Jamal Murray's knee is literally hanging after that acl injury. I've experienced it. I can imagine the pain he's having at that moment. It's like your lower leg is disconnected to your upper leg. And the only one holding it is a nerve or two.
You still have all your tendons and other 3 ligaments connected… not just a nerve or two. But the inflammation / numbness after a ACL tear will surely have you feeling that way

I tore my acl recently and this is one of the worst pains you can get. Him denying a wheelchair is crazy to think about. It all goes back to his father building up his pain tolerance. So glad to see him winning a chip this year ❤

It’s really hard. Kawahi also had this injury. Both he and Murray missed some games in their comeback season due to knee soreness or other knee issues, and it took time for them to adapt and regain their best game.

Murray tore his acl and then proceeded to have one of the most legendary seasons ever in his comeback. His performances during the Western Conference finals and the NBA Finals were all amazing, and now he’s the NBA champion!
The 4 games he missed with a sore right knee was not related to the ACL (more commonly in left knees for right handed players). The season is over for Murray, and possibly most if not all of next season as well. Teams like the Clippers, Jazz, Suns and Blazers probably now have a better chance to go deep into the playoffs along with that yellow team from LA. These ACL and Achilles injuries have been really bad in recent years, players are over worked, they get tired and they make the wrong move and end up losing a season or two of their careers. Look at KD, he is back but still nowhere near his former self. It takes time and patience. I think the Achilles injury is worse though.
