Norton is actually a good antivirus. At least better than Windows Defender. Personally I use Bitdefender.
There are reliable experts out there who don't agree with the conclusion of this video presentation.
@@g0odnitenorton has become adware itself
@@omidhope7456yep. Especially guys like pirate software who used to hack into nuclear power plants for the government as an offensive security specialist
This is an ad. Symantec is basically classed as malware by most in the tech industry who build, support or repair PC's. This is just so wrong.
Thanks for your comment! Just to set the record straight, our reviews, including this one, are completely independent and not sponsored. We aim for honest, unbiased insights. Your feedback is always valued! 😊👍

I am trying to find an honest take on windows defender to help me understand what it can or cant do and all i can find is ads ads ads is so sad
@@ravenseesall2319 it's because av protection is a big industry based on customer's worries and lack of information.
I personally prefer a combination of mild hardening of windows defender, installing a third-party HIPS and a firewall cause those from win is a crap. Last but not least is a good filter which is nowadays for free in a combination with a secure encrypted DNS. And of course a secure modern browser with automatic updates, like firefox, brave.
Examples of a good firewall is a portmaster, it's opensource and free, and has additional good features like secure DNS and filters.
I don't know any good enough opensource HIPS, but COMODO or ZoneAlarm any of them just doing the job. There are controversies about free EULA, but a careful search shows that COMODO Firewall is still available for free. If you are not happy with this outdated version, the full protection with updates and additional features will be around 30$ per year.
Overall it will be a good package for security, and even some cover for a privacy
i hate symantec. I prefer AVG or Malwarebytes. or combined both. It doesn't slow down the system.
Stopped watching when he named Norton as having a 'trustworthy reputation'.
I’ve been using Norton since their PC Tools days.. and never had any virus or ransomware attacks. I have Norton 360 10 device license and the cost is very reasonable… I could not be happier….
Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Norton 360. It's great to hear that the service has provided you with robust protection against viruses and ransomware across multiple devices, all at a reasonable cost. User experiences like yours are invaluable and help others in the community make informed decisions about their cybersecurity choices. We appreciate you taking the time to contribute your thoughts and are thrilled to know you're happy with your choice. If you have any tips or further insights, feel free to share!
What an interesting coincident that you just happen to think that the two products you post affiliate links to happen to be better than the one you didn't get sponsored by. What an interesting coincident indeed
No. There you go. Also, never use any Symantec products.
Most third-party security solutions are basically malware themselves, with as much as they slow down your system.
Hello it's not the right way to test the antivirus by scanning a folder. Try executing it the sample will go to Microsoft's cloud and then Detect it as malware.
I'm not trying to be rude but in av comparatives the detection rates are extremely low but the protection rates are very high!
Testing antivirus software by executing a sample can indeed provide valuable insights into its effectiveness. Detection rates and protection rates may vary, as you've noted. It's important to consider both aspects when evaluating antivirus solutions.
I agree, but also my request is to test Windows security by executing all samples that you have and make a review about the video!
And also for detecting the recently downloaded sample without executing it we can use virus total or use malwarebytes as second opinion scanners right?
can u remove trojans with it bro pls help
I had used Microsoft Windows Dedender for 15 years. Got maybe one or two viruses. And it was totally my fault. The other one I like is Bit Defender Free.
Thanks for sharing your experience! It's great to hear that Windows Defender has served you well over the years. User vigilance definitely plays a big part in staying safe online. Also, BitDefender Free is indeed a solid choice. It's always interesting to hear about what works well for different users. Thanks again for your input! 😊👍
When watching those videos NEVER go for the ones that sponsor given videos
Source: take my word for it
hilarious - your Norton discount link. Yep - I believe you...
how come jayz who's got a good 4+ million subscribers says Norton is the worst anti virus system ever made.
been using norton 360 delux for up to 5 devices been using since 2010
The first things most tech support engineers often do is uninstall any Symantec products. They are classed as malware. Nobody should be using Norton for anything.
@@ObakuZenCenter norton 360 is not malware btw its a security suite
how you like those pop ups that never go away and cant be easily turned off

How convenient, the two alternatives are the sponsors in the description 😒
Odd that there is no testing shown. Norton is not a very reputable company or product despite size. That’s an odd one to choose. This video is odd all around, honestly. I suppose we’re supposed to take your word for it that Norden thrashed windows. That just doesn’t seem to be the case in modern times in a lot of instances. Especially in relation to the significant cost of Norton relative to the free and significantly improved windows defender.

You Don't Need Any Norton Mortan If You Have Windows Defender With Latest Virus Definitions Which Are Automatically Or Can Be Manually Updated. Its More Than Enough Period👍
antiviruses are useless these days
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's true that antivirus software has evolved, and built-in solutions like Windows Defender have significantly improved. However, external antivirus programs can still offer additional layers of security, especially against newer and more complex threats. It's all about finding the right balance for your needs. Stay safe online! 😊🔒
@@SafetyDetectives "newer and more complex threats" 99% of the time, you get a virus on your computer by downloading and running random things, or going on sketchy websites. As long as you have a brain and common sense, you are not going to get infected. I have completely disabled windows defender for many years, and my computer and personal data is still safe to this day. The only time a virus will infect you if you have common sense is if there is a major security vulnerability within the os, which is rare + an antivirus wouldn't stop that.
Hamzahadam, your method is too far away from a good protection. Sometimes you don't need to click a link to activate a malware. Disabling all defender features is a no-no if you don't have any other protection, like third-party firewall or another HIPS utility with default zero trust to any unidentified exe, dll scripts reg files and so on.
I can only agree that you don't need an online, cloud and realtime protection. Most other options better leave on )
And use not just a common sense, but real filters like secure DNS with malware, spam, ad filters
and it's worth to remember that disabling windows defender doesn't give you a second chance for a wrong decision. One click may just destroy your entire system.
On the other hand installing additional HIPS utilities, firewall and some additional security features gives you a privillege to make many wrong clicks. If you decide to activate automatic sandboxing, which is included in many security packages, then almost no harm can be done to the system.
The only real protection against major security flaw of os is a periodic backup. desirably to a detachable or a network drive running by dedicated server, another local computer, home router or something similar
@@user-od4gs3iu4t okay, but I have disabled windows defender for over 5 years (while running an old version of windows 10), and I am still yet to be infected. I don't think my method is very bad if you have more than 2 braincells. 99% of the time, viruses come from you not using common sense. And for "viruses being executed without clicking on anything" is just straight up false, because if that was true, I would have already been infected. The only time where you could get infected with my method is if a major security flaw was found in the OS, which is very rare, and an antivirus wouldn't do anything to stop it anyways, as I already explained above. A firewall on the other hand, is very important, as it should be enabled at all times when on the internet. Windows firewall works completely fine, you don't need any 3rd party firewalls.
Just to clarify windows defender is nor free they make u think its free but charge u with device purchase
Huh??
Anyone confused by this comment, skip it and move on. It’s either a joke or incorrect. Defender is free.
Windows defender not even good.
