I understand putting acotar in mid, id put it there too. however when you give a chance to the second book, a court of mist and fury, everything in a court of thorns and roses makes sense and acomaf will always have a soft spot in my heart
The Cruel Prince has become one of my favorite books I loved it so much even though I thought I wouldn´t like it at first cause of all the faerie stuff, but the story is so so good as well as the world-building. So happy to see it being acknowledged for how awesome it is.
i've wanted to see a cruel prince adaptation ever since i first read the books (which. granted. wasn't that long ago) but the thought of guillermo del toro directing it hadn't even crossed my mind until now!! EXCELLENT idea; 10/10. tbh i kinda want a cruel prince adaptation to be animated--by cartoon saloon specifically (the studio who made wolfwalkers, song of the sea, etc). granted, their movies tend to be kids' movies, but i would LOVE to see their take on a darker fae story (and they do have a darker movie called the breadwinner)! like seriously, a cartoon saloon rendition of elfhame would be GORGEOUS. not to mention, the underwater scenes in song of the sea would make me VERY eager to see their take on certain scenes in the wicked king. anyway, that's just my two cents on a hypothetical folk of the air adaptation! great video; some of these books i'd love to check out!
Okay We Were Liars BLEW MY MIND WHEN I WAS 14-15 FOR THE SAME REASON. It was truly earth shattering in the book, but also the unreliable narrator trope made me start second guessing every book after! I had never nailed down why that book was semi impactful for me until now.
Acotar is a book (and series) that while I enjoyed it I can understand all opinion on it. I understand if you liked it, hated it, or thought it was just meh. The fanart though, it's gorgeous Idc what anyone says.
I think you really need to read the whole series to appreciate ACOTAR. Especially the way the characters grow, it’s not meant to be a one off book. It is probably my favorite book series ever lol I do think that her dislike of it is just due to how she likes fae characters or characters written in general which is perfectly fine
i've had the cruel prince in my to read list for probably years its just currently being roadblocked by a massive political danmei novel i've been reading for 3 months but if anything this tier list has just made me even more excited to finally start it
...I don't think you realize how happy I am that Leo loved the cruel prince as much as I did...also I have never agreed more to someone say a book NEEDS a show adaptation than I have with this book.
I LOVED the cruel prince so I'm so happy to see it in a high tier. It's a true enemies-to-lovers story (cardan and jude HATE each other at the start, it's so good), has a major focus on the politics of the fae, AND has a badass female protag while acknowledging that physical strength isn't the only way to stay strong and that actually it's not healthy to cope by killing people. I immediately went and bought both sequels after I finished it. Rewired my brain
throne of glass have a very badass female character.Look, I read cruel prince first and was obsessed with jude. But then I read throne of glass and aelin (the fmc or throne of glass) stole my heart and since then no other fmc could top her.She is a very complex fmc.She is a badass who could kill people with bare hands and have deadly fire powers but she also loves to wear dresses and jewelries, dance at balls, loves chocolates, reading books, playing music, and cry while listening to music and oh she just have so much personality and her duality is admirable. The way she is a badass warrior but at the same time has lots of feminine qualities is something rare in books
Throne of glass is also very diverse since its high fantasy. We have deadly witches that rides wyverns, we have deadly shapeshifters, we have assassins, fae and humans with magic.even healers play a huge role in this series. This series have lots of badass and strong characters and their teamwork and friendship is so endearing. Some of them are strong physically, some are strong with powers and some have no powers or strength at all but they contributes to the war with their intelligent and whatever support they could provide. This series is very dear to me because it shows that everyone contributes to something in the war.The war in this book is very emotional too😢
Throne of glass has a very great enemies to lovers too (aelin and rowan). They hated each other at first.aelin said real nasty thing to rowan and then rowan punched her in the face. They were both forced to train with each other and during the training, rowan goes really hard on her and they always fought till they are both bloodied. They really hated each other to say the least😂.The thing is, they were both at their lowest at the time. They were drowning in their trauma and loss, and both are just too broken inside. But given the forced proximity, their relationship grew and they both HELPED EACH OTHER TO HEAL AND WALKED OUT FROM THE DARKNESS TOGETHER.thats why aelin and rowan is top tier to me because they are enemies to lovers with depth and actual growth + they healed each other. Not the typical enemies turned to lovers purely because of lust+attraction+obsession
I've read about half of Normal People and I just couldn't stand it anymore. I'm not a fan of how she doesn't use quotation marks so you have to double check if it actual dialogue. I understand that both characters aren't meant to be perfect but their lack of communication drove me nuts. I know that's how people are but it's infuriating to read. I also just wasn't invested. I got bored reading about their lives when they weren't together. I ended up not caring about the outcome of the story so I did not finish it
my brain short circuited and literally cannot comprehend Beach Read (the love of my life) and It Happened One Summer (one of the first books I ever wanted to rate one star) in the same category lmaooo send help!!!
