This is a great video, you did great at explaining the systems and I loved to know that silent can be used without the phones (never thought about it). Thank you so much for taking time to record this!
Thank you a lot for this explanation. It helped me understanding the differences. I will now check both Yamaha and Kawai to finally make my decision. Up to now I wanted to go with a Hybrid, but now I think I will change my mind!
Thank you very much for this very good video and great information! Can you please tell me what the action feels like in the silent/digital mode? Is it the same as when playing acoustic mode? Also, can you record onto a USB stick while not using headphones, so that your performance can be heard by others at the same time as you record?
Thank you very much for this video! Really wanted to see a real person showing the functions and expressing personal thoughts on this piano. My dream piano so far, acoustic upright grand with digital piano functionality that doesn't require headphones all the time like the silent piano. Unfortunately I won't be able to afford this for years! 😂
Glad you liked it! I also don't like to put on headphones for too long so spent extra 3k to have the flexibility to play as digital piano. Hope your dream come true soon :)
Great video, thank you! I'm looking to get one. It's confusing with all the different models. I'm still trying to work out the differences between them. Do you know if yours senses light or uses magnets to detect the keypresses?
Hi Annie, I have a CLP775 and I live on a terraced house. I feel the urge to own an acoustic upright, but I play at 5am everyday and sometimes at night. I am super hesitant and as I understand my sole option is an hybrid, so I can play silently when I want and play loud acoustically during the day. But all these available models and it’s naming and systems are confusing. I wonder if the digital part of you piano has a malfunction out of warranty, who’s capable of fixing it? It’s a rather new tech. Anyways…I still have some hesitations….your video helped. Thank you
Why not try the Yamaha N1X hybrid? It has a very substantial grand piano action. I have had the N1X for a year and a half having trade up my CLP 745 after 9 months of clicking keys. I am a lifelong acoustic grand player and really enjoy my N1X. There’s only 15 voices on the N1X as compared to the 40 or so with the 775 but the sound quality is so much richer. I really think you should try the N1X. It may be what you are looking for. Best of luck to you and I would be 11:05 11:06 interested to know what your thoughts are on this suggestion.
Thanks for this, super helpful. Need to get a silent piano for apt I am moving into.

Thank you for the detailed explanations, not seen a talk through the models online before.
The digital output sounded remarkably good.

Glad my effort helped another person :) Whichever you picked, it will be the best one for you I bet!
Why hybrid isnt good?

does normal yus5 got silent system or not?
I see market do sell one yus5, and yus5 sh2??
Thankyou for the video! Do you need to use any speaker if you want to lower or increase the volume without using headphones?
No extra speaker needed, the piano comes with a sound board and it can go REALLY loud if you allowed :P
does it have midi for writing in pc DAW?
It does have midi as we tried out a few piano apps and was able to connect the midi to iPad.
