    "I dress modestly, ....for myself."
THANK YOU. I'm so tired of all of the 'modesty is for men' thing that a lot of people have switched to.
Edit: After watching the video I definitely plan to get a couple of these. I hope the links below are affiliate links. You got so excited for the angel sleeved blue dress, your entire face lit up! I would size up to a large and look into fitting a modesty panel for the slit in the back. That kind of joy in a dress doesn't come often.

I think that any fashion choice or cosmetic thing should be done for oneself! Never do either of those things for anyone else. For example I love going crazy with makeup once in a while bc I think it’s fun! I don’t do it for anyone but myself. I also dress for myself. If I want to dress up and be girly I do it for me or If I want to dress like a tomboy or be super comfy and wear sweats, I always do it for myself!

I dress as if I'll be seeing Jesus, I only want His approval. I don't technically dress for men. However, I don't want to cause any stumbling either.

@@jesusisthewaythetruthandth9303 yep but we don't need those "modern women are just trying to make men stumble" preachers ruining modesty either. If your eyes cause you to sin...
(I'm saying this as someone who also dresses modestly for mostly the same reasons)

I want that red dress for my husbands work parties at Christmas time. I always end up tossing on a sweater that changes the dresses I have too much and I don't love that. WHY, don't companies know people are COLD in the winter? Also, those who are overweight can have a hard time finding non-frumpy dresses that don't show off their arms and chest. Even high necked dresses can show cleavage if your curvy. These dresses look great on you but would also look amazing on a very curvy build. Straight down no waste dresses would look better if a person carried all their weight in the belly or had no curves AT ALL but if weight is spread out or your pear or hourglass (have a waist to work with) these are great options.

Absolutely! The most stunning and flattering. Top 3 votes for Holiday Fare:
      1) dark shift with butterfly wings for NY Eve,
      2) red scalloped Xmas/family photo dress
      3) everyday green floral for Thanksgiving comfort and ease
Mix up any with a solid colored sash, poncho, scarf, sweater, cape, shawl, or boots. Black or cream skirt extenders would be great investment, too! Thanks! ❤️

Woohooo modesty!!! I feel like my style has slowly been becoming more modest over time. I'm christian as well, and it's important to me to cover myself so that people see me as a person and not for my body. I never want to draw attention to certain body parts for the wrong reason. Right now the way I'm dressing modestly is wearing long shirts/tunics/dresses anytime I wear leggings. I'm trying to move more towards wearing more skirts and dresses over pants now too, more for the femininity factor! I love your channel. I love seeing how diverse modesty can be, as we all interpret it differently. I am hoping to learn more from your channel about sewing so I can modify the clothes I have now instead of wearing 5,000 layers to make a skimpy dress look modest!!

You just made me laugh so hard! No one wakes up and says I am going to join a cult someday but hopefully even those who came from cults are healed enough to laugh and laugh hard. : ) Truly, prayers for those who got stuck in that or other twits that are soooo close to the truth but actually the teachings of demons. That man's god is not the real God. Remember, even if everyone you know tells you your wrong trust the Bible IN CONTEXT and find confidence in the commentary free world of God that dispels all false teachings. If you need guidance ask for it to come from the Holy Spirit of God. May you find the Spirits convictions (not guilt, "there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus") and peace

    • @SRose-vp6ew
      @SRose-vp6ew 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@barbibradbury It may be helpful if you give people a little context to your concerns on looking Mormon as a true Christ follower. Brigham Young said some anti-Christ things in Journal of Discourses, for example, Vol 1 Page, 50. The Bible also says in Psalms "from everlasting to everlasting" and God calls himself "Alpha and Omega (beginning and end) but Joseph Smith is anti-God in Journal of Discourses, Vol 6 Page 6. Mormons often think they are Christian but they are taught a very different Christ. They are also fantastic people. The Devil doesn't always look like pure evil, he often tries to sprinkle just enough truth on things to make people seeking truth almost find it but miss the mark. When the truth stirs their heart they a faced with a need for faith that involves rejection of what they were lovingly taught by those with good intentions. As someone never taught salvation distracting lies it all might sound very strange that people would fall for it but if your kept too busy learning rules that truly do bless you and you see how other supposed Christ followers don't look much different from others you might believe you are saved when really you only know how to look really clean on the outside. Also remember even the Christian terms we all use are redefined into something that means something very different. This is part of why it is called a cult. "Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside, but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and every impurity...Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous.... you snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape the sentence of hell?"- Jesus. Basically, those who twist scripture, no matter how good they make it sound, are still going to hell when they reject the pure and unadulterated truth. Test scripture with scriptures and ask God to help you turn off any false commentary you have been taught.