Please, read Robin Hobb's books! They are amazing! Characters are multidimensional, and the main character is not the lovely classic heroe, but it has many virtudes and vices
The Cruel Prince was the first ever book that I've read because of TikTok and I absolutely loved it. It's so great to finally find a person who loves this book as much as I do, bc every single book blogger I follow on social media hates it.
I have just gotten back into reading at 21 years old as I have finally found where my attention span was hiding from me and your channel is absolutely my favorite. I love how you talk ab books and I agree with so many of your takes. It’s awesome to have found a booktuber that has similar tastes to me and is funny and puts out great content AND has a soothing voice/mannerisms
That throne of glass and acotar swap was interesting to me because while I greatly enjoyed my hate read of acotar it absolutely was a hate read. Throne of glass was just a fun "I know I am reading YA can't take this too seriously (except I hate you chaol)" sort of read. I think with throne of glass Sarah j Maas was still trying to be a fantasy author but by the time she started acotar she was just like "you guys are gonna buy any faerie smut I spew out"
I started reading ACOTAR last month out of morbid curiosity despite knowing I would hate I. I was right, I hated it, but in a "can't put this down" kind of way. Throne of Glass however seems so insanely generic to me that you could never convince me to read it. At least ACOTAR is hate-readable.
@@Apocalyptichist ah then I think we have a different definitions of brainless, because the way Sarah connects all the books and characters in tog was, in my opinion, brilliant. There were a lot of details she put into her books that you only get when you read close enough, things that seem one way but turn out to be something else. And also I thought tog was an extremely powerful story because of Aelin. The character arc she goes through in all the books is just brilliant. I have never connected with a main character as much as I connected with her, mainly because she's so well written over the span of the 8 books. I truly cannot, for the life of me, see how throne of glass would be brainless.
I've been avoiding The Cruel Prince so far, used to think it's something Sara J Maas-ish (haven't read her, gonna keep it that way), but the way you speak of it makes me reconsider. Also, the S&B series mercilessly butchered the SoC plotline and characters, and I still ate that up. That's what a good casting can do.
@@EleiyaUmei well, I watched it all and enjoyed what I could, but your decision is totally valid. The way the writers treat the SoC story makes me want to throw things sometimes.
@@justwonder1404 Thanks! Your decision to keep watching is also valid because seeing the crows in live-action is great. Yeah, it was like, instead of improving the original story of S&B, they used the crows to distract from S&B's weaknesses and baited us SoC fans by referencing or adapting scenes from the books while forgetting why many people like the duology in the first place: build-up and slow burn. (I'm no Wesper fan but I enjoyed their development in the books and was so angry at how the show treated them.) They just threw scenes at us in hope of us overlooking their lazy writing -.- What's worst is that the casting is so effing perfect T__T
For people who haven't watched ancient magus bride... It's not about the monster falling in love with the girl. Rather it's about him discovering new emotions and feelings he never knew. People often misjudge by looking at the poster but he calls her his bride because in his mind his understanding of a bride is a female who lives with a man and the man cares for the female. In the manga it's clarified that he didn't love her in a romantic way (yet) cause he himself doesn't know what it is. It's also about the girl overcoming her trauma and forgiving people. They both learn from each other. It's really a heartwarming and beautiful anime tbh. I would recommend it because it feels like watching a journey of two people who learn from each other and accept eachother with their flaws.
I second that. Please don’t judge manga and anime by their weird titles. Ancient Magus’ is absolutely not some kind of smut or weird monster f*ckery title on any level.
I Share with You love to the Six of Crows ❤❤❤ and the show has the best cast I have ever seen in any series, like they take characters out of my head. And Great video, You are only reason that I sometimes want to download tiktok😅

I adore These Violent Delights by Micah Nemerever, I read it a little while before you, I think I saw one person haul it on youtube which got me intrigued and I read it soon after, but they never ended up reading it, think they unhauled it, so although I found it through youtube I didn't actually follow anyone who'd read it, so when you read and loved it I was so happy to finally see someone talking about it and now I've seen a few others here and there pick it up
my guilty pleasure is the throne of glass series. i definitely think it gets stronger as the series goes, but it is 100% exactly what people expect it to be. but it’s fun! 😂
I think if they made throne of glass or court of roses tv series the fae would look awesome on the tv and I would whatch them straight away because of the books
It's funny that Normal People is so insanely popular but no one who has read the book would say it's overrated because sally rooney is just so fantastic. I don't usually read mainstream literature but this is a massive exception
It is overrated, I liked conversations with friends better because it sparks more thoughts on me, but it's still overrated, but hey, whatever gets people into reading it's great to me
I found it so terrible it's very unlikely I'll ever pick up another book by Sally Rooney in my life. I hated the ridiculous link she drew between childhood abuse and being masochistic/sexually submissive, I hated how flat and unbelievable the characters were, I hated the writing style, I hated how it's all about drinking coffee, drinking wine, hanging out with people you don't like, having sex, being pretentious and doing nothing with your life while being slighty miserable but mostly apathetic. It was all tell don't show. It was not smart. There was no emotion or wisdom. I do not understand why people like it.
