It looked like light touches weren't registering. Regardless, a glass screen protector seems to slow down responsiveness. Stick with film for now...
@@photobriangray Nah not worth it if you drop it. The screen will smash and then its $300 to a repair. Better to have a tempered glass. Pretty sure whitestone offers free replacements too. It's worth the investment
@@owo7094 when u press to hard, ot flatens the finger print. In this case the scanner sends ultrasonic sound waves to the ridges of the finger.
I really want to see the difference between the battery life of S10 and S10+. Everyone is covering the S10+ and the regular S10 isn't getting much coverage. As i want to buy the S10, I really need to know how well the battery life stacks up against the S10+! Somebody help me out!

@@ayaan_sabir Lew from Unbox Therapy got the regular Galaxy S10. I think the specific version is sent by request, but nearly all reviewers are suckers for big displays so they ordered the plus variant.

ultrasound cannot penetrate air, it's too high frequency. This is why when getting an ultrasound they use gel. the white-stone works because they glue is close enough in hardness to the glass so it works, correct me if i'm wrong?
There is a difference between emptiness and air, ultrasound like the sound is a mechanical wave that can penetrate air with a speed of 340 m/s. but it can't penetrate emptiness wich represent the extra space, outside the ouzone layer ;)

What do you mean by penetrating air? Sounds are vibrations that travel through particles and there aren't particles in space except from nebulas and that is why there is no sound in space. :)
What if you increased touch sensitivity? I have a white stone dome glass on my note 9 - touch wasn't as responsive at first
It now comes turned on by default with pre installed screen protector.
I don't know why they had to go the screen scan route.. My S9+ was great with the scanner on the back.

I'd like my touch sensor to actually function (and even the high-and-mighty $60 Wihtestone Dome impedes it partially) and I'd also like a decent quality protector that doesn't have a massive hole in it that makes for a lovely dust trap and prevents the touchscreen from being used there. This is a loose-loose situation. Sorry but it's just not worth it just to have glass instead of plastic. If the plastic ones end up bothering me I'll just opt for none at all. Gorilla glass 6 and a good case will do just fine thank you.

calm down boys. The product is new, give it two or three months and many third parties will come up with screen protectors that work with an S10 phones. If there's a demand for it, there's a product for it. 🙌

Hi Brett, maybe you can make a video showing how to remove this screen protector to see if the glue will be hard to remove and if it will leave a sticky trace. I wanna be sure that i would not be a mess when changing to a new protector and before paying over $50.00

Great job. The S10 looks to be an awesome device and I'm happy people can get glass for it.
Kind of defeats the purpose of convenience if you have to buy special screen protectors. Especially in a country like India where most accessories never even make it to the market.. hopefully every other company will make similar screen protectors
I can confirm that S10 plus fingerprint sensor works also with the cheaper (10$) chinese UV cured (loca) tempered glass...like the one from NanoSonic and many other "copy" from asia. Yes they are not so good at oleophobic coatings and maybe not as strong as Whitestone but the fingerprint is working fine and it gives you some "tempered glass" protection.
On Android, fingerprint readers take longer to scan if you have multiple print profiles on the device, because it scans through all of them in sequential order looking for a match. It is much faster if you only have one.

Guys you cn use a normal tempered glass now it works I just tried one I bought from ebay re registered my fingerprint pressing really hrd nd it worked. Make sure you remove pre instaled screen protector first.
Big sales on the way for Whitestone Dome! This is a big issue for screen protector makers as I'm sure ultrasonic scanning will make its way to other brands in 2020. Excellent video. I suppose it's probably better to leave the Samsung one on as long as you can and it can be replaced for 30 dollars. But, you just cannot beat Whitestone Dome for protection and clarity.
Go to settings, advanced features then turn on "touch sensitivity" it says underneath it "increase the touch sensitivity of the screen for use with screen protectors" 😒
That wouldn't increase the fingerprint sensor sensitivity just the screen🤦♂️
Touch sensitivity has nothing to do with the fingerprint reader

You need to register again your fingerprint after you installed any kinds of screen protector. Basically because, the image of your fingerprint is bended or refracted by the new glass.

