Also 3 cup wins, 5 total finals, also disrespected at times, also should be in the hall of fame, also played amazing when he left his original team (Osgood had winning records with St Louis and the Islanders and proved he wasn't just succeeding cause of Detroit) and holy shit, Draper,,, 1 of the 'Fab 5' you could call them with Maltby Holmstrom Lidstrom and McCarty, the only 5 guys to be on all 4 of those cup winning teams... yeah Detroit can forever say THANKS WINNIPEG

      @@scooterelway9191 The whole point of a ring light is to give a 360degree light source on the face. It essentially works like IRL airbrushing and makes practically everyone look amazing. It does require the light to be close up right behind the camera to actually do that though. If you can't have it there (cause of glasses, etc.). It really is better to just get another lighting solution. Because a ring light only works under those specific circumstances. Used any other way it's just a massively overpriced floor lamp, and about as useful for studio lighting as one, too. The other solution is to always look slightly off camera. But since Rob's style is to always have eye contact, that's not applicable here. Hope it's still refundable, I guess? Or just always record without glasses. That's what a lot of ASMRtists who normally wear glasses do. Cause they love their ring lights more than their ability to actually see things. Rob Hockey/Dog ASMR channel coming when?

    I had to look up the Kris Draper trade. Was REALLY curious who the Jets kept on the team that their GM thought made Draper expendable. The Centremen the Jets kept are: Alexei Zhamnov, Luciano Borsato, Stu Barnes (38 games), Ed Olczyk (#2C, 25 games, then traded to NYR), and Troy Murray (29 games, then traded to Chicago). So you're telling me Borsato and Murray were worth keeping over Draper? Mind blowing 😕

      @@Actionronnie Correct, Draper was below the 4th line at the time.
      Well, for 1992-93, the 4th line centre was Mike Eagles.

      However, Draper was traded just after this season.

    @Swoop187OG187 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm shocked that some fans are shocked that players have been sold for a dollar.. I mean I thought everyone knew about the Kris Draper trade... Look, Winnipeg literally gave Draper to the Wings for free, and I doubt Winnipeg ever received that dollar... The thing is for a legal contract to be transferred (regardless of the asset) it has to be sold for a dollar or more to make it a "legal sale" - presumably for tax reasons. So yea, it was a dollar "on paper" but I doubt there was an actual dollar exchanged. I'm sure it was something like "we'll get together next week and you can buy me lunch" type deals..
    Now as to why Draper was "sold" for a buck??... I would presume Winnipeg was at their roster limit of 50 contracts and they wanted to sign a guy so they had to get rid of a contract to make that happen, so they just gave Draper to Detroit for "free".. Of course for all I know Draper was lost as a bet in a card game -- yes, that has happened -- players have been won and lost via GM's and owners gambling..
    Look, players have been traded/sold for much weirder things than a dollar.... Back in the 60's or 70's (I forgot) a player (I forgot) was traded for a Zamboni and a Net... So yea, I'm sure many players have been traded for odd stuff behind the scenes, or lost as bets or lost gambling.. Obviously you cant tell the media you lost a player gambling or you traded him for off-ice stuff etc... That's why you saw a lot of "traded for cash" pre-1993 or so -- it wasn't always "cash" lol....
    Also, if a team puts in a waiver claim for a player the team would have to pay $100,000 to buy that contract.. At least the price used to be $100K, it's probably more now.

    As a Leafs fan, this was awesome but it made no sense statistically for the Flames... Gary Leeman, Craig Berube, Michel Petit, Alexander Godynyuk and Jeff Reese to Calgary for Doug Gilmour, Jamie Macoun, Ric Nattress, Kent Manderville and Rick Wamsley. Most confusing? Toronto trading Lanny MacDonald for Bob MacMillan and Don Lever .

      Brand new hockey fan from 2019. I needed a new sport to watch, and never have watched a single hockey game. I picked VGK, as I loved knights and medieval stuff in general, but also because they had no history. Past 2 years were amazingly fun for me! But after this trade? We can't figure it out, and I'm totally upset on astronomical levels that we traded fleury for nothing! I'll remain loyal to his team of course! I won't be surprised if we miss the playoffs this year. This management needs to be gone, and get some people that respect the best players, and whom Dont trade hot players, on hot teams....it's really really unbelievable in all of the years I watched sports...miss you Fleury!

      @@alec1430 welcome to the fandom. I grew up a Kings fan. There's so many years where i was absolutely po'd at the mismanagement or watched my favorite player traded away.
      It works in cycles. If you remain loyal you're gonna hit some lean times along with the joys. Before you know it, 10, 20, and even 30 years will pass and you'll see things reset every 5 years or so.
      I waited 33 years to see the Kings win their first Cup.

    The Oilers owner was barely a multi-millionaire! (He really was Not that loaded, maybe a couple million)
    His businesses were going south: oil, meat packing, car dealers. He needed $$!
    If he WAS a “Billionaire” you know he would have kept the Oilers together! They only had a $3mill payroll. Yet he traded offf EVERY asset at their peak.