Oh my gosh, you have no idea how much I relate with you when you put "Six of crows" on the top! Kaz and Inej own my entire soul. I mean, Kaz Brekker? Inej? I am so hopelessly obsessed with them, it’s not even funny. Like, I think about them every single day, and the pain of not living in Ketterdam is real! I’ve binged Shadow and Bone solely for glimpses of my Crows and squealed like a maniac every time they appeared. I live off of fan edits, I read the book quotes over and over again, and I’m constantly looking for someone, anyone, to just gush about them with me. I don’t think my life will ever be the same after I read Six of Crows. Like, I’ve never been this obsessed with fictional characters before. The bar is set so high, I’m afraid I’ll never recover. Someone, please, just sit me down and talk about Crows, my Jesper, my sharpshooter!
I personally LOVEEEEEEE love hypothesise but that could also be bec I read it just after it ends with us so it was like an emotional support and light heart romance so ya but it’s personally very close to my heart!
I particularly didn't agree with your book reviews but I know people have different tastes but you freaking won me over merely by Six of Crows. Oh how I'm obsessed with that book and love Kaz Brekker.❤

Resist Me by Lauren Connoly is a grumpy-sunshine story, but SHE is the grumpy badass self-defense trainer with a shady past, and HE is the sunshine, dog-loving POC character, and I loved it. Totally recommend it.
The cruel Prince and also the entire folk of air series is my favorite ❤️ I need an adaption
Omg Leonie posted again! I hundred percent agree on your opinions. I also guessed correctly the ranking of the final 3 books because when I joined booktok ACOTAR was blowing up everywhere so I knew that people won't let it slide. (This is also my first comment ever) but I really love your videos and your content! Subscribed and patiently waiting for the next video :)
When you put ‘cruell prince’ at the top I knew for sure that your recommendations are perfect for my taste in books! Thank you so much😊 Groetjes!!!
I understand putting acotar in mid, id put it there too. however when you give a chance to the second book, a court of mist and fury, everything in a court of thorns and roses makes sense and acomaf will always have a soft spot in my heart
every single time you recommend these violent delights by micah my heart flutters cause it's one of the most amazing things I've ever read 😍😭
I WATCHED THIS YESTERDAY AND FORGOT TO SAY QUE TU ACENTO ES MUY BUENO 🎉🎉 se ve que estas trabajando duro con el español, Leonie, échale ganas mami 🫶
The Cruel Prince has become one of my favorite books I loved it so much even though I thought I wouldn´t like it at first cause of all the faerie stuff, but the story is so so good as well as the world-building. So happy to see it being acknowledged for how awesome it is.
Dying inside bc I love Throne of Glass but I hated The Cruel Prince 💀 I'm definitely going to read the other recommendations tho!!!
Okay girl
You've got me into the folk of air series
AND. GODDAMM. THIS. IS. MY. NEW. FAV. BOOK.
The cruel prince is so good and I’m so happy you agree with that
seeing these violent delights & cruel prince so high makes me so happy i loved it so much
You should read Icebreaker. It's grumpy x sunshine but the GIRL is actually grumpy and the boy are sunshine
I also felt like such a hater for not loving Legends and Lattes…but I actually LOVED Addie Larue. I even bought a fancy copy of it!
No way I also read We Were Liars when I was 17, I read it when it was already spoiled for me but I loved her style of writing
i've wanted to see a cruel prince adaptation ever since i first read the books (which. granted. wasn't that long ago) but the thought of guillermo del toro directing it hadn't even crossed my mind until now!!
Absolutely love your ratings and recommendations!
I cannot emphasize how much I enjoy watching you breakdown books! I live for your commentary style and humour 🤭😍
love that Sally Rooney gets that many views! (Beautiful World, Where Are You? is my fave too Leonie)
I do not read books at all, but I just love the way you talk about books and it keeps me coming back to this channel
Do you have a video where you go through your own books and count how many you have read? If not I would love to see one!
i've had the cruel prince in my to read list for probably years its just currently being roadblocked by a massive political danmei novel i've been reading for 3 months but if anything this tier list has just made me even more excited to finally start it
Tamlin being gorgeous and beautiful is the least of acotar’s problems
I read the trilogy and it was engaging tbh but not a really good fantasy
Can you recommend some good fantasy books? I'm desperately searching for them
...I don't think you realize how happy I am that Leo loved the cruel prince as much as I did...also I have never agreed more to someone say a book NEEDS a show adaptation than I have with this book.