I got my S10plus, now i put my screen protector, the panzer glass, it's really a struggle to use the fingerprint with the glass screen protector.
I did what the video instructed to create a new one after putting the screen protector, i tell you, it's not easy, it needs too much pressure and more trials, it wont recognize the thumb and then after many trials i finally registered both thumb.
But the problem now is when i try to unlock the phone, it doesnt work well but sometimes it works after many trials which is a bad thing though because the S10plus is supposed to be fast as it is one of their flagship features.
I bought a whitestone screen protector for my S10 and i paid £39 i know sound a lot but i was thinking if i will smash my screen will cost me way much more than that.
Save you 5 minutes, cheap ones don't work.
If apple doesn't add the fingerprint sensor in 2 years, I'll gladly switch to Samsung.

I didn’t believe the note 9 and s10 had the same screen size until he put that screen protector on great video
I will be getting the screen protector that Samsung will pre install and if that comes off my S10+, because of the Curved edges, I will get the nano tech film like I have on my S8+ and Galaxy Watch. For the better part of almost a year, I went without a screen protector, just a case, because the screen protector kept popping off on my S8+.
It looks like the whitestone dome screenprotector is not protecting the front facing camera's, it looks a bit weird there too, does this disturb the notification circle around the cameras?
I just put my whitestone on my S10 plus and it Does Not work! I've been trying over and over again and it still gives me troubles.
Sell one kidney to buy the phone then sell a part of the liver to buy the screen protector!

@@ChequessB Eh, most of the stock glass shipped nowadays on the phone is VERY hard to scratch as it is. I work in harsh work environments and go without a screen protector and my screens don't get scratched up. You're just throwing away money at these side companies for no reason. If you watch the Jerry Rig Everything video it took a LOT to actually get scratches into the supplied screens on this new device

If you get the black web one for the s10 plus it works great and no problems and it's only 20 compared to the 50 for whitesome
HEY have you tried putting some adhesive to a regular glass protector where the fingerprint sensor would go.
I have not, it mostly wouldn't sit flush so it is not a long term solution.
This is the biggest problem now for Samsung!!! This is a timely video and Apple will be happy to see this video...

The preinstalled screen protector
isn't even bad. It feels really smooth but the only issue is that I feel safer with glass screen protectors but because of that I decided to use a case until my whitestone dome screen protector came in. Though, after a few days I've come to actually like using a case, it's the spigen ultra hybrid for the s10 plus, so I may continue to use a case after I get my screen protector because this one is so thin and unobtrusive, unlike most others I have used in the past.

The fingerprint went way better when we got the new FW and now we hear that there is a new FW RC that will come out before it hits the shops.

I've been using the Whitestone Dome on my S8 for the past 2 years and was looking to see if it would work on the S10. Looks like it sort of works, but still hesitates unlike the factory installed film protector.

Although it works with the glass but isn't the response time slow afterwards? The fingerprint isn't that responsive with whitestone dome aswell.

So far everything case I have tried works great except the Otterbox Defender. It immediately started to peel up the corners and I didn't even have the case all the way on.

How do you know when you add the fingerprint, that it is reading the finger and not the protector? Could use an addtitonal negative test with an unregistered finger or person.

Just use the one Samsung is including with purchase instead of paying for this companies expensive one.
The one Samsung is including isn't tempered glass.
White stone dome is supposedly the only one to work with it and it's pretty much the only one I used so no worries there. Besides, it doesn't really matter that much considering it comes with a protector installed and a case depending on your region. Samsung really topped themselves and expectations with this one ngl.
With gorilla glass six I never use a screen protector. I have used wallet cases for the last 6yrs. Were talking six individual models of the s series phones. Never a mark on any of the displays. Wallet cases definitely work for me!
Can you try putting sellotape on the screen to see if that works? I would myself but I a film screen protector on already and don't want to remove it.
So I purchased a whitestone dome glass for my s10+ and installed exactly as per their TH-cam instructions. Fingerprint scanner didn't work for me. Would hardly even register. Lot of money to waste to find that! Check out other reviews and you'll see I'm far from alone in this. Whitestone have a way to go on this one.

have you tried using a Liquid Nano screen protector? I have seen a notification with Samsung that does not recommend using the Nano Liquid since it prevents the Fingerprint Scanner and also the stylus for the Samsung Note 10.
