I hope you enjoy the video. I had the idea of making this one for a while. I would love to know if you played any of these games & would also love to know what are your favourite Mega Drive/Genesis titles. ^_^

awesome video tanooki, and glad i was able to get you into phantasy star! so many bangers here, with special mention to the hella underrated trouble shooter games (or, ugh, battle mania). my favorites on the system would be those, your usual suspects like sonic, streets of rage, and PHANTASY STAR BABYYYY, but we can't forget the true goat... NIGHT TRAP BABY, LET'S GOOOOOO

Thanks for getting me into Phantasy Star. PSO is one of my favourite games I've played this year so far. Trouble Shooter is great & I hope some of these games will be ones you pick up & give a go. Sonic & Streets of Rage are great choices (all of them). I do have to give Night Trap a go especially being on the Mini 2. ^_^

So just recently Sega has confirmed that their Sega Mega Classic Collection as well as Jet Set Radio, NiGHTs & Crazy Taxi will be removed from all digital selves by the 6th December 2024 for some reason so what I mentioned at the end of the video may not hold up. Maybe the reason like Sonic Origins. I recommend getting some of these games on store selves before it happens.

I grew up with Nintendo until my household got a PS1, then we immediately converted to a Playstation household from there on, including getting the initial backwards compatible release PS3. I have a massive blind spot for Sega games and haven't played many as a result.
HOWEVER. A small fun bit of origin story, I was too young to remember - perhaps maybe 3 or 4 - but both my Nana and Mom claim that, while visiting my Uncle who had a Genesis, that the very first video game I ever laid hands on was Vectorman. So, for that, Vectorman is my current favorite Mega Drive game~
And also for that reason, this video was quite valuable to me~! I have a nice solid list of stuff to check out should I pull the cord on a Genesis exploration~! I was *really* impressed with Ristar's Flora Clear transition too - I recently came off of beating ZeroRanger and I'm starting to notice stage transitions like that more and more as of late - thanks for including it!
    Loved the vid! ^w^ 💚

I'm glad you enjoyed the video & happy to hear that you may check out some of these games. Ristar is a must play. Vectorman is a good choice though being the first game you've played is like jumping to the deep end. That is one tough game I've yet to beat. Never heard of Zero Ranger before. ^_^

Phantasy Star 4 is the Megadrive's Chrono Trigger. Probably the system's best RPG. Phantasy Star 2 is a bit exhausting with those mazes and huge difficulty spikes.

I'm planning to play some Phantasy Star 4 next year. I've heard so many great things about it. The map design is the biggest hurdle when it comes to playing PSII. Certainly a game that requires patience.