Could not say better!
It took me forever to actually get to the cruel prince. Mostly due to that my order kept getting cancelled rip
I recently read it and I get it.
I ended up not caring about the outcome of the story so I did not finish it
Ugly Love was also my first and last CoHo book, it left such a bad taste in my mouth and I wish I could erase it from my brain 🥲
me too
okay, if you enjoyed the secret history PLEASE i am BEGGING YOU read the goldfinch by tartt. you won’t regret it.
my brain short circuited and literally cannot comprehend Beach Read (the love of my life) and It Happened One Summer (one of the first books I ever wanted to rate one star) in the same category lmaooo send help!!!
Please, read Robin Hobb's books! They are amazing! Characters are multidimensional, and the main character is not the lovely classic heroe, but it has many virtudes and vices
I loved the cruel prince series - hopefully the next duoligy is good
I read the stolen heir and loved it!
The queen of shadows was such a satisfying book for me. A lot of interesting plot twists, action and very adequate slow burn romantic relationships!
ACOTAR not being #1 with 6.9 billion views is a missed opportunity
i am from peru and it has made me so happy u are learning spanish :) also you have to read peruvian literature it is amazing
Its my first time watching this channel. Safe to say i was surprised when my immortal was mentioned-
do u have a specific place that u get ur clothes from?? i really look forward to see ur fits every vid, i mean ur style is genuinely so cool 😭
@@flippanties Sometimes I want to read something that doesn't require using my brain. Throne of Glass is perfect for that
@@Apocalyptichist lmao you're gonna have a tough time understanding the series when you get to book 3 then buddy, good luck
@@lisaw.8382 I have read everything released in both acotar and throne of glass lol. both are pretty brainless imo, I just really hate acotar.
100% agree with S&B butchering the SoC plotline and characters! I, on the other hand, stopped watching after the 5th episode of the 2nd season.
(I'm no Wesper fan but I enjoyed their development in the books and was so angry at how the show treated them.) They just threw scenes at us in hope of us overlooking their lazy writing -.-
What's worst is that the casting is so effing perfect T__T
Ancient Magus’ is absolutely not some kind of smut or weird monster f*ckery title on any level.
almost finished six of crows duology and it’s so sad but nice to see it end. one of my favs
I’m a native Spanish speaker and you sounded better speaking Spanish than me!! 😅 Your R roll was *chef’s kiss* 😊
Babel has so many views I LOVE IT. this book is one of the very few i think about DAILY. One of my favs
I was literally just about to type up “reviewing booktok books” but you posted this 4 hrs ago! Omg you posted just at the right time!!
I Share with You love to the Six of Crows ❤❤❤ and the show has the best cast I have ever seen in any series, like they take characters out of my head. And Great video, You are only reason that I sometimes want to download tiktok😅
Gotta thank you for the videos, such a cool corner of youtube you created here. Your reviews and comments are not only fun and entertaining like nothing around, but I also find it very reliable to gather some precious information and to know better what the target audience for my book under editing process is expecting nowadays. Hope you keep on with these cool views on the market and the BookTok trend (which I find pretty interesting and will surely use as marketing tool even not using the platform yet). Cheers from Brazil.
I think if they made throne of glass or court of roses tv series the fae would look awesome on the tv and I would whatch them straight away because of the books
court of roses tv series is coming to Hulu.
It's funny that Normal People is so insanely popular but no one who has read the book would say it's overrated because sally rooney is just so fantastic. I don't usually read mainstream literature but this is a massive exception
It's terribly overrated.
It is overrated, I liked conversations with friends better because it sparks more thoughts on me, but it's still overrated, but hey, whatever gets people into reading it's great to me
I absolutely truly hated it haha :-( even though expecting it would be good
I found it so terrible it's very unlikely I'll ever pick up another book by Sally Rooney in my life.
I read it and it's one of the worst books I've ever read so it's highly overrated i don't get the hype
I NEED THAT SIX OF CROWS SPINOFF SO MUCH... I'm in pain because i fell into my crows area again bcs of the show 😭
Oh my gosh, you have no idea how much I relate with you when you put "Six of crows" on the top!
I love how even tentacle entanglement is higher on the list than gothikana and I 100% agree with that decision
I particularly didn't agree with your book reviews but I know people have different tastes but you freaking won me over merely by Six of Crows. Oh how I'm obsessed with that book and love Kaz Brekker.❤
