. I only used one protector. I might try it again. I should've just kept the preinstalled one on.

Depending on the case you use it may push up the protector, thats what happened in my case.
When I used a different case it didn't bother the edge but because it had already been pushed up some it wouldn't stay down anymore.
Just in the very top right corner, the rest of the protector stayed down this whole time.

Got the ringke and I messed up the first install but in comes w 2 and second went on good. It feels really nice and no bubbles a tiny one went out in an hour or 2. It feels almost like the original glass and hugs well w nothing coming up print reader is working great and response on screen is just like it was wo it on. I had a glass one on pixel 3xl and it sucked. Kept coming up w dust and was a nightmare cracked real fast. This seems great if it works fine for a min. Feels and works good till something better comes this and a skin is the way to go...
Do not remove the screen protector that is pre-installed on the phone. The third party screen protectors are terrible. I tried three different brands and they dont adhere to the edges...

I liked the Spigen TPU one for my S8. Had no edge issues and worked as intended
mine is peeling and has scratches all over it
The factory one is garbage. I had my phone for three days and it had a scratch on the film, just from being in my pocket! Did not drop the phone once and just from being inside my pocket it obtained a scratch. I took it off because it looked ugly.

I have tried like 5 different brands off Amazon and I cannot find NOT ONE that will not come up on the edges with a case. Who designs these to be without a case? What idiot goes around with a 1k+ phone and no case to protect it from falls.

It's not made to be used permanently, it's just a cheap film that will scratch quickly

Yea f that rubbery feel that's a game apps worst enemy. Especially when it comes to basketball stars that's my sh*t lol. It involves sliding up your finger so any type of grippyness is a no go.
On another note I've had whitestone dome glass on my s10 for a while its expensive about 40-50$ but I'm so glad I spent a little extra on it especially considering the cost to repair a broken screen. I've had it for a while now and need a new screen protector , I've been considering the Better Future brand screen protector because it looks like a generic brand that has the exact same setup as the whitestone screen protector. From the UV light ,adhesive glue ect and it's only 25$ half the price of the whitestone brand. Has anyone invested in the Better Future brand tempered glass from amazon and if so how does it compare to whitestone dome glass?
Caseco screen protectors bubble all over the sides. My favorite screen protector is the whitestone dome glass.

It's very sticky to use for my fingers
Try cleaning it a wipe... The factory one on my S10 is perfect... Smooth, non-rubbery and barely noticeable.

My S10 was sticky when I first turned it on too. I wiped it right away with an alcohol wipe and it's been smooth ever since (this is why I suggested doing so).

The PULEN Screen Protector does work you just installed it wrong. It does fit into your phone with no damaging to the charging port (cos I did it fine), you just didn't try hard enough and gave up to soon. But I will admit the instructions is unclear how to do so and what end to use of the "Install Tray".

You were supposed to use the squeegee to push down the sides and then the hard end of the squeegee to push the very tips of the screen protector up against the border of your phone so that it can't lift back up damn it I can't keep critiquing these videos read the instructions more than once
Go with White Stone Dome Glass. Best there is. Otherwise good video.
I have it. Fingerprint hardly works, which sucks. Also the glass appears to have cracked after only a week

Well let me tell you something, just dont..
Yeah its probably the best GLASS screen protector for the S10+ and yes it is the only one that works with the under display fingerprint sensor BUT!! Even though it does work, it doesn't work for over 60% of the time...
I had the whitestone dome glass on my s10 plus and gave it TWO weeks before i gave up on it, having my phone not recognizing my finger nearly 2/3 of the time is unacceptable.
I switched to the Ringke screen protector and let me tell you, its probably the second best screen protector for the S10+ right after the original samsung plastic screen protector (samsung sell them for 30$ each and that's prolly why)
My white screen dome cracked in two spots,on the first day, just being in my pocket

I watched marks tech video about the fingerprint scanner and white stone dome and my fingerprint worked alot better when i followed how he did his fingerprint
