It is very nice that PSB paid tribute to this great singer but Robin's voice is unique and inimitable.
Indeed, it's nice that the two bands were friends and inspired each others music.

I love both versions but my favourite is the Pet Shop Boys. I love how they put strings in and filled it out a bit more. Either way it's a beautiful song.

Both voices are beautiful and unique. Bee Gees’s is classic and no one can surpass it. Pet Shop Boy instills a new life in this song with the upbeat tempo. I enjoy both. One thing to note is that in this comparison, Pet Shop Boy is the live version, but Bee Gees is the recorded version. The recorded version of Pet Shop Boy will sound much better.
Robin sang it live, just as well. Recorded or live, Robin exhibits brilliance.

Live version by Robin ( bee Gees) I like much better. This was ok as far as a cover goes. No one has the haunting voice that Robin did.
Sounds better than I thought it would. A little too upbeat and fast paced for me, but Neil sings it very well. Of course the original can't be beat.
The original is great but Mike Patton's version with Faith No More is great. Patton has one of the better voices in rock and roll. l

Why would you even put up a comparison? The ORIGINAL will Always be better than the Cover. UNLESS, unless people have not Heard the original, then whatever Version THEY hear will be better. This has happened over and over with each generation hearing Cover songs and then hearing the Original. They think/feel the Cover is Better. Only in a few rare instances do people like the Original more. For me, I Heard Robin's version First, so no one will compare, even If I LIKE the PSB. THAT being said. I am also able to APPRECIATE other versions of a song in most instances. There have been a few I did not like the cover. PSB put their OWN style to the song, while still keeping the Inspiration of Robin in their version.