I wear leggings or thermal underwear hidden under ankle length skirt or dress. My layers are worn tightly. I have what I call my 'base' layer and then sometimes an extra layer on top of that depending on temperature. My base layer is a tank top and then leggings or the thermal pants and or leggings and thermal shirt and then I will add another layer under my dress if I have to. It can be extremely cold where I am.

As for foot wear my children wear nice boots. We just get black. Last year they chose tan. I wear either my sneakers or if need be my snow boots... 😂
We have a tendency to be pretty minimal in our wardrobes though.

I have been a Protestant Christian for something like 16 years now, and I was raised by Christian parents. We used to only wear skirts or culottes for a long time when I was younger and my parents convictions about modesty shifted slightly so that we (the girls) were allowed to wear pants. I remember being excited for pockets! I usually wear pants, but I am picky about how tight, what style, that sort of thing. I love dresses and I love sewing, and as a fellow mom, who dresses modestly and wants to be able to look cute, and maybe slightly fashionable I am loving your channel already!

Currently, I pair dresses with leggings (I, too, only wear below the knee dresses/skirts) and I'm at a loss for shoes. I like ankle boots, but I think they look awkward on me and a fashion tennis doesn't always work either. Thank you, Megan. 😘

I like the bell sleeve dress! You could stitch a panel of fabric (maybe like a coordinating pattern, or navy but with sparkles or something) into the slit in the back. If you use a diamond shape or a wider triangle, it will flutter cutely and also giveou a good range of motion to crouch down and grab kids.

I really liked the Navy Bell Sleeve Dress style on you. Perhaps a different pattern or no pattern at all, but style seems to be truly modest - not too fitted and not too lose, and still very pretty looking without being baggy. The Scalloped Red Dress style and color look very flattering on you, if a similar type can be found with hemmed trim. Solid color fabrics seem to suit you the best. I am the same way. I would see a beautiful floral print and put it on and it looks nothing like I imagined it. Then my friend would put it on and the floral pattern would look gorgeous on her. I don't know why it happens that way, but we all have a specific style that suits each of us uniquely best. Thank you for a beautiful haul. I am also a very modest dresser and love modest dresses, skirts and tops. Blessings!

    Personal reasons to dress modestly:
-prevent my fellow brothers in Christ from stumbling through feelings of lust or sexual temptations
-prevent my fellow sisters in Christ from stumbling through feelings of comparing body types or style/wealth

I’ve been wearing skirts and dresses for 5 years now. I always make sure I have shoes that go with my skirts & dresses. For summer it’s easy...sandals with everything looks great. Spring time moccasins look good with skirts. For Fall & winter I wear booties and boots. It’s all about getting use to it. When we make changes it would always be a challenge but when you feel convicted you make it work some how. God would help you go through it. 🙋🏻‍♀️

Wearing fleece lined leggings or thick tights underneath with a tall boot always works well for me! I'll also add a sweater if needed. I live in a snowy/cold area and feel warmer in dresses and skirts than I did in jeans :)

I only wear dresses and skirts. In the winter, I wear my skirts mid calf or longer. If I am concerned about cold, I wear long underwear, which are very comfy, and then pull on knee socks to go over them. I usually have them bunched up a bit. It works, and I find them much more comfortable than wearing tights. I have also made myself a few, elastic waist underskirts out of flannelette that I wear as a slip. It adds a definite amount of coziness and warm.

I hope this doesn't sound weird but I think you are so beautiful! Being a reformed Christian, I often lament the culture's focus on vanity and constantly seek humility for myself in that area. But I just can't get over the simplicity and grace you exemplify by being modest. Anyways, I just appreciate seeing that :)
