My 60 reg 1.2L i20 is fantastic. Good to drive and practical. Average mileage in a mostly urban scenario east of London is 45.8 mpg. For a supermini of big proportions inside, this is good. The only criticism I have is the interior plastics that tend to scratch easily and the Stereo could be a bit more powerful. This is my 3rd Hyundai. I think I will stick with them as I think they offer the best value and quality for the money you want to pay for a new, pre reg or 3 year old or less car.
Dad had one of these as a hire car for the weekend. Lots of room inside, though I wouldn't have had any leg room behind him at all (I'm 6'1", he's 6'3"). I quite liked it, and it was surprisingly comfortable too, but at 70mph you're doing over 3000 revs in 5th.
Everybody needs to stop saying Hyundai and Kia are cheap...few years ago, yes, slightly cheaper but now, certainly not. Same prices with the Fiesta, Golf etc.
In 2020, i have this car, i20 Spotz ABS (2013 ). Nd i have some extra features in my car which are not included in new 2020 i20. I'm happy with this car.
I bought this car 3 months ago and it is fantastic. I tested the Mitsubhishi colt before i bought the i20 and the diffrence from the quality is huge for the same price ! The only thing that i miss are the tuning parts for the hyundai ... greetz
I respect Mat, but this is yet another time he is harsh on the car. The lack of side support on the seat was a valid complaint. But, he often seems unaware that we CAN'T HAVE IT ALL. We can't have compact fuel economy, sports handling, luxury comfort, and estate car space. And we can't have an affordable price that doesn't reflect it somehow.
I currently have one as a rental while my lancer is in getting some repairs ( guy in a Landrover hit the back of me at traffic lights) and must say I'm quite impressed

@iTravelHD I saw a Renault with a full electrical problem failure.....So whats your point....Dont you know about the inherent problems on the series production? A problem with the door, well, thats nothing that cant be resolved, and BTW, THERE IS A WARRANTY.
Why?...Don't you mention 'Transmission options'...? it seems there are only a couple of cars to choose from after looking at the whole load of reviews!....d;-/
guys i have a question,i'm thinking of buying this car,but i need to know sth first!when you get at speed of 120km/h...is it staying stable on the road or it makes you feel uncomfortable?plus...does it get noisy at that speed?please somene answer me that.....thanks :)
its a great car, i have the i20 2009 diesel 1.4L engine version, and it handle brilliantly at high speeds, any thing up to 100mpg and it is still sound smooth and very good and fuel consumption, i can do 150 miles on a quarter tank or diesel, about 10£ worth. very economical and at 83000 miles its still running very smoothly
I own this car and have drove it @160km/hr on freeways. Car stays stable till 110km/hrs although 120 is not a big deal however on slight bumps car might jump due to lightly set suspension.
@ghrpdx compared my other car which is a Suzuki, yes the I20 is not as good as the other one. Let it be the built quality, features and many more. But I'm not concerned about all that right now. What surprises me is, how cant they even do a simple paint job properly and they are so arrogant towards a customer who brings the vehicle frequently for whatever reason it might be and pays them a lot. we cant just drive a car if we don't get a good service. without proper service, it is a trash can
Pardon me, why does it mention that you need to opt for higher spec for A/C. Doesnt all car come with A/C? i dont mean at this I20, but some other car like nissan note. can anyone enlighten me?
@rachitjainn A review is not needed. The x6 is the worst car (worse than the z3) that bmw has produced. Doesn't act like an suv (x5) or a coupe (1/3/6/m3/6).
i20 and i10 has plastic chassis ..single touch on road with stone or car from front can break that chassis and you have to pay 12000 rupees for re installation ..really i'm fedup and stuck to buy this car.
I bought one today. A 2011 top spec brilliant car, can’t wait to put some miles on it!
After 8 years looking forward to buy this one

I’m gonna get one,the insurance is ridiculously cheap and a boot big enough for my massive subwoofer 😂

For a first car I gotta say it looks great!! Looking to buy my first in around October and your reviews are brilliant and very helpfull :) thank you

Adam Hansen opt for the 6 speed manual. 2,300 revs
I can't wait to buy this car probably few years time. For many this isn't a dream but this car is fabulous all around.

woolf67 hi, is it from 2010? Any problems?

It's a sensible . Fun . But reliable . Great car
I bought one it’s very good and I service my own car and the 1.2 petrol is easy to service and everything is good to get at.

This is the car I drive but the way he describes is makes it sound so much better than it is in my experience. Honestly I hate it but I’m also 6’4
Matt can you explain how's the I20 related to the Porsche 911 of the same era, lmao.
I respect Mat, but this is yet another time he is harsh on the car. The lack of side support on the seat was a valid complaint.

To be fair, it's a car review. The point of these is to help buyers compare against other cars, so bad points need to be taken into account as well :)
Adam Hansen That's true I suppose. There are just times I think Mat is harsh.
I currently have one as a rental while my lancer is in getting some repairs ( guy in a Landrover hit the back of me at traffic lights) and must say I'm quite impressed
The big advantage in this small car is the rear seats completely fold flat.
