"Gold and silver is the autumn
Soft and gentle are her skies
Yes I know, are the answers
Written in my true love's eyes
Autumn's leaving, winter's coming
I think that I'll be moving on
I've got to leave him and find another
I've got to sing my heart's true song
Round and round the burning circle
All the seasons, one, two, and three
Autumn leaves with the winter
Spring is born and wanders free
Gold and silver burnt my autumns
All too soon they'd fade and die
And then there were no others
Milk and honey were their lives" - เพลง
Beautiful lady witah a angelical voice!R.ip Sandy Denny(1947-1978)
You have Ella for jazz, and Sandy for Folk... unsurpassable...
Absolute awesome voice! R.ip Sandy Denny (1947-1978)
Why do the good die young??? Every time I hear her voice it takes you back to a much more simple time Thanks for the upload :-)
This is just absolutely enchanting on this winter night ...
I always think of this as an autumnal song, not because of the lyrics mentioning the seasons passing, but because of the poignant guitar and the beautiful and melancholy tone of Sandy Denny's voice. I know that it was written by Jackson C. Frank, but it sounds so much like one of Sandy's own songs that it is clear that he had an influence on her songwriting style.
that sums up this song beautifuly.
Jackson C. Frank had such a tortured life resulting from being caught in a school fire that killed several of his classmates. He wrote me a letter explaining this tortured life and timeperiod when in London with Sandy. Sandy did three of Jackson C. Frank's songs and Bert Jansch covered at least two of them.
It even killed his girlfriend
sublime sublime sublime what more can you say
Forever in my heart and never forgotten
The wonderful Sandy, I could imagine her accompanying Nick Drake,as it sounds like a track of 5 leaves left.
Sandy used to be the girlfriend of Jackson C. Franck who convinced her to give up her nursery job for music...
This version is simply awesome.
Jackson wrote this
Sublime
No singer like Sandy, and no songwriter/singer like Jackson C. Frank. ♥♥
I love this version and this photo. Sandy is Wild!
you´re missed, sandy!
it's a shame she's dead but this stuff she left behind other singers can only dream of
Darker and more beguiling than the released version.
so cute version!
Such a beautiful haunting voice.
1st class !!!!
sandy is amazing :)
yes... thank you ladysonja for making so much of this happen. Many musicians knew that Sandy's work ws an untapped treasure. But you put it up on youtube and over the last few years the number of videos has grown exponentially. Thank You.
Beautiful 💐🎉

Thank you. I appreciate the people who post lyrics.
Sounds like Sandy playing the guitar. She was quite a good player herself, especially on the 12 string that you hear here.
Two guitars.
Two guitars and upright bass?
Such a talented voice and musician. She didn't live to fulfill her full potential, tragically. Just discovering her music and Fairport Convention, not to mention JC Frank.
Would have been perfect for Fortheringay's album. . Beautiful.
well done
The best singers come from the so called Celtic Fringe;although Sandy Denny was born in England her background is from Scottish stem.
I often wondered if she was of Scottish Background, the surname "Denny" sounded very Scottish to me. I have Scottish ancestry myself, descended from a member of the Cing/Roi family.
@Mark Weaver
I do know she was English.
❤❤❤
anyone know if richard thompson is playing guitar on this song, just read the wikipedia info about the demise and death of j c frank, very sad
where are these versions from ?? and is the bass man Danny T ??
Quelqu’un a demandé où l’ont peut trouver cette version mais personne c’est répondre ??
You have It here
Very Babe I’m Gonna Leave You-ey 😊
Criminal that this version isn't available on vinyl!
What release is this alternate take from?
Sounds a little like Fotheringay.
Good Nick Drake s cover
No. Nick Drake was influenced by Jackson C Frank who wrote this song.
The lady
not RT. Quite possibly Sandy herself. She learned how to play pretty well from Jackson.
